  • Item location not in Australia also works as long as it is listed on eBay AU
  • postage also attracts discount
  • Items bought before Offer started and paid for now also works (that's where all the gift cards went :)

GOTO PayPal, find the transaction, Click details, you will see a 15% contribution from CBIGSUNDAY courtesy of eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest.
    It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (image courtesy of ezarc)
    If it doesn't show the coupon in the details then you haven't done it right. You will also see the discount details in the payment confirmation details.

BIG THANK YOU to everyone for their vote. Thank You!

The Story (speculation on my behalf)

One could assume that there is a story behind this as I have seen this on eBay in other countries recently and my assumption is that it’s an effort to drive top line sales and bring the stock price back up due to eBay's challenges in 2014:

Ebay’s stock price was recently at a 52 week low at US$48.06 and has been on a consistent decline since 2014. There are several factors that have influenced this (not in order of impact):

  1. The recent security issue/alerts;
  2. Departure of some key executives;
  3. The infighting with investor Carl Icahn;
  4. Alibaba IPO around the corner with Alibaba posing a real threat to Ebay;
  5. Amazon consistent strength and expansion (they’ll be here next year!);
    (perhaps 4&5 should have Australian retail worried too!)
  6. Google Search algorithm changes resulting in lower rankings for ebay listings;
  7. Shut down of eBay Now - same day service;
  8. Some other undisclosed events (speculation).

Either way, I’m happy to support them this weekend and I’ll be buying up on Sunday !!!

The Instructions

  1. Proceed to Ebay Checkout Page: Checkout: Review order
  2. Enter coupon code in redemption code box (bottom right) and press apply
  3. Press Continue and pay with paypal
  4. Verify in the paypal screen/system that the discount was applied before you complete your order.

Hint: If you are buying multiple items then make sure the currencies of the items are the same because you will only get one shot at this coupon.

Please let us know what you are going to buy and share your bargains below please.

Will the professionals crash the site?

If you do the math then this is a potential $6 000 000 spend from eBay!

      What is a Gifte Gift Card?

      Gifte Cards are the perfect gift for when you don't know what to choose! Take the decision making out of your purchase and give them the ultimate choice with a card that can be used to redeem any listed gift card product on gifte.com.au.

      Gifte Cards can be purchased as physical plastic cards and sent via post or as digital egift cards, delivered straight to their inbox.

      Gifte cards are valid for 12 months and are available in multiple designs and values. Only one Gifte Gift Card can be redeemed per transaction.

    • Wow that's a lot of $20 gifte cards!

      • yeah I'm thinking of cancelling the order if i can only use one card per transaction

        • Yeah. I feel sorry for that seller….

        • whats the easiest way to cancel an order? Or do we have to message the seller and ask for refund?

        • oops duplicate

        • Request the seller to cancel the transaction.

        • In the event you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using this discount, the value of the discount will not be refunded to you.

    Will this one work alright with the code? It says 1 items found from Internation Ebay seller is all.

    • Yes it does work :) I should read better.

  • +1

    Has anyone tried using the code again with the same accounts? I really want to get the G3 but verification for a new paypal account will take forever. Is it possible to give it a try and if it's not successful, ask the seller for a refund?

    • don't click buy - just add to cart and see if it works

      • yeah, I did that, like when I went to proceed to checkout and use the code, it still works, but I'm being a pu$$y and can't force myself to complete order on paypal

        • If you have already redeemed the coupon once and you put it through again, it will not apply the discount and say you have already used it. 'X-NDAY: The maximum number of times this Redemption Code can be used has been reached, and it can no longer be used.' This happens at the end of the checkout just after you logon to Paypal.

          edit: guy below me said the same ha

    • +2

      Once you get to the Paypal stage it will tell you if the discount is allowed or not.

      It appears that only one discount code is allowed per Paypal account (not eBay account).

      Creating a new Paypal account is pretty easy (30 secs), provided you have a different credit card.

      • The thing was I only had one credit card, so I deleted the one I used on the first paypal and switched it over to the new one now. Thanks for your help, I was worried if I had deleted my old card I wouldn't be able to use it again, but I've just verified it so time to get cracking and bring home that G3 :)

  • got a Garmin Forerunner 620 for $352.75. Not a super duper amazing price considering eGlobal had it for around the same price last month, but a good price nonetheless. Had other items I wanted to buy, but apparently eBay separate items sold in different currencies into different transactions even if you have all of them in the cart so only applied the code to the watch purchase.

