  • Bought one for $83 last week and still didn't receive it.

    • i bought mine last deal too.. delivered in 2 days..THEY ARE REALLY AWESOME!!!.. i bought the Sony MDR-XB610 in a previous deal.. the logitech sh*ts all over them. :P

    • Same here. 5 days later and still not shipped.

  • +1

I'll buy a pair when they hit $50. :) This is an excellent price, but they seem to be getting cheaper every day.

    • I believe this is the cheapest they've been worldwide (not including cash back deals, which at one stage brought them down to US$26 or US$36 or something!!!)…i don't reckon they'll drop much more, $70 maybe.

but, you never know…depends how much stock is left!

  • -1

    "Temporarily out of stock" :(

    • Just bought one dont know what happen to you….

      • Did not read the title properly -too early in the morning :). black one is out of stock. white one is available.
        Ordered white one.

  • +2

Unfortunately I have a big head. Does anyone know if the Logitech will fit my big head comfortably?

    • +2

A better fit than the Audio Technica ath am50. Not as tight, if that helps.

      • How is the sound compared to the m50s?

        • +1

Not as great. Audio Technica I believe in my opinion is still way better. It's quite airy, and the MIDS + LOWS (600Hz below) are quite disheartening. I reckon Sony is even better in sound, but the comfortability is awesome, feels like they're not even there.

    • I have a big head (2xl motorcycle helm if that helps) and they fit fine. I have 2 clicks of extension left. The clamping force is pretty low, but they seal well. Only issue I had was my flappy ears touch the foam liner, but I don't notice it anymore.

    • +6

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'll buy a pair. Big heads unite!!

  • Sounds like a great pair … (just reading the reviews) … l didn't buy when the Sony and Bose where on special … so maybe now it's the time :-) Thanks OP …

(Looks like it is a discontinued model … but nevertheless it's a good one).

    • Need to take this back … DS just cancelled my ebay transactions … will avoid this store for a while.

  • +1

Bought for $83 last week, spewing lol.

  • Seems UE/Logitech is scaling back earphone/headphone portfolio, hence, this is last of stock. Beats won.

  • Great find! Not a fan of the white though, too bad the black is out of stock.

  • Click on the UE6000 black and it comes up as page not found. Listing an item on sale that they know is out of stock and you can't even buy it?. Good one Dick Smith. Yeah well i already bought the UE6000 white for $83 delivered last week.

  • +2

I have three headphones already. DO I NEED THIS… =_=

  • What a ripoff with these Logitech UE4000 headphones for $39. They were $29 delivered last week.

  • +1

    How are the Sennheisers?

  • -1

Are these better than beats studios?

    • +8

anything is better than beats lol

    • -5

Depends what you mean by better. If listening in public areas, sound quality is irrelevant, yet, as a fashion piece, Beats is both cool(er) and hot(ter).

      • +2

If listening in public areas, sound quality is irrelevant

        ???

90% of my headphone listening is in public areas…and i can tell you sound quality is definitely one of the most important considerations for me in choice of headphone for public/portable use.

if sound quality is "irrelevant", then you just don't have the right headphones…

(i'm not even going to touch the "cooler"/"hotter" part…each to their own.)

        • i think he means if youre buying them to look "cool" then you dont care what they sound like

but i think to anyone on here sound quality is more important than looks

      • if sound quality is not of importance and you really want the beats design, the chinese knockoffs will do just fine.

        • Fake might still be hot, but it certainly isn't cool.

  • Bought two Sennheisers, reviews are good for this. I don't like in-ear earphone, and this one meet my need hehe. Should be better than Apple Earpods though. Thanks OP.

  • what are the main diffs between these and the U4000's ?

    • Apparently the sound quality is supposed to be better on these, plus it has noise cancelling (which is crap I hear)

I bought it primarily for the sound quality, hasn't been delivered yet, so hopefully there'll be a difference from my current ATH-M50s.

