When will these ever stop… i mean every 2nd day we see one now.. lol…!!

Not to mention what are they 'apologise' (Apologising) for this time?

    • +2

The email says "Soz to our competitors" in the title and the message says "Sorry to our competitors, but here's 12% off 100s of products"

      • The only reason a retailer would introduce discounts is to increase sales, which means sales isn't as good as they thought it would be. They should be saying sorry to their shareholders…

        • +1

welcome to the world of Myer 'Saturday deals', EVERY SATURDAY!

        • +11

Not as bad as Godfreys. Every. Single. Weekend they have a 'car park sale'.

        • +7

And their stupid stock manager always overstock

    • +63

    • Maybe they're apologising to their child labourers.

do you think they were aiming at 'apologies'?

  • -8

    put ONLINE ONLY in title…

  • +1

hmmm some of these prices seem like they've been jacked up to RRP or close to!

    • +7

      hence the need to 'apologise'

    • They normally are 10% extra on the competition anyway so…

      • +1

well i've bought from them in the past when they've had these "10%,11% etc" off and they didn't seem to jack the prices up like they are now… i don't think i'll even bother going to the site next time seems like they are using it as way to get traffic to the site…

apologies on my behalf to DSE … lol

  • OP was so quick…

  • how come it wont work on Nexus 7 tablet? don't see anything in exclusion?!??Q?Q

    • Works for me

      Subtotal: $339
      Discount: -$40.68
      TOTAL
      $298.32

      • the 16 gb one? for $249 - Coupon code "Apologise" is not valid.

        • +2

I thought the 16gb was already on sale?

          Edit: Exclusion List: TA7006

  • Nothing useful in stock.

  • +7

Works on pre order of Xbox One without Kinect - takes the price down to $439.12

    • +1

Almost the price of a Wii U. Nintendo should take note.

      • Nintendo take notes with invisible ink… by the time they come back to read their notes they forget and end up doing what they always did.. hehehe

This is from a long time Nintendo fan.. :)

      • +1

The Wii U can be bought bundled for around 300.

        • i got mine from DSE when they cleared out their Nintendo stock :) 50% off could only manage to get the basic with a controller for $200… to be honest i think its worth it at around that price point 200-250.

        • Same here, although paid another $50 to get them to send a console to my local store which were always sold out. It saved on both time and money so it was perfect.

        • I pricematched mine from the same deal at Kmart :)

      • Why ? there's nothing really worth it on the Xbox one yet.

  • seems like there isn't free shipping to go with it this time around

  • -1

    ahh that's sucks

  • doesn't work on the Acer V5-573, yet can't see it in the exclusions.
I'm starting to feel that the Dick Smith deals are only worth posting if there is in fact a product which is a bargain.

    • I saw that model on clearance today at DSE Glen Waverley (Vic)

  • Their getting so lazy, they dont even bother should stock as out of stock, just removing the link in their website all together.

  • thinking of using 12% off on portable harddrive, need at least 2tb, would it be better deal to get two 1tb externals or 1 larger drive? also only seems to be seagate and toshiba , last few portable drives i have got have had power issues spinning the drive up what's peoples opinions on either toshiba or seagate the quieter the better

    • +1

      SEAGATE Backup Pls 2TB
That's the one I'm getting about $166 with free delivery (cheapest from the big stores)
Only 15x g and slimmest on the market (as I do carry it with me everyday…)
As for realibity all of them seems to have some problems and then are just back-up (and you always need more than 1-2 backups)

CNET review (By the way the warranty is now 3 years)

    • It would depend on what you want it for. If you want backups then go for 2 1TB HDDs so there's less chance of corruption, if you want storage then get a 2TB to save money.

Also if you're having power issues try using a USB Y cable. They plug into two USB ports to draw more power.

    • Good guys had a WD 2 tb for , I think, 129. Search on site, it was only a few days ago.
I would rathe WD than toshiba or seagate, purely with what I have used over the year.

