3x30 375ml Cans of Schweppes Softdrink Varieties for $36 Woolworths Nationwide

580

First deal post ever! Hope it hasn't already been uploaded (I already checked but it could have been posted while I was writing this), if so please forgive me!

Was just at Woolworths Inala QLD and saw this deal. 90 cans of Schweppes varieties for $36 (40c/can). A steal if you ask me! (and a great way to get Diabetes). I didn't buy any as I already bought the Coke deal in the catalogue so didn't check expiry dates. Buy at your own risk!

Not sure if it is also available in other Woolworths so check them for yourselves.

Edit: crayner has kindly informed me that this is a national special, so everyone go get Diabetes!

    It is a national special, rather than a store specific mark down. I wouldn't concern yourself with BB dates.

      Thanks for letting me know! =) I'll edit the post to reflect that.

      This was on special last week (week ending the 1st July); so it is only while stocks last, no rainchecks should be issued as these are not a standard line.

    Buy at your own risk!

    Absolutely. Anytime you travel to Inala, you are at risk.

      One day if they advertise 10000 cans for 1cent each are you going to use the same argument? A deal is a deal if it's a deal. Find a friend and share it ifu tthink it's too much.

      • We're talking about cans at 40c each here. It's not a bargain - what's the normal price - 50c??

        • -1

          They last for a while though so for people who have a few per month it's pretty good value.

        • -5

          24 cans at Coles are currently selling for $12 (50c each). To have to buy 90 vs 24 just for a measly 20% discount is pathetic. For a business like a restaurant or fast food shop who sell dozens of these a day, it's a good deal. For an individual, it sucks.

          @MrZ:
          a 20% bargain on EBAY gets 3000 votes.

          20% off cans, negs.

          @GreatWhiteHunter:

          If that eBay deal required you to buy 90 items (of the same thing!) to get 20% off, it would not have got even 5 votes.

        • -1

          @MrZ: You're not buying a quantity of 90 to get 20% off. You're buying a quantity of 3.75 to get 20% off (90 / 24).

          Buying 3.75 of something for a 20% discount is not bad.

          @MrZ:

          So you rather save 20% on something you don't necessarily need than to save 20% on a everyday consumable that will almost be guaranteed to be consumed?

          What I bought on eBay with the discount may end up being my 2014 confession, I bought it coz it was cheap, not coz I needed.
          These cans will be, I bought it like it was toilet paper, I'll drink them sooner or later, may as well pay 20% less.

          @MrZ: You've previously stated "You should never have to buy 24 of something to get good value", yet clearly the vast majority of people disagree with you (then and now).

          Personally, I find it incredibly convenient. I have around 100 cans of various soft drink in my "drinks fridge", and even more in reserve. It's not like they "go off" in a hurry, and they are exceptionally handy for entertaining. You can even take advantage of the various free delivery options and never have to leave your house. Arguing that these deals are "primarily designed for the hospitality industry" and "Regular consumers do not buy these ridiculously large packs" is absurd.

          @youknow: Here's an idea. Instead of having 100 cans, have you ever considered getting, oh, you know, about 20 2-litre bottles and some plastic cups?!

        • @MrZ: The cans are a better solution for me, more convenient, never flat, and recyclable. It's beside the point, some people prefer cans. For them, this is a deal. It's not appropriate negging every time someone posts a deal for a slab/carton of cans. Go post/upvote a deal on 2L bottles.

        • @youknow:

          Your points are valid but my main argument is that the discount here is simply not enough for it to be considered a bargain. In the USA, for example, a common deal on 12-packs is buy 2, get 2 free - in other words, you have to buy 48, but you get 50% off (working out to less than 15c per can. Of course, the exact price is not relevant, but the level of discount is).

  • Posted a couple of weeks ago with a few other deals (expired). https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/149865
    Seems like Woolies are still stocked up and want to clear.

  • Can titled be edited to reflect it is a national deal, not just qld.

    • +1

      Yeah now that I know it's nation wide, I've changed the title to reflect that. Thanks!

  • Nice effort first up Jackymon!

  • Anyone know when this deal ends?

    • +1

      8/7 as per the picture

  • inc pepsi max?

    • I would also like to know this…

      • Solo, Pepsi, Pepsi max and Schweppes Lemonade.

  • These are a non-standard line at Woolworths and offer will only last as long at the stock does.
    All stores get allocated quantities, so if your local runs out check the next closest store for stock.
    Most stock has a BB date of December 2014.
    You can Mix and match aswell. eg, Buy one pepsi max, one solo and a lemonade.
    Single Price is $15. 2 for $30 3 for $36

  • Was just at the local Woolworths and had no 30 packs or any mention of the special either. ;_;

    • They must be out of stock then? Was just at Woolworths Kelvin Grove and they still had the deal on there.

  • +1

    So it's pretty much $27 if you take all the cans to the can depot in SA :)

  • These will last me many a month. Thanks for the heads up, OP.