      • Apparently the sound quality is supposed to be better on these, plus it has noise cancelling (which is crap I hear)

That's the truth, isolation is brilliant but ANC is meh… use it as a bass boost lol.

Basically the break down of noise reduction is this (IMHO, i'm using mine whilst writing lol)

        90% noise isolation
        6% from music playing
        3% from ANC

        • What's your take on the sound quality? Is it detailed or does the bass get overpowering and make the mids/trebles muddy?

        • +1

Honestly, i'm not sure how to tell the difference between tremble and mids (i prefer the classic V shape EQs for foobar2000 and poweramp if that says anything).

All i can say is that from my experiences with the headphones i have (CAL!2, UE6000, HD439 and the phillips uptown) CAL!2 and UE6000 are by far my favourites with the CAL!2 winning by a small amount.

The SQ seems nice and clear to me, not as good as the CAL!2 but still quite nice.

Sound isolation is alot better on the UE6000 compared to the CAL!2 though.

    • UE6000's are circum-aural (UE4000 are supra-aural/"on-ear"), and have bigger drivers and an internal noise cancellation/bass boost amp.

  • Bought a white pair of UE6000. Thanks OP.

  • Do you need batteries to operate this headphone ? Or the batteries only require for noise cancelling only?

    • I believe it's only for the ANC.

      • Yup, and it works in passive mode so if you ran out of batt. you can still use it.

A chance to finally use all the official OzB currencies aye ;)

        All hail eneloop!!!!

  • I bought a set thinking they'd be a good upgrade for my computer set… They are very much designed for someone on the go. Short cable & 3.5mm jack make them a painful option for pc use. I took one look at the cable and repacked the set I bought… unsure what to do now. Can I return at the local Dicksmith store?

    • +1

the good thing about detachable cables is that you can replace it with whatever sort of cable you desire.

you should listen to them first…if you like sound/comfort, the cable is the easiest issue to rectify.

      • Something like http://www.cablechick.com.au/cables/3-metre-stereo-35mm-plug…

Just not sure about the fact the normal cable has the mic build into it. I guess i just need to extend it, but the computer has a specific mic input not like phones that has a combo input.

        EDIT
I'm assuming these headsets are 4pole or TRRS?

        • Ah right, i see, you want them as a headset i take it?

yeah, it's a 4-pole TRRS connector (i believe it's the iphone version of TRRS, but not 100% sure). You'd need to get a splitter cable to use as a headset (same goes for pretty much any non-gaming headphone tho).

  • Thanks a lot! Ordered a pair of MX365s for $12 with free delivery. My Vsonic R02 recently died and it's time to taste a new pair.

  • Grabbed two pairs of the UE6000s. Not ready to drop $300+ on the Bose cans just yet…

    Cheers OP!

  • Thanks OP just bought a pair of UE6000 using Wish Gift Card that I bought with ING card to get extra 5% off, so works out to $75.05, not bad for a decent set of headphones.

    • +1

You bought the wish card full price? There should be lots of deals where you get an extra 5% of the wish card …

      • There should be lots of deals where you get an extra 5% of the wish card …

you mean like using their ING card to get 5% cashback….

        • Usually I buy a wish card from RACV … for 95$ for 100$ value. technically you could pay with the ING card to get a bigger discount.

  • +3

Ozbargain is such a paradox - on the one had, everything that is wrong with the world (conspicuous consumerism) and on the other hand everything that is right (a great community).

  • what is DSE doing? Price changed so frequently, are they fooling people around? Not good at all!

  • So, has anyone actually received their UE6000s they ordered last week?

I checked my tracking with StarTrack, and for something classified as "Overnight" I've been waiting quite some time now…

    • i goy my white ones.. (though they had a broken clip on the battery cover, but as I didnt buy them for their 'noise cancelling' and going the refund/order a new set route isnt worth the time/effort…..its nothing a small bit of double sided tape couldnt fix)

    • You're lucky. My UE6000 white order hadn't even been shipped yet. Ordered it last wednesday through credit card payment. Actually i made 2 orders that day and none had been shipped.