      • yeah even though ozbargain deal says TGG deal still active all the prices have gone up at TGG, checked out officeworks and they have the exact same toshiba model that dick smith is selling for $159 for $139 so looks like dickies have put prices up while they have this so called deal on

over the years have old seagate 150gb model still working fine, have 1tb lacie that is a huge brick and works but is super slow transfer speeds, the one i have biggest issue with is the WD 750gb my passport drive has the smartware drive stuff that can't be deleted also seems to suck alot more power then the others because as soon as i plug it in all my other usb powered stuff has issues also is the loudest of the lot , tempted by those reviews of the seagate but think i will wait for another sale or look at importing

  • +1

iPads not on exclusion list but when you go to the iPad page (I only checked 32 GB iPad Air), it's in-store only…effectively excluded.

  • +3

Bought xbox one last week…received delivery yesterday of a belkin audio kit (didn't order) with tracking info and order no of my delivery. Such a nightmare trying to speak with someone online who could speak English. Looks like someone in warehouse stuffed up big time and got the delivery labels mucked up.Good Luck to other person who received an xbox instead of their Belkin audio kit.

    • +1

Dick Smith online has terrible phone waits if you try to make voice contact - took me an hour on hold when an order needed altering late last year. Ouch!

      • +1

        They're apologising to you.

      • Yeah, their online reps are ridiculous.

I remember trying to return a 3DS with a dead pixel, online rep pulled me pillar to post to send it in, days on end no progress, tech guy couldn't find it even with specific instructions I included and would refuse to refund me. Said sorry can't do anything.

I went into store, and they returned it instantly. When online rep advised I couldn't so didn't want to waste my time.

        Seriously useless!!!

  • At least you've received something.

    • Pay the extra for the ST60 model from jbhifi

    • Yeah, be quicker next time. You missed out when it was $999 :)

  • 12% off and when I check LG G2, they bumped the price up to $599. Making it more expensive when I bought them months ago at $517.

    • To be fair, I checked the DS site for the LG G2 around a week ago and its was $599 as well. The $517 price was probably during a sale.

  • They have one 65" tv and its $7000 ROFLOL

    • Must be that new curved OLED model from Samsung.

  • Work with a Chromecast?

  • -4

god damn what is the point of these continual crappy 10-12% off sales

    • +15

To reduce products to 88-90% of their previous cost.

  • How about more hour of power deals Dicky? A PS4 for $460 would do nicely.

  • +4

    Waiting for DS 20% off.
If their sales aren't going well, then they will have to provide greater discounts!!

  • Whats excluded? pretty much everything that people want to buy…

  • +2

They should apologise for being a dick (with their exclusions).

  • I ordered mine in the last 12% discount 13 days ago and yet to receive my item :(. Apologise?

    • I ordered mine 2 months ago and still waiting for it.

  • I'm trying to apply it to a Logitech Harmony 650. But it isn't working for me. Can anyone else confirm?
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tv-video-accessories/logitech-ha…

    • Discount works, shows up as Discount:-$9.60.. use google chrome or clear your cache & cookies if you're using IE.

      • What is this IE you speak of?

  • +2

They should apologise to me for talking $1200 of my money for over 1 month with no contact then in the end failing to deliver anything and refunding me. They should, but they didn't.

    • +1

      Dick is now emulating's Gerry's M.O.? o.O

    • +11

You really seem to have a thing with butthurt. Bad experience in the past?

    • I think soneone must of had relations with silent bob's gf in a very uncomfortable place..

      • +1

like the back of a Volkswagen?

        • Yep definitely in the back

  • I'm looking for a 46-55" tv, not plasma, preferably smart tv, what would you buy? the LG 42" (106cm) Full High Definition LED TV 42LB5820 caught my attention but its only 42".. good deal with 12% off and $100 gift voucher.

    • The JVC 55" ticks all the boxes. Has been a tad under $1,000 at DSE in the past.

  • +1 for the code. Apology for lying to Ozbargainers and all those limited stock deals

  • Is it possible to get 12% off preorder of game AND get the $10 down $10 off deal? Eg for watchdogs

    • try.

    • From what I understand, you can only get the special price of $64.98 if you order in a physical store.
