    Yakedi 'used' to be great.

  • the registration process would ask you lots of questions (as survey).
The site sends an activation link to your email address and the activation code (via SMS) to your Mobile.

once done, you got 3 free SMS per day.
(dont know if this is worth your trouble)

I have tested sending one. it worked.

    • 3 texts per day free is saving $270 a year, I guess not to be sneezed at.

      • Its actually $54.75 a year, there are plenty of sms sites that offer 5c text.

Also consider that when you SMS from your phone and you're on a cap, even though in "cap value" it may be 25c, the effective rate that you're paying for your SMS may end up being somewhere around 5c depending on how much you pay per month and how much credit you get per month, or what I like to call "the Multiplier".

          In a bit more detail:
I'm with TPG Mobile + Internet bundle, I pay $10 per month for mobile and get $300 credit. The multiplier is 30 - ie. every dollar I spend I actually get $30 worth of credit. The cap rate of a SMS is 25c, but using the multiplier, 25c/30 = 0.83 cents per SMS. Less than 1c/SMS!

and I agree, Yakedi USED to be good. That was when they had unlimited SMS with no ad in the SMS whatsoever. But that wasn't going to last was it? It's still not bad, but just not as good as it was before.

  • tried sending two, same number, got one.

Yes, this is unfortunatley a problem Yakedi has. I have emailed support about the issue of SMSs not getting through but never received a reply. Sometimes SMSs arrive several hours later. They may have changed their gateway provider at some stage because it used to be all good. From what I can work out personally, SMSs sent to Telstra network phones get through OK, but to Optus network phones it's a bit of a gamble. I used to use them all when they had 10 per day and they all got through, now I only use it occassionally if I don't care whether it gets through or not.

    old.

    3 sms/day is too little

  • It was great when it started about 2yrs ago. I think they then limited it to 10/day and I still used it then. Then they made it 3/day and added all the extra crap its got now. Prefer to pay at SMSGlobal if I'm not using my phone for some reason.

  • I joined up when they had UNLIMITED SMS and boy did i stuff it up for everyone lol!

  • i want twitter by sms back :(

  • I don't mind 3 sms/day if they get through. Problem is sometimes they don't :(

  • Totally agree with most of you! Yakedi once was good and reliable but now the messages rarely go through and its not at all reliable! Even if its 3 a day its of no use if the 2 I send don't get through! Also Yakedi has been on here before ( a year ago) and thats when i was introduced to it! Not one I would rave about on here!

  • Sent 3 and not a single one went thru. Ridiculous crappy site.

  • I agree with most of the comments - Yakedi is a bit too unreliable in delivering the sms's to be considered a god deal.