However i made an order on friday from Dick Smith online through Paypal for a laser printer and it's been shipped. Go figure.

    • I received mine on Friday afternoon.

Still haven't broken the seals on the box and opened it to check or use the headphones, though.

    • Ordered last Wednesday, they arrived today. The got left on my door step unlike the $2 USB cable I got with them, they ended up (on a separate delivery) at the post office cause nobody was home!

Very happy with the sound quality but there a little tighter on my head then my old trusty DT-234 Pros.

      Overall rating from me 8/10.

  • Caved and bought a pair :(

  • and purchased, take that credit card!!!

  • Anyone know if the inline controls will work with non apple products such as gaming consoles? Mainly just the volume and mute buttons. I wouldn't mind using the UE6000 for my consoles as well if possible if I grab a pair of these.

    • +1

I don't know about that however I have read that it pause/play works but volume doesn't for some Android devices.

Though don't you have a remote for the gaming consoles though? (Is the cable long enough for that?)

      • I don't have a remote for them unfortunately, but I do have a nice extension cable to be used with this anyway ;) Since both my last pair of headsets and headphones all broke inconveniently around the same time, I wouldn't mind just having one multi use headset such as this one now.

        • I don't think volume controls will work for gaming devices via the headset. what console?

You should definitely be able to get the mic to work. If notit's not working out the box (which it should) you can always get an adapter http://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/1qk042/if_you_use_a_thi…

        • For now just for both last gen 360 and ps3 consoles, but future proofing is good too I guess with that adapter, I think I might just get this purely for music and portability anyway and get something else for the consoles still.

  • Star Track lost my parcel containing the UE4000. There goes my $33 :(

    • Are you serious? I'm waiting for delivery too and it says it's "In transit" since last Thurs…

      • I called them yesterday and they said they have no clue on where it is — to paraphrase the helpdesk: "We have just as much information as you do".

Which is not assuring at all, because the online tracker just says "in transit" @ Location Sydney, and that's all the information they can provide me on the phone.

        • Update: got it today. woo hoo.

  • +2

Anyone know if the Logitech can be used on the PC to hear and speak using mic and headphone jacks?

    • Affirmative.

(Ugh, I meant to just reply to the question without up-voting it.)

      • Cool. So I just need to buy a splitter?

        • Sorry, I misunderstood your question.

I thought you meant computers with combined headphone and microphone jacks, as can be found on MacBooks, etc.; you can hear and speak on the UE6000 and UE4000 with such, using the supplied blue remote/mic cord, even when running Windows (in Boot Camp).

I dug up an old Windows laptop with separate headphone and microphone jacks, and NO, while it detects that something has been physically plugged into the microphone jack (hence disconnecting the computer's built-in mic), it does not actually detect any audio input.

    • It definitely can be…just depends whether you need an adapter or not. I believe the included cable has a TRRS plug in the "iphone" configuration.

if you have a TRRS 3.5mm socket (in the same configuration) it will work straight out the box.

if you have a TRRS 3.5mm socket (in the other configuration) it will work with a TRRS to TRRS adapter.

if you have split headphone/mic input (most computers), then you'll need a splitter adapter/cable.

      • Yep I have a split headphone/mic input and have purchased this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121201814849?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN… do you think it will allow me to hear and talk at the same time?

I've tried plugging my iphone headset directly into my PC's mic jack and it doesn't work. Is it because its TRRS?

        • yes, your iphone headset is a 4-pole connector (TRRS), whereas your mic socket would be 3 pole (TRS) socket. so the poles (sections of the connector) don't align properly/in the right place.

that headphone splitter you bought should work on both the iphone headset and the UE6000. if it doesn't, you'll need to buy a TRRS to TRRS adapter to switch the wiring around (there's two popular wiring configurations for TRRS, hence why some headsets don't work in some phones, etc).

the adapter you bought says it works with iphone headsets, so should work fine.

