Issues with GearBest and Going Forward

Placed two order before in gearbest and none of them got delivered.
Seems lots ppl got same problem. I don't want to see any more ppl suffer, this is why I post this "deal"
Let's warn everybody else gearbest is a scam website and suggest ozbargain to ban it!

Suggestion: what I think we can do is: can we purchase that 40 c plug via paypal and wait after 10 days. All of us make a dispute and see whether their paypal account will be locked?

  • We originally banned GearBest almost a year ago on 7/10/2015, see announcement. After discussions with the store rep over the past month and internal discussions this week we will end that ban as of now.

    GearBest formally requested their site be unbanned last month and showed us a number of changes they have made on their end to ensure their reliability/performance is up to scratch in the future, we had also been monitoring the sites performance for some time this year via deals/orders made on our New Zealand site ChoiceCheapies. Gearbest have informed us they have changed shipping methods, updated their policies and website to ensure that past issues with order delays/not being received aren't repeated.

    I'll let the Gearbest representative speak more about that if they wish, the rep there has been looking after their sister site Everbuying recently I am told.

    As always OzBargain takes no responsibility for users orders, nor has any direct involvement with any retailer. Users should exercise appropriate caution at all retailers when making any purchase.

        nah this guy here Sunny is the same guy i've been chatting to on gearbest website and he is not giving me a proper refund, they stuffed up my order and refunded me half the price, saying the delivery was not their problem. they even sent the speaker 2 times and both times stuffed it up.

  • Hi. I would like ton share my recent purchases with GB:
    H9 Action camera: the firmware was updated, allowing 4k at 25fps. Surprising for Aud 50.
    Shipping: Flat Rate. Arrived in 6 days !!!! Days, not working days.
    Pipo W1s: 3g 10" dual boot. Original English version. With screen protector. About 10 "lazy" pixels.
    Shipping: Expedited. Arrived in 10 days.
    Arduino clone. Tools. Not tested yet.
    Shipping: unregistered air mail. Took about 3 weeks.
    In my case: Flat rate > Expedited > unregistered air mail.

    Good luck if you use them.

    My one and only order with them was in July - items never received. Got lots of different excuses and dates I had to wait til. Eventually got a refund but they are just a total waste of time.

    Oh and I used "expedited shipping".

    Doesn't look like much has changed in practical terms since they were banned here.

        Not much to be done now, I just won't use you again.

        It just demonstrates that your issue with failing to deliver goods is still present as of only a few weeks ago. Plus your policies and the attitude of your customer service to dealing with such issues is still poor.

        Provide door to door tracking on all orders over $30 with a tracking site in English. That would help. Paying extra for "expedited shipping" had no impact in my experience.

        • I'm with you on this one, tried them about 6 months ago and never received the item. Ended up complaining and got a refund. Exact same situation. Never using Gearbest again.

    Just had an order shipped from GearBest. I'm impressed that they sent me a picture of the package, never had that before from any website. Will report if it arrives.

  • I just ordered a drone from Gearbest 4 days ago and today I asked on Gearbest live chat to see where it is at and they said it is out of stock, yet when I bought it the site said there was 5 in stock.

    Anyway they told me it would take 5-7 days to be sent off, I decided to continue but how true are they usually with that? Will it be sent after 5-7 or just go on and on?

    I paid extra for faster shipping as I got some holidays soon and I want my item by then, no chance of that now. Disappointed I paid extra for nothing.

  • Ordered drone parts on the 08/09/16. Tracking stops on the 12/09/16 "En route to DHL eCommerce Distribution Center SINGAPORE"!!!

    • 21 days isn't abnormal for Chinese sites like GearBest, I'm surprised they even gave you a tracking number. Let us know if it comes.

  • These companies (Everbuying, Gearbest) don't seem to know what they are talking about as in they will tell you stock will come in 5-10 days and when 10 days come along they will say another 7-13 days to go, thanks for your patience.

    I have communicated this with your rep and they have advised me that the shipping company has lost the item (lost in transit).
    Now your rep asked me to pay for third of the price to send another item to me or refund of 1/4 of the full price on something that I have not received.

