VLC is also a great alternative that's free!

    • When did VLC get back on the market? Ages ago I remember the 'owner's pulled it out of the market.

      • GPlayer couldn't play audio from my MKV files that VLC could, so not sure why I'd bother keeping it.

It's probably cause your Container (MKV) has AAC/AC3 audio files which the developer needs a licence to be able to play. I hear it's the same problem with VLC (apparently setting your time zone to Canada is the loophole)

        • My point is VLC does.

It retuned a couple of years back. Though I remember jail breaking just for VLC again.

  • i love you Tightarse :( Marry me !

    • Sorry tom. Already spoken for :-)

  • It has in app purchases right?

    • Only found it for viewing images, and then only after I copied some test files over via iTunes.

  • I've had and use this daily. Only issue is that about a year ago they stopped supporting some sound formats, so the odd movies audio doesnt work. And in the latest update, they changed the UI and only shows the first x number of characters in the title, so if its a TV show I cant tell what epi number it is. Otherwise its pretty sweet and worth it considering its free.

G player makes me think of something else

  • I still like Aceplayer the best.

Also has DLNA support which is important to me.
