    Remember 2% cashback.
Hoping for a 15% or 20% deal on sunday to make the deal sweeter ;)

    • +6

Wonder which category we can find the mobile phone in this weekend lol.

    • is there any hint that there will be another one?

    • Does Qwibble really do cashbacks for ebay? I can't find the link.

    • I have over $50 waiting in 2% cash backs with more to come in less then a month! Now times that by 98….Damn you ozbargain!!!

      • +1

        you mean 50

        • -1

Yes I know was trying to over exaggerate :)

  • +7

True eBay bargain = Group Deals + Sunday Deals + 2% cashback

    • +3

Funnily enough I've forgotten to use the cash back on last two Sundays, could've gotten 30 bucks, so ashamed :p

  • anyone has experience with the company for the 1yr warranty down the track? fleabay showed registered in taiwan

    • +1

i emailed DWI yesterday asking them to do a deal for this phone

They offered $649 which is better than anything on ebay until today

ive asked them to price match/beat because of warranty

    • Something smells fishy here…

  • I got myself a LG G Pro 2 Phone that's almost the same as the G3 on the previous deal for $352.80 with 2% cash back. Not sure if the "smaller" but higher rez screen is worth almost twice the price!

    • +4

there is more difference than the screen mate search it up

        http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/LG-G3,LG-G-Pro-2/ph…

CPU is a few 100 more Mhz
and the OS is 4.4.2 vs 4.4
        nothing worth twice the price

        • lg g3 has the laser auto focus system, and also the improved back buttons

        • Most important one you didn't mention (or may be intentionally omit):

          Expandable storage VS Non-expandable storage

        • +1

          @wildstone:

Are you sure. I also grabbed lg g pro 2 and believe you can. the g2 however you cannot from memory

        • +7

so far in every phone thread you have posted in, youve shown that you know nothing about phones

instead you are so price concious that you blindly go after the sub $400 phones expecting too much

Now that youve committed to the LG G pro 2, youre trying to justify that it was worth it over the G3 thats less than double the price

Let me put it this way

you get what you pay for

but when it comes to phones there is an upper and lower ceiling

Last gen phones usually quickly depreciate to the $300 mark for new
and new gen phones hover around the $550-600+ mark for new

Unfortunately usually the difference in features and performance is not actually double, it is still usually a significant improvement otherwise nobody would ever consider buying it.

THe processor and screen are the two main differentiating factors

So is a 40% increase in real world processing performance and better screen and camera worth 40% premium in price?

That is up to each person to deterine whether the alternative to wait 1 year of your life to upgrade to equivalent specs is worth it or not

so you'll never get the best phone for what you paid for the G Pro 2
but at the same time the current gen Flagships are worth their premium

        • Also consider that the GPU is only an Adreno 330 and it has a LOT of pixels to push around for this desktop display squished into a phone.

Don't expect the same gaming performance form this device vs the 1080p competition/predecessors (if you're into playing games on your phone).

Word on the street is that the difference between 1080p and 1440p screens at this density are not really discernible - so don't jump in just for the OMGZ dE piXELs rush.

Looks like a great phone still, if this doesn't concern you!

        • @wildstone:

LG G Pro 2 has a slot for micro SD slot up to 64gb
G3 also has micro SD slot

LG G Pro 2 is the flagship LG Phablet that competes with the Samsung Not 3 Phablet
The LG G3 phone is the flagship LG Phone that competes directly with the Samsung S5 Phone
I have no idea what your going on about! I'm not talking about the "LG G2" previous gen.