    Shaving razors! I been using one for the last 7 months because I think woolworths $25 for a 4 pack is a rip off. Bought 32 for $79 minus the 15%. So about $67.

    • +4

      So you are covered for 18.6 years now based on one lasting you for 7 months?

    • +1

      Look into traditional safety razors if you want to save money in the long run.

  • Guys big problem here. I have about 7 items in my cart across 3 different currencies. I clicked checkout and split into groups.

    If i apply the coupon now on 1st batch will it be my only chance?

    • I believe it only works on one batch(transaction) if you have committed to paying on Paypal per account.

  • X-NDAY: The maximum number of times this Redemption Code can be used has been reached, and it can no longer be used.

    All gone?????

    • THis has been happening a lot.

      'add to cart' rather than 'buy it now'

  • Does anyone know a good bang for buck welding kit, I don't know what is good or bad about them but I've always fancied welding stuff. So if anyone knows of a good kit on eBay, please let me know.

  • Wth i paid today 7.15pm via visa debit and i put in the code and no discount is showing anywhere… full amount taken from bank.

    • +5

      err this is a PAYPAL promo?? Why visa debit payment, this doesn't apply to it.

      • Not specified in the OP. Wouldnt you write PAYPAL only?

        • +2

          OP couldn't have been clearer:
          The Instructions

          Proceed to Ebay Checkout Page: Checkout: Review order
          Enter coupon code in redemption code box (bottom right) and press apply
          Press Continue and pay with paypal
          Verify in the paypal screen/system that the discount was applied before you complete your order.

  • I can confirm the sale still going as of 5 mins ago and It works per transaction and per currency.

    I had 1 massive cart of mixed aus and us currency. It wouldn't go through.

    I removed 1 type applied coupon and it went through and did it again with other currency. Code worked both times.

    • Wait, so it works multiple times if they're different currencies each time?

      • nope..dint work for me..

  • Thanks OP, grabbed some Retro games and saved $20! Very happy :)

    • What ones?

  • +10

    Just finished buying the G3.

    I made a new ebay and paypal account just to be on the safe side. All in all today, I spent $900 :( and wasted 8 hours on precious exam revision which I haven't even done. OzBargain, why u dooooo this?

    • +13

      It is a bloody addiction! Everytime the ps4 goes out of stock I'm like damn, I missed it. Then when it's back in stock I manage to convince myself not to buy it. This has been happening for 11 hours now haha

      • +1

        AHhahah strong will power you got there! I just hope we don't get one of these deals again for a long time, just for my sakes or else I'm going to end up bankrupt.

        • I've spent more recently then I liked to admit….. :(

        • Link to best G3 deal?

        • GRRR!!! PS3 back in stock again. Ive gotta stop doing this to myself.

        • http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-G3-D855-32GB-4G-LTE-SMARTPHONE…

          This is the one I went for and also some others who are from whirlpool forums. Code brings it down to $687 and possibly lower if the cashreward thing works out :)

          This is also the international version, the one which Australia will get. There's cheaper Korean models on ebay, and I didn't know which one to go for but decided international.

    • fark..why didn't I think of making a new account. Just bought new brakes discs and could have saved about $100. In hindsight(I hadn't decided what/where to get discs, I'm not an idiot :P), wasted the code for a $30 saving on pads.

      • Could've put them both in the same transaction.

        • haha yeah, but I think the discs by themselves would have reached the limit on the discount.

          I ordered the pads in the morning and didn't know which discs I was getting till the evening, wasn't actually expecting to buy them off ebay. Oh well c'est la vie

    but normally $449 on Dell website!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'd kind of like bluetooth so that rules out the cheapest dell.

    I've found these two so far:

  • If I buy 6x108.95 100 dollar gift cards whats the catch?

    • I think from the comments above, eftpos/gift cards are not covered by Paypal. So if it's lost in the mail, you might be screwed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

      • I think he only sends registered. Someone mentioned you can deposit through post office to bank?

        • I haven't had to check in ages, but from memory registered mail is only automatically insured up to $200? I might be wrong.

          Not sure about the bank part. Maybe someone can chimed in?

        • cover only $100

        • Also, not sure how many people are aware of this but you have to active all the cards in 3 months and finish using in 12 months. Might be an issue to some.

  • Few US retailers have started reducing PS4 to $350, I think $400 - $450 should be regular price soon here.
