I hope the following deals will be better than this.

Not as good as the US PSN sale…

  • Yeah, they're not great to be honest, especially when compared to the other worldwide PS stores. Why do we always get jibbed!

  • Dupe comment, sorry.

xbone EA pass is much better value than this. Have no idea why Sony did not take up that offer. Well I do but they should have for those who like sports/battlefield games

    • +1

Plus is way better value tbh.

      • +1

True but why not have the option for both. EA access does not replace Plus. Not that I care as I dont play any of those games

        • +1

Because EA Pass is intended to be a direct competitor to the PS+ game offerings. Why would Sony agree to have EA pass on Sony console when its very likely that it would wall off potential PS+ free games and lessen the value of the service they provide? MS is probably not as put off with the idea because Games with gold has not received the same level and extent of investment as PS+'s free games.

Edit: Also remember this is EA we are talking about. I won't be holding my breath before EA Access becomes necessary for DLC etc

        • +1

@blazeninja: EA have a history of trying to muscle in on console manufacturers markets.

    • +2

I'd rather PS Plus, to be honest. Or even Games with Gold.

      • Again I have PS + and Games for Gold but there are millions who play FIFA every year and instead of paying $80 the EA access provides good value for them. No one is forcing you to buy it but having the option is better than not having the option

    • I really do not mind being down voted but I would like to have a discussion with whoever did downvote all my comments about the reason for it? Do you disagree with having choice?

      • +4

Fixed (but wasn't me). I was unaware of the EA pass thingy. It's a nice idea, but as soon as each vendor starts making subscriptions it can quickly become expensive ie one for Ubisoft, Square Enix, EA etc. PS+ (and Xbox Gold) have the advantage in that you receive games from a variety of developers.

Personally after being burnt too many times buy EA's "churn out a sequel, quality optional" mentality and sub par products I would not give EA any more money indirectly, let alone directly.

        • You make some really good points. Sadly your point about churning out sequels applies to Usbisoft, activision and to a higher degree EA. In the end of the day they are businesses and consumers keep giving them money so they will keep taking them. At least Ubisoft try one or two new IPs I guess but clearly Sony saw your problem as they have PS + and with playstation now coming they probably thought it would over crowd the market with subscriptions especially with subscriptions that are not their own.

What annoys me about the situation is they have said the reason for it is that its not "value for money" yet on sale 3 of the games that are part of EA access cost close to $150. Sure you get to keep the games but most people upgrade FIFA, Madden and BF and the trade in or resale is very low or non existent if bought digitally. $30US a year for 4 + games is decent value the real problem is like you said too many subscriptions.

The xbone EA pass is only going to be worth it if you get FIFA 2015 for example on release day.

All the games in the EA pass are very old and not worth much, if the EA pass is just a bargain bin collection of games then its not worth it.

Happy to be corrected wrong though, I just didn't see any evidence that you would get new release games.

      • You make a good point as I do not see you getting the games on release. However the four games available are not bargain bin games as they are $47 on sale as per this post. I do think that most people who want these games however would have already bought them and probably will not be willing to wait 6 + months to get the games they want. Like you said it will be very interesting to see if they add any other games to the list but I wouldn't hold my breathe for FIFA 15 or Hardline till at least march-August next year.

Then again you could pay five bucks for a month finish BF single player and Peggle and get your monies worth

        • So far this looks nothing more then a sales machine, not something that will save money. They would know that all the people who will buy FIFA 15 will buy it before X months when it comes out on this free game sub.

A known tactic is to sell an older game to promote sales for its sequel, this is exactly that unless there is proof of new release games.

Steam has these sales all the time, you can get awesome games for $5-10 just because a sequel is coming out soon and they want you to buy it.

Battlefield 4 is about to be replaced with Battlefield Hardline (I know hardline looks bad)

          FIFA 14 with FIFA 15

Madden NFL 25 with Madden NFL 15

NBA Live 14 with NBA Live 15

Need for speed rivals is old, is not a good game, can be purchased very cheap and will probably have a replacement game very soon as well.

        • @samfisher5986:

Yes I understand that EA is only trying to make money for themselves. I am not defending that. I started off by saying for those people interested in this deal which had 3 of the four EA games for close to $50 the EA access would be a better deal for them. People who want these older games. Some select people will benefit from it but most will not unless EA can prove me wrong which I know from experience they will not.

Either way I am a nintendo fan and do not care for sports games or shooters now for that matter since I have had my fill after bad company and COD 4

    Not a bargain

  • +8

    They forgot the sale part.

  • Glad I gave up my EU account before I purchased too many Vita games. The US store offers much better value. I re-purchased the majority of the Vita games I had before on my new US account & I think I've still managed to save money.

Now that the PS Plus service is almost identical across regions there really is no reason not to jump ship & create a new account.

  • +1

There's actually sales on PS3 and Vita as well. Just checking on my phone, but there's 85 PS3 games on sale. You've only linked to the 5 PS4 games. The sale is much better than that.

    Edit: here's a better link

      Updated, cheers.

  • The only bargain I saw was Mind Zero on Vita.

  • Not amazing prices for PS4 games, but still cheaper than in a shop (as far as I can see). Some of the other platforms had some better deals.

FYI, steer clear of NFS Rivals, its a PoS game full of bugs and glitches. I won't take up thread space here with the details but here's a link outlining some issues.

Stick of Truth 'on sale' for only $79.95

    • Click add to cart and choose the second option, it's only $39.95 (no idea what the differences are, maybe different regions?)

      • I'm going to patiently wait until it's $20-25

  • Weren't all of these games cheaper or similar price at Costco this last week?
    Still cheaper than JB etc.

    • +1

They probably were, but not everyone has a Costco membership, or a Costco nearby.

      • Fair call, I'm not a member either. Like I said definitely cheaper than stores.
Surprised FIFA, Madden and NBA aren't this price everywhere by now, don't they all have new versions coming out in September?

        • Fifa 15 should be out in September I imagine. Can't wait!

      • dont mention costco please. i drove there this morning only to find our that nothing is selling for $20. however, i bought a xbox1 for $380

  • I purchased Rogue Legacy $15.56 and The walking Dead first season $10.76

  • Do not buy NBA live. One of the worst games ever released by EA.
