FYI (to save people clicking through to look it up) its 1920 x 1080 resolution - not 2560 x 1440 that the Dell Ultrasharp 27" model commonly posted here is.

  • can't find it with the link you provided

  • U2412M sold out and start new special.

    Only $40 more?

    • This was available this morning when the U2412M was still in stock. Did consider this as it was a larger screen albeit only at 1080p.

      • OK nobody post this the same time during the U2412M on special.

Anyway 27" 1080p is a bit too big I reckon.

        • Sorry I was too busy at work but yes I should've posted. 27 inch is not too big if you want to use it was a small bedroom TV too ;-)

        • -1

I mean 1080p on 27" is too big.

          27" should use 4K.

        • You didn't feel all the icons look too big on 27" 1080p?

        • It probably would be - it would be fine for viewing full HD movies but then - just get a full HD TV lol.

        • Of course HD movie would be fine but we are talking about computer monitor here.

  • Sorry about the confusion. Ozbargain didn't let me post the URL as the ebay store.

  • It said ultra wide so not normally 16:9 size?

    • +1

I got confused too, but they're talking about viewing angle, not aspect ratio

  • I got excited then I read 1080p.

  • For this monitor I think the price is OK, however, if you have a look at 1920x1080 27" @ staticice, there are other brands at similar/lower price. LG, acer, etc.

how good of a deal this is I'm not sure. I like the size though

    • Other brands IPS screen?

      • yeah..
MSY - LG 27" 27EA53V-P 5ms IPS 1920x1080 HDMI DVI LED Backlight LCD Monitor

though after checking MSY seems not to be in stock
PS: other stores sell it for a bit more than $300

        • But Dell monitor is well known very good.

        • Plus it does portrait. A lot of other brands skimp out on the stand functionality.

  • Should get this one instead of 24" U2412M? Any suggestions?

    • In my opinion, no, because the U2412M is 1920x1200 16:10 which is a better pixel ratio for that sized screen.

If you don't mind 16x9 and can deal with 1080p on a 27", then by all means. It's personal preference, really, and also depends how how close you like to sit to your screen.

    • Over 100+ for the U2412M and only 11+ here, so what do you think?

If you use it mainly as a computer monitor I reckon 16:10 is a lot better.

People like this 27" only because they will use it to watch movie but I will never use a monitor to watch a movie.

  • Is there any reason they sell at a lower on ebay, instead of their normal store?

  • it's a good deal though. Let see at the end of this week, I would buy if I won't receive any speeding ticket

The 24" deal is on again.

  • Hi Guys, im not going to knock Dell Quality as they are pretty damn good but if you wanted a really good gaming Monitor 27inch 2650x1440 i would be looking at the Catleap Brand. They are 60htz but can be overclocked to 120 htz from memory. And the Picture is bloody Stunning. Just a helpful friendly Suggestion.

And if your after a different priced Gaming monitor i Suggest you check out the new Ben Q Ultimate 144htz MOnitors.
FYI i have 6 of these Ben Q XL2420Tx and can attest to there Quality and performance xD