        • Ah I see! That explains why when I fully plug in my headset into the headphone jack the sound becomes blurry and sounds like I'm underwater(I have to leave a little gap in the jack to hear properly). This must be due to the TRRS to TRS issue.

I just checked the cable I bought also states that it works with Android phones as well as iPhones - that doesn't sound right does it? I thought iPhone used different wiring configuration to Android.

        • not 100% sure, but i assume android manufacturers have started using the same TRRS as iphone for compatibility.

  • Wouldn't something like the meelectronics be bettter value with Bluetooth and a Mic?

  • I bought the white UE6000 during last week's deal. No StarTrack update since Friday - "in transit" at Melbourne.

    • Same here, disgusted with starcrap

  • Sold out?

    • Yes it's sold out

I ordered the UE6000 white last week on 11/06/2014 for $83 delivered. No item yet and still waiting for a shipping email as of a week later. All i get back from emails to Dick Smith is that the warehouse is processing the order. Been like that since last week. And as far as i can see only a very few people on ozbargain have reported even receiving their UE6000 yet. Good luck for those who ordered it on this sale you're going to need it. The Dick Smith warehouse is being slow as.

      • Ordered 16/06 for $79
        Received shipping notification 17/06
Delivered today (not home so went to depot) 18/06

        • I bet yours was shipped off from an actual B&M store that actually had it stocked which would be the reason you got yours. If is getting processed by the actual warehouse be prepared to wait ages and ages for it because i bet they don't even have any left in stock there.

It's like last friday i ordered a printer from Dick Smith but it was passed along to an actual store with it in stock and i received this printer yesterday.

        • Maybe…mine did ship out of Sydney despite me being located in Melbourne. Not sure if that tells you anything.

      • The Dick Smith warehouse is being slow as.

Perhaps they don't even have the UE6000s in their warehouse to begin with lol

Probably being shipped over from Thailand as we speak.

        • Well i ordered the UE6000 white version. The few people who reported receiving it must have been the UE6000 black version.

Hands up those who have received the UE6000 white version from Dick Smith?.

        • Mine is white, and I received it on Friday the 13th, after placing the order for it (for $83 on a previous deal) on Wednesday night. Can't fault the turn-around time, really!

I don't recall seeing on the box any labels to specify from where it was physically shipped to me, but I vaguely recall there was a sticker to indicate that it was received by Dick Smith, prior to being sent to me in the same outer, plain postal packaging.

        • Was it sent from the main warehouse or from a B&M store?. The tracking number will show where it was dispatched from. If it was sent from one of the stores you can bet that's why you already have it.

  • You wouldn't believe that my UE6000 white headphone just turned up on a Startrack truck just now. I didn't even receive a shipping email to say it was even sent. Unbelievable. A shipping email would have been nice.

    • All's well that ends well. Glad to see it's sorted!

      • Yeah me too. Looks like it came from the online warehouse in Chullora NSW.

  • Tried the UE6000. I think my $50 (on sale) Aereal7 Tank headphone sounds slightly better but the UE6000 isn't bad at all. lol. Still not bad for $79 or $83 whatever price you paid. Either price is a bargain.

Makes 3 headphones i have don't need any more. Must resist headphone sales.

    • +1

OK after a bit of tinkering i take that back on second thoughts the UE6000 headphone is heaps better than the Aereal7 Tank headphone from JB Hi-Fi.

      • Lol, what made you change your mind?

        • The Aeria7 Tank may have slightly more bass but the UE6000 sounds clearer in trebble. It's a much better headphone overall. But then this is a $200 RRP headphone vs $100 RRP.

Actually it sounds sweet better with noise cancellation on which is why i changed my mind. Who needs a Beats headphone!. lol

        • try the UE6000's in passive mode with a bass boosting amp (instead of the internal noise cancellation/bass boost in active mode)…should be able to get more bass, while still sounding clearer across the board.

        • Tried that. For some reason i get better bass with the internal noise cancellation on. The UE6000 does have some nice bass still it's not a bass head headphone. I think it's more focused on trebble.

        • what amp are you using?