Both the The LG G3 and LG G Pro 2 are the latest products at the top of their market category of 5" phone and 6" Phablet

Check out the link.. both these phones are LG's latest and greatest. ( NEW )

I got myself a LG G Pro 2 Phone that's almost the same as the G3

          All of my what

        • @furythree:
Not to get into an argument but vid_ghost has a point. The LG g pro 2 has only been out a few months and technically is not last gen. It will be I guess in September when the note 4 eventually comes out since this would be the competing phone. Doing some research it looked like the lg g pro 2 was more expensive then the Note 3 overseas not long ago however the note 3 is still twice the price for a very similar phone (minus the S pen) mostly because it is more popular I assume. The LG pro 2 is a pretty competitive phone for the price point especially. Sure the LG g3 has some extras as new phones do but it does not make the g pro 2 obsolete by no means for most phone users.

Your argument would be much better suited for the HTC one MAX compared to the HTC one M* which is what I was comparing and found the M8 would be worth the price difference. With the LG pro 2 and the G3 not so much unless you are really keen on the new features

        • @wildstone: Most important missing feature from the G Pro 2 which meant I didn't end up buying one is the lack of FM radio…

I think the G Pro 2 does have microSD expandable storage?

        • also better CPU, better design

        • -1

yeh but for tech savvys the qhd screen is worth the upgrade alone.

        • +2

          @Dany34:

The LG g pro 2 has only been out a few months and technically is not last gen

generation is not determined by released date but by hardware

          LG G Pro 2:

          Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974

Thats last gen akin to Nexus 5 era

          Current gen is Snapdragon 801

If Asus released a Pentium 4 laptop Today, would you still call it "Current gen"?

        • @xyron:

App store = FREE FM Radio .. i dont get it

        • +3

          @furythree:

          WHAT THE!!!!

800 and 801 are the "SAME" CPU and both are still on 28nm - ( Terrible P4 analogy )

          Same product different stepping.
          800 v1 silicon
801 v2 silicon its a second fabrication of the same product! for better yelds and more Mhz .. this is done with Intel and AMD all the time as a product matures they release updated versions with higher clock speeds on both CPU, internal GPU and memory bus frequency.

          http://www.anandtech.com/show/7846/the-difference-between-sn…

"A couple of weeks ago at MWC, Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon 801 which was positioned as a speed bump for the next wave of flagship smartphones"

        • @striker5950:

New manufacturing stepping of the exact same CPU with bumped up clocks on cpu, gpu and bus.

        • @Dany34:

My bad I thought ghost was referring to G2. Yeah in that case they both have expandable.

        • +1

@striker5950: I'm tech savvy so I recognise the QHD is a waste of battery and graphics processing power on a display of this size. It is a mistake to put a QHD display on a screen of this size at this point in time. Games will run worse on it and the battery drain will be significant while performing anything graphical (screen on time)

        • -1

@vid_ghost: err, no, the LG G2 Pro does not have FM Radio hardware in the phone. any "FM Radio" app uses the data connection to get radio.

        • @furythree:

so you'll never get the best phone for what you paid for the G Pro 2

Not quite sure what you mean by that? So you're saying for the price they paid for the G Pro 2, they're not getting the best phone available?

        • @93_infinity:

i mean dont expect to buy the latest flagship for the price of the G pro 2 he paid ($375 ish)

        • @furythree: Ah I see what you meant. I guess you have to balance out having the fastest phone vs getting a good deal (subjective) for a phone, though it seems the trends are the performance for a top of the line flagship and those of yesteryear is not as great as it used to be.

    • +1

Wish if I didn't snooze on the G Pro 2 on Sunday :(

      Epic price

      Hopefully another deal comes along..

      • you saved yourself some money .. ^__^ its not all bad

    • +1

Depends. If you read a language with more detailed characters than the Latin alphabet then 1440p and higher smartphone screens are very important.

I like small print. On current hi rez screens I find text to be either blocky or grey and blurry. A few fonts even have a mild anaglyph 3D effect. I want smooth, high contrast, print like text on my devices without the disadvantages of e-ink.

But I agree, at this price the G3 makes no sense. A Samsung S5 LTE-A (with snapdragon 805) would be a better upgrade as you won't notice the performance loss moving from 1080p to 1440p.

