    • Apparently Amazon.com.au doesn't have the kindle cloud reader. my account used to be .com but now it is .com.au. how do i change it back? so i can purchase it on American store to then use kindle cloud reader.

When trying to purchase it while on Australian store, it will say 'I haven't got a reader associated with my account, please choose kindle for android etc'. Although when looking back at previous purchased books, i can open those in 'cloud reader'.

      • Try this link (might or might not work) and change your country to any address in the US.

If the above link doesn't work:

        • Login on www.amazon.com
        • Click "Your Account" -> "Manage your content and devices"
        • Click "Country" in the menu on the left

All I want is a good Indonesian style mee goreng recipe.
I try garlic, red curry paste, fried egg w/maggi seasoning, a little sambal, a splash of fish sauce, a splash of kecap manis, some prawns and chicken plus noodles and some greens.
But I still can't get it quite right. What am I missing?

I think you have to have somebody else make it and serve it to you to get full enjoyment. When you cook it yourself and prep everything and taste all the stages etc the wow factor doesnt happen.
Kind of like how bread rolls always taste better in a restaurant.

        • Agree with you. With some dishes I cook I don't fully enjoy compared to when cooked by someone else.

my problem is im never hungry when i finish making something… and if my wife makes it, she takes far too many 'artistic license' decisions and stops following the recipe…

she takes far too many 'artistic license' decisions and stops following the recipe…

Ha ha… So true… Why can't women follow recipes ?

        • lets hope for jv's sake an 'artistic license' is the only one she has…..

          Finally…… he came out

    • Don't add fish sauce! Indonesians don't usually cook with fish sauce. Use oyster sauce instead, try it and see how it goes. My mum never uses curry paste in her Mee goreng either. And oh, don't forget to add some bean sprouts ;)

    • Have you tried Manu's Mee Goreng ?

Everyone knows the French make the best Mee Goreng…

I don't know where you got this recipe from, find a new one on google.
      - no maggi; using dark soy sauce instead (not required, it's only make your food darker)
      - no fish sauce; as you already put kecap manis(soy sauce)
      - no red curry paste; using Sambal oelek instead (or ginger & chilli)

Correct…all those ingredients are for malaysian style. Indonesian mie (not mee) goreng never use them.

    • Have you got a really hot gas fire? And/or good wok?
