Terrible interest rate on these, from memory.

  • I still prefer the Coles Source Master Card, no annual fee at all.

    Annual fee?!?! Yuck

  • -1

they got to be joking. why would i be using their card when i already am earning 1.5x flyer points on every single dollar spent. even a ANZ FF card has more value to dollar when compared with the annual fee.

talk about no annual, westpac has got a no-annual card, and i believe there are a couple more banks that does that.

Mate, it's all about the free $30

  • Is it easy to cancel the card after one year? Or maybe they could waive the annual fee after that?

  • This is a worse deal than before - got $50 credit instead of $30, and also got 10c off petrol at ePump until June 09.

  • beware you can't just cancel the card over the phone or go in to woolworths to do it.
I miss out on the $50 by just one day and I was told I could only cancel it by mail!

    • and they don't even have a cancel form, you have to do it in writing.
      waste of time!^$#*#@

      • haha, you cant really blame them for making it harder for you to take advantage of them!!!

  • Annual fee?!?! sucks

  • Caveat Emptor

    Negatives:
I sought to have this card cancelled when I was seeking a home loan.

This process took many months. I was told on several occasions that the cancellation had taken place when it had not.

I risked my lenders falling through, since they thought I was deceiving them about the cancellation.

I exceeded my phone cap on the numerous long calls to resolve the issue. It cost quite a bit of money and firmly established an aversion to their (particularly and overtly innaccurate) jingle "Woolworths the fresh food people"; which was played over and over again for hours.

The call centre staff and supervisors made promises and assurances that they did not keep.

I received no apology despite their acknowledgement of being wrong.

    Positives:
Call centre staff were relatively helpful with reversing inappropriate fees on an earlier occasion.

  • who can u complain to? is there like a financial service ombudsman?

  • Yes you can complain to the financial service ombudsman but first u need to talk to Everydaymoney card to try to resolve it. Just ask to speak to a supervisor or manager there. the card is issued by HSBC. I had the same issue to cancel a Hsbc card a couple of years ago i had to fax them a letter which is absolute rubbish. My woolies card has an annual fee due in October and the rewards money card is only posted out in November. Dam i'm going to call up in October and threaten to cancel it unless they waive the fee. I originally applied on woolies staff application with my old employee no. which had a no annual fee for life offer for Woolies staff but i had already quit my DSE job so they instead gave me a card with a annual fee after 1 year. I heard from another friend he got he's waived for life after demanding to have it in writing before proceeding with the application. Is there anyone out there that has gotten the annual fee waived successfully?

  • I applied on that same page and they said that I did not click on the proper link and the promo code did not match. Loads of bullshit
