I recon this is quite cheap for a 13" thinkpad, but then it's upto your judgement.

C2D - T5870

also add ons from IBM are quite cheap such as the finger print scanner + camera and 6cell battery.

pay a bit more, you get dedicated graphic card too.

Updated, I got email from Lenovo saying start from $849, but it's somehow the website is not agreeing to it. :-)

thanks to goofy…. it's now $849!!!

  Just tried,

  $1038 with camera + finger print + bluetooth + 6 cell battery

  $149 for 3 yr warranty (return to base tho, which means you need to send stuff back)

  Isn't Lenovo doing a clearance on their own website start from $799? Haven't compared the specifications, but I reckon they would be similar basic SL300.

  ok I was playing around with supposedly expired eCoupon "AUPSPENDNSAVE", (it's $500 cash off coupon for T400 and T500 which should've been expired on 09/05/2009) and applied it on SL300 and I got $100 cash off, making it $799. Now I don't know if it includes delivery fee like above deal or whether lenovo will honour it, thus buyer beware! :)

  WARNING the C2D - T5870 is now gone, final spec lests a CEL 575 2ghz… massive drop, but I did manage to spec one for as low as $619 with the code “AUPATHINKPAD”

  I have tried on 3 occassion with different models and it still comes back as invalid coupon.

    Don't include the quote marks in the code.