    Note: I have paid shipping insurance and paid the shipping fee to get my Item post using express shipping. But they still asking me for more money of the Item that I've not receive.

    Guys this is very unprofessional. I'm sorry gearbest you are not very trusted.

    Currently I've passed my case with Paypal in hope they can block Gearbest account until this matter sorted.

  • I think the unbanning may have been premature. Recently bought from them:
    Main item they delivered a level of Tablet below that ordered so missing keyboard and stylus then claimed that was what I ordered. Link on my order from them clearly goes to item including keyboard and stylus

    Also bout mouse (along lines of "those who bought this tablet also bought". Surprised to receive full size mouse and when tablet finally arrived even more surprised that there were no compatible connections.

    why the comment closed ? it meant for testing gearbest "new" postage service after the ban, seems suspicious when people start commenting that they haven't receive it after more than a month.

      Deals posted 45 days ago or older OR where there hasn't been a comment for 2 weeks will be automatically closed for commenting.

  • Gearbest 'Auspost' tracking is odd.

    It never tracks through the aus post portal even though they give you a tracking number.

    I used a site i found on whirlpool and managed to track it.

    Any one have the same experience?

    • Yep, very similar experience. Although I have purchased a number of items from Gearbest, and Banggood, and have used either http://www.eslink88.com/ or the amservices.net address as the Aus Post one does not recognize the CAXXX tracking numbers.

      Although I have never had anything not arrive. although one did take about 8 weeks.

  • Two days ago I requested Gearbest to cancel an order after 45 minutes, I cancelled another order with an Australian website in the exact same manner.
    Gearbest responded after 12 hours and said we will intercept before it is shipped but tomorrow morning it got shipped, I went back to ask why and 12 hours later they said, you requested too late (45 mins too late!!!) vs. the other web site canceled right after they got the email and refunded.
    Gearbest is now offering 5USD to compensate!! Compensate what?!
    Not happy with the response time and the customer service, I won't go back to Gearbest, won't recommend it to anyone ever again.

  • I can see why people would have a problem with GearBest… the website is a shocker!
    I'm totally confused with the shipping methods,
    e.g. on a <$50 order where I selected the "priority line" shipping method which is supposedly quicker than "Registered airmail" and "Unregistered airmail" at 7-14 business days vs 15-31 business days.

    I ordered on the 18th (GB server time) and it was packed and "shiped out" on the 20th, however, it has not been marked as "Product Dispatch"…
    On the GB site it says:-

    How has this order been shipped, via what carrier and what service? I'm really hoping it isn't "Australia Post Registered"
    Has this order actually left the warehouse or is it sitting waiting to be collected by the carrier still?

      I bought Xiaomi mi laser projector last week for AU$ 2600 and after 5-6h i made up my mind and let Gearbest know that i forgot about Australian tax and that i will pay anoter 10% on top of that and i really need to cancel the order…..immediatly i am getting an e-mail stating that the projector was shipped out with such HKDHL tracking order….tried to track it and it says its not existing number…What da f is going ooooon….paid to much money and not being in control at all.
      This is the e-mail i`ve got on 19.12.17 and bought the item on 18.12.17:
      'Please note that your reference number is 9*********5. Please keep this number safe and secure in case you need to refer to it later.

      I have sent them 5 e-mails already and hey suppose to ge back to you after 24h,but still after 3 days nothing.Bought 5-6 items before like some android boxes,watches,but it was not so expencive item like this projector…dont know what else to do??
      Next week will contact Pay Pal and ask for my money back or at least they will let PayPal know whats the go

    • I also had a similar experience at checkout - selecting registered airmail because shipping time was stated at 5-12 days from Singapore. Now my order says 10-25 days… Its been a month and still received nothing. They actually took 10 days just to ship it. Apalling service. Should be banned again.

    I went with the Ozbargain promo of Gearbest Mini Octopus Style Mobile Phone Stand on the 14/11/2017. The item never arrived.
    Because the order was a very small part of my life, and with Xmas just passed, I finaly got the chance to check that everything I had ordered had arrived..

    Like it is a 57 cent order so no big deal right? Well it is my 57 cents and I want what I paid for or a refund.
