Dick Smith Surge Interceptor 8-Way Surge Board $20.44 and $4.95 for Delivery

1260

Please note as tomsco pointed out if you add the item to your cart and check out, it's still $20.44
Price is now $69.98 in cart on DSE site, but eBay price is still $20.44

I bought one of these these Dick Smith Surge Interceptors when it was previously on sale and have been keeping an eye out because I wanted to get another. They've been posted on OzBargain quite a few times so I guess they are quite popular, see here. Postage for me in Melbourne works out to $4.95. I believe they haven't been as cheap as this in over a year and I'm not sure when this deal ends.

  • As hollykryten pointed out, this is also available on their eBay Store

  • As eecan mentioned if you are buying more than one, postage for mulitples is still $4.95 on the eBay store, whereas it's $4.95 per item on the Dick Smith website.

  • A few people have said buying from Dick Smith's eBay store is more reliable than their online store.

    • Main website.

      • Well ordered mine through the eBay store at 10:30pm Thursday 17/07/2014 one of the first orders on eBay #21 out of 487 i believe. No product and no shipping email. Probably get an email in about 3 weeks time saying out of stock and offer to substitute with an inferior wrong branded power board that's nothing like what was ordered.

I mean seriously order #21 on eBay and still no sign of the product 5 days later. Get with it Dicky Smith.

        • Sorry to rub salt in the wound, but I also got free shipping going via the main website.

Maybe it's time to give the eBay store a neg and stick with the website?

        • @tomsco:

Sounds like it. Here i am still waiting for my order to even be sent not far from a week since the order. I guess it doesn't pay to order early not when it comes to Dick Smith and their backwards way of processing orders. Just remember as i found out it seems when it comes to Dick Smith online like late orders come first and early buyers come last.

A day ago i sent an email to Dick Smith through the eBay messaging system and no response.

My suspicions is that soon there will be an email come saying sorry insufficient stock even though i was order number 21.

    • Ebay store, from what i can tell i'm order number 476? Ordered at about 9am friday morning.

      • Typical. I was order number 21 on thursday night. Dick Smith going through the orders backwards. It seems the late comers come first and the early buyers are shafted as last. No sign yet of my order turning up but by the time they get to it they'll likely be out of stock. The same happened with the Pioneer SE-MJ511 headphone debacle. It's a last come first served basis alright.

  • I ordered from eBay and they shipped it on Sunday and sent an email. Coming by Startrack thought it would be here today but nope.

    • Mine came about midday perth time for me :)

      Ordered off ebay.

  • Just got this email from Dick Smith after sending a message. Typical it's out of stock even though i was one of the very first buyers on the thursday night of this on eBay. Dick Smith must have the worst stock control and order processing system i've seen. It seems they actually process orders in backwards order. Those that actually order the latest have a higher chance of actually getting it first over those that ordered many hours earlier. I can see their eBay feedback is going to take another negative feedback hit.

"Thank you for taking time to email Dick Smith Online.

In relation to your enquiry, please be informed that unfortunately the item ordered is currently on back order awaiting stock arrival.

We regret to inform you that we are unable to provide you with an estimated time of delivery.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused."

    • Bummer. You gonna neg?

      • Probably. Dick Smith at it again making sales for what they don't even have sufficient stock for in the first place. Happens every time.

      • Just noticed my order was issued an invoice today which is promising. But gee it took them over a week just to issue an invoice. And i was just given a $10 no min spend voucher credit out of the blue which is a bit of a coincidence. Came in handy for today's free freight friday. Ordered 2 x Polaroid A4 20pk photo paper for free :)

Ohwell at least i got some thing from my troubles.

  • Well my power board recently arrived finally. Only took Dick Smith a week and a half to supply it when others who ordered half a day later were getting theirs like 2 days after purchase… Gave them a neutral feedback on ebay for the very slow delivery.

    • well, I still don't have mine after nearly two weeks now……

      • Yes the Dick Smith ordering system seems strange. People only getting part of their orders yet others getting more than what they ordered.

      • I ordered one. In the end received two of the Surge Interceptors. Not bad for $25.39 :)

  • Ordered on 18/7, received today 05/8
Just got mine… so probably not long for others
