Good deal, but only if you're right-handed.

These are awesome. I have one on my desktop and another for my laptop. Takes a couple hours to get your brain used to it then it's the preferred way from then on. Because you don't move the device across a surface it means its great where space is limited (like on a train or when you have piles of ozbargained samples and freebies piling up on your desk).

If only Microsoft would make the original Trackball Explorer again. That was the best mouse ever!

These are good if you've got a sore wrist…rather then give up your hobby, grab one of these to give Mrs Palmer a well deserved rest during business hours.

    • is it confusing to switch between the two?

      • I switch between regular mouse and a trackball at work, my brain doesn't get confused :)
I find regular mouse is still better if I'm drawing diagrams in Visio, for pretty much everything else I use the trackball.

      • Best move i ever made 3 months ago… Although i didn't feel any wrist pain, now when switching back to a regular mouse at work, i instantly feel the hard work my wrist make … Also increased productivity.

        MUCH MUCH better now.

        I totally recommend !

  • These kind of stuff you really want local warranty. Local stock around $55. I wouldn't go stingy on less than $10

  • It has been cheaper than this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/131028

  • i use one of these to control my computer from my bed

  • I have a brand new in package for 35AUD if anybody want this, Melbourne local pickup only.

    • I'll take it.

    • ^ i'll take it if skd100 doesn't!

  • How does this mouse compare to the finger trackman mouse (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-000806-Trackman-Marble-Mo…)

I have never owned a trackball mouse before, only ever used the traditional mouse with my most recent being the Razer Deathadder.

    • that one is a finger trackball (you use your fingers for movement, and thumb for clicking), while this is a thumb trackball (you use your thumb for movement, and fingers for clicking like a regular mouse).

which is better/more comfortable is probably a thing of personal preference i'd think (although, i've personally never used either!).

      • Thanks for your reply Caprimulgus. I suspect the thumb trackball will be easier for me considering it is more similar to a regular mouse.

        • i use the thumb trackball and i absolutely love it! (Started 3 months ago to use it).

The first 2 weeks are a little bit harder after that… you will never go back.

        • In my experience the finger trackballs are easier because you can get a few fingers on it.

        • @Jam0864:

Jam which one would you recommend for the finger trackball? I'm thinking of just buying both and giving them a whirl :)

        • @djevoultion:

Logitech Marble Mouse is quite good and cheap.

I'm assuming Logitech Australian Warranty doesn't apply on this does it?

  • I have owned a few generations of this trackball. they are awesome once you get use to it. This one the best of all.

I am purchasing this second one for my work. I cant stand regular mice now.

    highly recommend it..

  • For some reason it doens't ship to WA?

    • u need to select Amazon as the seller. It's showing Paxishop on yours

  • Hi padman, I have encountered the same problem, how can I change to Amazon as the seller? Could you please advise? Much appreciated.

    • On the right hand side of the screen you will see 'other sellers on amazon'. Click on new & used which will bring up all the available sellers for the product. Choose Amazon as the seller.

  • Well, I tried Amazon International, it worked, I live in Perth as well, total cost came out is $46.06. My bank may charge some international tax or whatever on my visa I guess, wait to see.

  • I use the M570 at home and like it, think it was under $35 direct from Logitech with Australian warranty and am happy I spent the $.

It's great for use in bed because if I can use it under the covers and if I go to sleep then normal movement during sleep doesn't move the pointer/bring on the laptop fan and wake up the screen (and girlfriend) unlike the regular mouse.

Works much better than laser mouse on red sheets/loose crinkled sheets.

Battery lasts ages compared with a laser mouse.

Packing up laptop with dongle in place and Trackball still turned on does not wake up a suspended laptop (unlike regular mouse which must be turned off to transport suspended laptop and the act of picking it up can wake suspended a laptop).

It's much bigger so I don't take it with me, the dongle can support the trackball as well as mouse and keyboard all at same time.

Prefer a regular mouse where large or very accurate pointer movements are required.

Sometimes when I click it makes my thumb move slightly (and pointer in turn).
Takes multiple swipes of thumb requiring lifting off the ball to get it right from 1 side of screen to the other.
Vertical movement is somewhat restricted as the thumb extension/contraction is somewhat limited (thumbs don't bend much, but move sideways easily).

Find it not quite as good (as a regular mouse with acceleration) for pointer movement and accuracy but really good to use at home as it's much larger and also the different movements rest the muscles I normally use with a mouse. (I prefer a Logitech M235 mouse as its slightly taller than say a Microsoft equivalent and I find causes less issues for scruntching up my ham sized paws to reach the buttons than any other "portable" mouse I tried)

    Hope this helps.

    • Hi I just bought the mouse. Where you say it takes multiple swipes of the thumb to get the pointer from 1 side of the screen to the other, I recommend you change the mouse sensitivity. http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/…

    • I think that those who want super accuracy using mouse (video, music and photo editors or graphic designers) will benefit this mouse (or his kind) the most.

I do some photo and vid. editing and i find more accurate and better designed for such things.
