Here is one for the Ozbargain Whisky Lovers… I picked up this code from the Whisky Live Show yesterday… It expires tomorrow so get in quick…

    I just got a phone call, out of the five I ordered they will only honour one. Lame. So a full refund for the others is all I'm getting.

      IMO you don't deserve to be negged for your comment, I was also tempted to do multiple buys, but i didn't as I feared this would happen. AFAIK we were not explicitly told we were not able to do multiple single buys.

    So i'm in QLD,
    No call but went to store to pickup 3 orders and they will only honour 1, because it was for VIC only.
    They will refund the other two anyway, so no love lost.
    My local felt bad this happened and i showed her the ozbargain deal so the manager said she will also give me 1 bottle free for the stuff around!
    So got the cheapest bottle honoured at $18.95 and got a free $68 bottle for the stuff up!
    Not complaining with that!
    Plus used a giftcard i won to order it ($15) plus used the cashback offer so paid less than $1 for two bottles out of my pocket!
    Cheers OP, i owe you a scotch!

    Just picked up 6 bottles from Alexandria in sydney. No call or message was given so just went there to ask about it. At first the staff said it was one per customer and would only honour one then I asked to speak to the manager. 10 min later he came back with my six bottles in a cart and honoured the transaction.

    Me too - read here that people were getting 'the call', so I bolted to my local Dan's in order to pick up my six bottles. No issues at all, all six handed over without any fuss.

    Whew. Almost didn't get plastered.

    I went down to Berwick Dan Murphys and the guy there told me that the head office had rang them up to tell them that the deal was for 1 bottle only. The guy however said that because head office had not contacted them again about it and phone calls/texts were not sent out to me or some others that they would honour the deal anyway.

    So looks like I slipped through the cracks and walked away with 4 bottles.

    They shouldn't give out promotional codes with no specific rules on how many items you can buy if they are not going to honour it.
    Then they make you feel like you have done something dodgy.

      Found out that the code was on a voucher that stated was for VIC only, so i'm told by the manager at my local DM's.
      It also stated it was 1 per person.
      OP for everyones piece of mind can you post a copy of the voucher T&C's

        Doesn't matter, if it was in a shop and you went to the checkout with more than 1 bottle you would be told then. Not after they have taken your money & left the store.

    The misses went into our Brisbane local store at midday to pick my 4 bottles up after receiving order ready texts & was then told that only one bottle would be allowed. The manager didn't seem the least bit interested in compensating or letting anything slip through, as she said to him we easily could have put an order in under each of our names & got 2 bottles but he still wouldn't allow more than one.

    It's a bit frustrating that some store managers are doing better by their customers than ours did, oh well, I probably need to drink less anyway. To those who managed to get theirs, enjoy!

    Now to see how long refunds will take….

    At one store I got my 2 bottles I ordered fine; no questions no comments.

    At another store I got my 1 bottle I ordered but when the person serving me said, 'wow, they made that cheap online' another passing employee said, 'oh yeah there was a big mistake online everyone is getting heaps'

    I think she was referring to customers ordering a lot of bottles.

    Although in both stores there didn't seem to be that many orders in the Collection Area.

    I ordered 2 bottles for pick up at Endeavour Hills Vic
    I got no call jst txt and Email that order was ready to pick up.
    When I arrived one bottle was there and manager said that's all he could give me.
    I said why did your site let me purchase 2 bottles then??

    He couldn't explain just said it's our mistake your money will be returned in 3 to 5 days.

    Had a good chat with the bloke at the local dans, he was saying it was only meant to be used with the whiskey products they import and it wasn't meant to be so wide spread. We just chalked it up to the internet and you got to try, they still let me have my two bottles so im happy, will toast the OP with my heartiest 12y neat!

    I always appreciate when businesses keep their promises.
    Anyway I managed to save $70 and spent ~$200 but on a long run I purchase all my boose at DM, and I will keep up with it further. So, I reckon it is a mutual interest.

    Online sales have a long way to go in Australia. Every time I have purchased something online as part of a sale you always hear muttering between employees when you go to pickup the item, there is always some mention that the site was hacked or some work around was used to get it so cheap.

      Never been my experience. Most times staff are just curious how I got a great deal. Some are even OzBargainers!

      Easily got my discount whiskey & went next door for a free pint & free 200g steak on another OB deal ;-)

      Even when I have turned up for FREE alcohol deals at DM - not spending a cent, staff have gone out of their way to be helpful. Even got extra free stuff.

      In the days of the rare heavily discounted DS sale items, an OzBargainer DS store manager gave me the quit stock list of great bargains, after I mentioned OB.

      Sometimes it's the staff or locality, sometimes it's the customer who creates an issue, and sometimes it's just a bad day.

      But you mainly hear about the bad experiences here, reinforcing that opinion.
