good if they do send out my giftcards…

  • bought on ebay but hvae not received a code?

  • Sorry do you have a link to the T & Cs? Cannot find it on Gifte's website. Thx

  • Hi All, just a word of caution - I remembered seeing a topic posted about people getting charged cash advance fees for purchasing gift cards through paypal on 25/06/2014 (may have been a glitch as paypal usually shouldn't do this and it should appear as a regular purchase) but it might "pay" to check this before purchasing as you may get stung with a cash advance fee and then also have to pay your entire credit card balance off if you had signed up for your credit card before the reforms came into effect. Cheers ( see this link for the topic: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/150255 )

    Which cinema?

    • If you check the animation on the website, it's for Village/Events Cinemas/Greater Union/Burch.

      • Cool. Didn't come up on the mobile website thingy

For those who aren't familiar with how cash advances work (and please correct if wrong), prior to the reforms which took place in July 2012, if you had signed up for your credit card before then and a cash advance was on your credit card e.g. withdrawing cash at an ATM from your credit card, gambling etc, that amount would be paid off LAST when making repayments on your card (meaning if you had for example a $20 cash advance and previously had a balance of $1000 on your card, simply paying off the $20 would not rid you of the interest you would have to pay for the cash advance which is generally charged at a higher rate and from the day you made the cash advance - you would have to pay back the ENTIRE balance of $1020). After the reforms (and only if you signed up for your credit card after the reforms), when you make a payment on your credit card, the payment pays off the "MOST EXPENSIVE PART OF YOUR CREDIT CARD DEBT FIRST" but you would still be charged the cash advance fee (unless otherwise stated in your credit card contract). And as usual, this is general advice only - please seek advice from a qualified financial planner for your personal financial needs.

    GOOD BARGAIN

Bought 7x$100 Gifte Gift Card for $613.65 after 15% Off….

Just Redeemed all 7 gift cards received last week for $700 Eftpos… Instead of $5.05 fees on each redeemtion Im just telling myself Im paying $35.35 for 7 Village Movie Tickets

    • how come you already received your giftcard? mine has not been sent out yet :(

      • I made my order early :) received the giftcards by registered post last Thursday or Friday… forgot exactly which date

    • I don't think that would count as a purchase on gifte.com.au, as you are redeeming a gifte gift card, rather than purchasing a brand new voucher. Although the T&C's don't go into that much detail.

But put this way. If you buy a Gifte Gift Card on gifte.com.au and get a movie voucher, you wouldn't expect to get a second movie voucher when you redeem the Gifte Gift Card for another Gift Card. If they do, then that's great :)

      • Called and confirm it counts…. All purchases for Digital or Physical Gift Cards over $100 get a FREE MOVIE TICKET.

FYI, The system won't let you to buy a Gifte Gift Card on gifte.com.au using a Gifte Gift Card.. SO NO LOOPS!
(the system only let you purchase Gifte Gift Card by Credit Card, and you can purchase any other cards by Gifte Gift Card or Credit Card)

        • thanks …just got some of the movie vouchers now :) wasn't expecting them so that's great.

        • Did you really get them using the egift cards from ebay ? I redeemed two of them but no code with the movie voucher yet … 3 days already … :"(

        • Yes the movie codes came a couple days after via email. Although i had problems with gifte checkout (when changing my gifte cards from ebay sale to eftpos) so i got movie vouchers for some of the cards but not the others yet. Used 2 of the movie vouchers in weekend with no trouble (cannot be used after 5pm sat).

  • Do they have a postage charge? if not works out around $4.95 for a movie ticket if you get the eftpos card. Pretty good.

    • not unless you shell out for express
They do charge 2% extra for CC payments, which kills it a bit, but hopefully there is alternative payment methods

      • +1

CC payments is the ONLY payment method… But it is okay for me, cause I purchased with $100 Giftcard, only need to pay the 2% for $4.95, which is rounded up to $5.05

    • It depends on what card you purchase, Digital Gift Cards are FREE POSTAGE.. so you purchase $100 JB Digital Gift Cards get a voucher without postage fees… (There are digital giftcards for JB Hifi, Flightcentre, David Jones, REBEL, etc.)

      Physical Gift Cards COST $4.95

      • I got charged 5.05$ as well … Sigh .. Bought 1200 in order to get 1400 but after this only 1330 … Oh well 130 profit is not too bad I guess …

        • Lucky You.. You bought the $100 Gifte Gift Card for $100?? I bought it for $101.95 :(

  • Is it possible to redeem the eftpos cards as credit into your bank account using Bank@post? I remember reading something about this..

Are these the same bastards that raised their prices to cash in on the 15% off Ebay sale?
