Unleaded Petrol 141.3c/L Only @ UNITED, SOUTH GIPPSLAND HWY VICTORIA

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Unleaded petrol 91 is already above 150 cent around south eastern Melbourne. While driving back to home after 12.10 am on 18/06/14 I found it on south gippsland hwy near the intersection of pound road.

    • It's a few cents a litre cheaper, is it really worth a post?

      • Yes. On ozbargain 2$ cashback posts get over 200 likes anyday.

As someone who has helped a lot of people with fuel locks, I will say that last time I locked in for others, a stack of accounts got deleted by 711 - I personally lost around 5 accounts. So just beware that it seems there are more measures preventing the chopper.

      • Interesting. Were you locking them from interstate prices? I've been locking to only ones in my state and it so far has been ok (that and making sure I use things like magiskHide etc).

        • Yeah I was. They basically deleted a lot of peoples accounts that I helped lock in, as well as my accounts. That was after locking in around 30 people though haha, so maybe that was the problem.

Might stick to locking in my own for now and see if that still works, and if not, might stick to my state.

      • Yes indeed. Seems like a honeypot to me…

    • how do I chopper on android? do I need to jailbreak?

      • you need to root your android phone first. then there's a few other steps to get it working.

    • A noob q, what is the chopper ? I suppose some tool to change location of mobile device?

      • chopper
you need to root your android phone first. then you can do things like location spoofing.

      • +1

Pretty much. Difficult on android, but easy on iPhone. You can spoof your phone into thinking you're close to the cheap fuel station, then lock in the cheap price.

        • Which tool we use for spoofing in phone

  • We need to try and figure out how they are determining which accounts to ban. My theory is that they are banning accounts based on something device specific like mac address or uuid and then hitting all accounts that have used that ID. I don't believe they are using IPs. Another theory is that logging onto multiple accounts using the 1 device is the red flag that triggers the device ban. Thoughts?

    • I wouldn't want to list every possible reason why they could be banning accounts, as this would be a shopping list for them to adapt to and block more accounts. But needless to say, the more "suspicious" one's behavior is, the more red flags would be popping up at their end.

  • Apco Western Port $1.75 for 91

Everywhere else ~$2.32 now for 91… got help you if you need 98 or diesel

IS there a public holiday that I dont know about??

    https://www.drive.com.au/news/households-brace-as-petrol-pri…

Households brace as petrol prices skyrocket by up to 30 per cent

Compared with the previous week, where prices were as low as $1.77/litre, the cost to fill-up a 50-litre tank on a Toyota Corolla has gone from $88.50 to $112.50.

For owners of the Holden Commodore – which remains one of the most popular vehicles registered in Australia – they will be handing over an additional $35 every time they fill up.

  • Merged from Special unleaded fuel lock in 7-eleven app at 186.9c (otherwise 225.9c) @ 7-eleven Point Cook, VIC
    Go to Deal

Not exactly a deal but huge locational pricing differential. Went to my local fuel station in Point Cook and saw special unleaded at 225.9c and was about to regret that I didn't lock-in the prices yesterday when they were cheap.

But I ran the fuel scanner on the 7-eleven app and it showed me a price of 186.9c for special unleaded picking up from another station nearby. Locked in, got the fuel, and locked in again (screenshot of my app attached).

Maybe an error (?) which will soon be fixed.

damn, i thought you were talking about 98

      • Same!

    • Welcome to the 7-Eleven Fuel App Watch

    • I noticed that the app doesn't allow screen-copies of locked price barcodes anymore, to prevent sharing to friends elsewhere. I haven't tried but I guess taking a photo of locked price barcode (on another phone) would still work at point-of-sale.

    • Just filled my Van. Set your location and you will get $1.76 / L.

      ElevenMe app shows

      E10 175.9 Mayfield NSW 2304
      U91 177.9 Mayfield NSW 2304

Regarding the fuel price lock of 711 app, what's the point to post a good price at a specific location, if most ppl have no chance to lock in that price as they can get nowhere close to that location? Of couse your post may still be useful for maybe less than 1/100 of the users here.

On the other hand, you can still lock in a price even if you are by no means close to that location as you can trick your phone of your location. If one plans to do that, what's the point to post a good price but not the best price.

      • +1

People do post location specific specials occasionally, like store specific clearance and markdowns etc. So I don't think it's without precedence. I don't think this person knew about the 7-11 megathread though. Good effort, but at least they know about the 7-11 deal now.

    • Thanks, not the best deal but might be useful for some victorians without Chopper
