  • Yep great deal for 4G model, thank OP for posting!

  • Is this the latest model? Too many of them get confused sometimes. ;-)

    • says 2013, so yes (until a new model supposedly comes out in a few months)

  • It is the current model. Previous model only has 3G and not LTE

  • Thanks

price match with TGG and pay using AMEX to get $50 credit.

    • +1

Too bad you can only used once.

    • Can you pop in a link to the $50 thing. I've seen it posted before but couldn't see info on the AMEX site

      • You need to log into your AMEX account and activate it under 'Offers & Places'

        • I think that offer has expired… i can't seem to find it on my AMEX account…

    • good idea, thanks Itw1977

    • Anyone called TGG yet? If so, please let us know, did they just match the price or deduct 120% of the difference?

      • +1

Going overseas so works out the same both ways for me (pricematched at $300 btw).

        $300 - $50 amex - $27 TRS = $223

which funnily enough is the same number i get if the do the 120% difference (TGG price = $439)

        $439 - 300 = 139 x 120% = $166 refund

        $439 - 166 - 50 = 223

        • I didn't mean to neg it. I wanted to hit "+" sign. Hitting neg sign again wouldn't reverse it. Sorry

        • Did you match in-store?

I just called the 1300 number from their website and they were not able to help me except with the advice: buy online, then once a store has been allocated for dispatch, call that store and get the price matched.

That of course would be a risk if Bing Lee sells out in the meantime.

Re TRS: same for me, but if I buy something else to get to $300 all up after 120% that would work out even better :-)

        • +1

You can click on 'votes' under the post, then revoke your -. In the meantime I made up for it with a +.

        • Yep, now Bing Lee has "contact for stock availability". Guess they are sold out…

        • :( i snooze i lose

        • agree ..ideal scenario = re 120% refund + buy something else to take up to $300 + TRS

        • Make sure your receipts are for over $300 from the one ABN or you will not be able to claim it at the TRS counter.

    • Can seem to see it on my AMEX account either. Damn

  • You've done it again earth. Thanks!

  • Great price!

  • Does OW have 4g model?

    • -4

I couldn't find it, although I didn't really search too hard (shaped)

      • -1

Yeah, was hard to read your comment because it's greyed out, and I couldn't be bothered to try too hard, but heck, thanks anyway for the comment.

  • Bought thanks.

  • Anyone got tips on best 3g/4g prepaid sim card for Interwebs access

    • Telstra prepaid (4G) or Boost (Telstra full speed 3G/HSDPA)

Other Telstra resellers are on 7.2mbps or something like that

    • Amaysim if you're happy with 3g… $10 a month for 1 gig.. $20 for 2.5 gig. No contract.

      • Any plans with 6 months data expiration?

    • +1

Just buy those $30 Telstra prepaid kit for $10 goes on sale quite often you get 3gb for 30days (if you activate as an iPad sim)

    • I'm using Optus prepaid mobile broadband. $130 for 365 days and provides 15Gb. I remember paying something like $120 last year, after I just bought the tablet, and I think back then, they were giving a bonus 10% or 15% extra data for online recharge, which was good. It's no longer on the website. I'm not sure if it was only a one off deal.

  • +1

    Why now!

    • Because 3rd gen (nexus 8) will be out soon?

      • +3

I was actually shouting from the inside melodramatically but i think that too is one of the reasons.

        • The only time they discount the 3G/LTE models are when they are about to be superseded.

  • +1

I'll recommend a good case for this
    Poetic Slimline
    google it.
I've had one on mine for about 6 months now no issues at all
previously had some cheap Chinese copy on it : would not fit properly and the sleep/wake did not work.

  • Hi, will there also be a discount on the normal Nexus 7 (2013)?

  • Only top quality bargains from theearth. Thanks.

    • +1

      Cool link bro.

  • it cost me $17 postage, i am in country Victoria

  • I now need to buy a cover- any recommendations for something hardy? also, is this first generation? I'd hate to get the wrong size.

  • I just lost my Nexus 7 (2013) LTE overseas, and now this appears!

Should I replace it now or wait for a newer model? drums fingers

    • There will always be 'a newer model' ….hence your wait will be endless. With technology you either buy it or you don't buy it…never wait. :)

      • +2

Yea but 'newer model' is just around the corner now.. less than a few months away, as opposed to if you were waiting for, say, Galaxy S5. That's too far away.

I say wait for newer model, buy it with a Coles Mastercard and price protection it :)

        • Rumour says they will announce at Google IO on June 25th and release in July!

  • +1

Got one…deal was too good to resist. :)

    • Got one too after this deal has popup in 2 hours. Can't resist!!

  • Far out man I am tossing up whether to get this or not… GG indecision.

    • I flipped a coin…

    • I flipped the coin so many times… I think its not the decision its how do I explain it to the wife that is stopping me.

      • -1

Well mine wasn't very happy…. but hey… having a new nexus 7 LTE beats sleeping out on the guest room…so there's that thing :)

        • So what your saying is "playing with Nexus 7" > "playing with your wife"?

        • +1

Don't think you are married yet, because after marriage you don't get to 'play' with your wife. Its all serious work and commitment. :\

        • +2

          Enslaved to be exact.

        • ^ This guy knows. :)

  • Is this Nexus 7 the best value for money tablet available? How is it compared to the LG G Pad?

    Great find OP, thank you.

    • Gpad is better if you want bigger screen and dont need 4g .

  • Sold Out.

    • Yes. I just checked with live chat person James and he confirmed that the model is sold out and they are not re stocking the model anymore.

  • BTW, I get ridiculous LTE speeds on this bad boy.

    http://i.imgur.com/mO9qgz9.png

    • wow!

    • +1

I love the part that says "Faster than" and then 99% of Australia lol

    • does that mean you just used up 90megs of your download quota every second to run the test? :S

      • A bit less, since it ramps up to 90megs. But yeah, I used about 20% of my quota running that one damn speed test >_>

EDIT: Im almost sure it would have gone higher, had I not finished the speed test and the file download had been completed.

These guys have it for $285+ postage…has anyone dealt with this mob?

    http://www.techrific.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&…

    • +4

Oh boy, ready for the negs matey. The one in your link is a 32 Gb WIFI only model. The posted deal was 32 GB WIFI + 4G. Ocean of a difference.

  • So i checked the Bing Lee store in Blacktown… no more store… whatsoever, and apparently some stores overcommit stocks =/

  • Any stock in NSW?

  • Just thought i'd update this, I got a call from Bing Lee on the weekend that they had some stock left. So they took my order online. So thank you OP.
P.S. Would have really loved getting TGG to price match it and get the Amex $50off.