  • Topbuy has the 16gb for $560.75 + $26 shipping. Cheapest I could find.
Now that the phone can take micro SD cards I wonder if this 32gb is worth the extra ~$50 (assuming there is no 15% - 20% Sunday discount)

    • +4

Only 32gb version has 3gb ram

    • If the difference in price between the 16GB and 32GB version is less than $50, it is definitely better to get the 32GB one due to the extra ram and storage. SD card is good but generally it is slower than the internal storage.

  • +1

These are great phones, I got one when ebay had the 15% off everything offer.

Just beware it is picky about what QI charger you can use. I initially purchased the cheapest one I could find but it didn't work and I had to buy another. Other people on xda-developers have had the same issue.

  • -1

Ok first of all, what's this 2% cashback about that I've seen people lately talk about?

Also, these top buy phones - grey import same as Bogan? Exempt from GST and henceforth NG for TRS?

Missed out on the G Pro 2 due to recticular activities so here's hoping there will be 20% on the G3 this weekend…

    • +2

2% rebate on ebay purchases at cashrewards.com.au

      • Thanks for that. Come on 20%…

    • (edit: deleted) - beaten to the punch by daveaus :)

  • -6

the only downside about this phone is 5.5 inch screen…just way too big for my liking…5 inch is just perfect!

  • Bring on the sub-$600 deals and I'll be on one of these like a malnourished OzBargainer on half-price cup-a-soups.

    • half-price doesn't cut it. 85cents is my max for cup-a-soups

  • +2

can anyone advise if the LG G3 wld work on the Vodaphone 4g network as i think only optus & telstra supports 4G connection for the LG G3

    • I wants to know as well.

    • +1

Noone said it has 32GB RAM.

    • LG G3 32GB 3GB RAM eBay Group Deal @ $639

      Are you missing something?

    • Wow you really don't read the tiltle properly.
Here is what the title says

      LG G3 32GB 3GB RAM

  • Oh man, got this for $689 like 2-3 weeks ago… dem feels :(

But this phone is a bloody winner, you will not be disappointed and for $639, that's a great price.

  • -6

you might want to consider Oneplusone http://oneplus.net/ as it is considered to be a Android Flagship killer (Running on cyanogenmod 11s base on Android 4.4 kitkat). I have checked a few youtube bloggers claiming Oneplusone is quite good (price $299USD for 16GB or $349USD for a 64GB model plus shipping). Invitation only at the moment.

    http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/mobile-phone/3523331/lg-g…

    • +2

then post one here which sells that super hyped phone.

    • Why the negs? From everything I've seen the oneplusone is a great phone.

      • yep, and half the price.

      • +2

        A great mythical phone…

For $440 landed, I'd much rather a G2, N5 or even spend the extra $80 for a Z2 (20% off on ebay over the weekend).

    • +1

"Consider" would actually mean that you have a chance at getting one..

    • I actually got an invite but still can't buy because they do not ship to Australia yet, so, I am still waiting to get my hand on one.

  • Battery life on the G3 is apparently a real step down from the G2…that makes me a bit apprehensive to pull the trigger on this one

A good deal nonetheless, so a + from me

    • Zerolemon it! Have the 10,000mah batt on a note 3 and it's one monster brick of a power bank. Disgustingly big and heavy but goes for 2 days straight. Never have to top up charge during the day or be afraid of running out of juice.

    • Both CPU's are still manufactured on 28nm so the slower one will used less power! no surprise there!

    • Yeh I've found battery life to be average. Get barely a fulls day use with wifi/data/bluetooth/auto brightness and decent screen time but again it's based on your on usage. Major plus side is the extra battery (comes with the korean model), always lug one around just in case :)

      • Apparently the screen is a HUGE power hog…the only other 1440p screen is the Oppo Find 7, and even that gets much worse battery life than it's "Find 7a" sibling with a 1080p screen…

I think for the current SoCs, 1080p is a good balance of performance/battery life…this is a step backwards and a substantial one.

  • Got the G3 32gb for $618 during the ebay %15 sale, I can vouch that its a very nice phone! I think its easily the best looking phone out at the moment, huge screen + no bezel + QHD + metallic finish is just beautiful.

    • Was that the korean version?

  • +1

And the iPhone 6 is rumoured to come out with 1GB ram (unchanged from iPhone 5)… RIP Apple

Some people may understate the need for RAM when it makes the biggest difference for smartphones running multiple apps.

    • I think Apple will still be around for a long time to come, there are a lot of people liking Iphone for all sort of reasons and I think it is going to stay the same for a while. I have an Iphone 4 before, must be 4 years but once I got the Note 1, I just can't go back to the tiny screen of the Iphone. My current phone is a Note 3 and LG G2 and still have the original Note 1(Note 1 is lagging badly now due to the limited 1GB ram)

    • +2

You can't view a 5MP Photo without the iPhone running out of RAM. It needs 2GB.

      • -1

HUH? 5MP image uncompressed depending on file format will be in the range of 5 - 50MB, we're talking a few orders of magnitude less than 2GB.

  • Can anyone confirm if this is grey stock? It is slightly confusing that you can return to the vendor but they get LG to repair it.

  • +1

DWI has now dropped their pricing of the G3 to $638 delivered. No need to hold out for minimum amount of buyers on the group deal as you can buy it now immediately!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-G3-D855-32GB-4G-LTE-SMARTPHONE…

    • Well deal is on now, so yeah.

  • +3

Only 26 muppets bought this. Rest are clever ozbargainers waiting for 20% ebay off.

    • Hopefully there's another one coming soonish….

      • If not soon then guaranteed in Xmas…..I wanna buy this or S5 provided cost under $550. Also will keep my eyes on iPhone 6 and iOS8 jailbreak

    • Nah, eBay isn't going to launch another 20% off for this month. Trust me, I got this info from a reliable source.

  • Ugh I hate you guys, you're making me want a new phone. I must admit I am getting a little sick of my Nexus 5's crap battery life. Seriously considering making the plunge.

  • -4

    Terrible display… GOOD PRICE

  • This phone will probably be sub $500 soon enough. You can get a 1+1 for around $450 too.

    • Out of curiosity how do you buy that? Still by invite only?

    • I doubt this, even G2 still around $400, i m waiting for G2 to go below $300, and will get that for sure, after playing with one in the shop, i m quite impressed.

      • I wouldn't be surprised to see once demand drops, since they are bringing out a version with the 805. http://m.gsmarena.com/lg_g3_cat_6_goes_official-news-9100.ph…

      • Best phone i ever had … is a LG G2 ..!

Have a look at this photo of mine: https://twitter.com/JulianLitcanu/status/456952310963249152/…

        • That's awesome. Think you've just swung me the G2 way. No point having that much more horsepower in the G3 with substantially less batt life.

          I see Jb have a local model G2 for under $500. Hmm…

        • @highon2str:

The G3 doesn't have much more horsepower at all. A couple of hundred mhz extra clockspeed is hardly anything especially when the processor/gpu has to push around a hell of a lot more pixels, if anything it will offer less performance than the G2. That being said, there's a few things the G3 has going for it over the G2 that are worth considering, such as expandable memory and laser focus camera etc.

Also judging by the small performance gains by chips like the 805, I am hoping that the tegra k1 adds some competition and lives up to its benchmark performance. It seems people are easily fooled into thinking adding a couple of hundred mhz and increasing the chip naming number = a huge jump in performance. Lack of competition doesn't help.

        • @Ronnnie: But the screen and camera of the G3 is much better though.

  • +1

any1 knows where to buy genuine quick circle case? I live in Melbourne, any online stores can work as well :)

  • Thanks OP! Have been waiting for a good deal for this phone, just bought the gold.

  • Do I need this if I have a Nexus 5?
If so, what are the reasons for justifying it?

    • +1

no need! wait another year or so for better phones.
