Price in title is WITHOUT shipping insurance (which was $4.58 extra for the moto g, and $3.18 for the zenfone in my case). PayPal checkout is available (and probably recommended).
Please note that Moto G 4G currently AFAIK is not compatible with many types of microSD, think only class 6 types are proven to work successfully. Update may fix this in the future. edit: best to check if your specific microSD is compatible, Samsung class 10 seems cool
Also asked an online rep if the zenfone 5 had play store access which he confirmed, so I guess these aren't China versions (which wouldn't have access).
Zenfone comes in either red or black.

Please make sure to enter the code to get the $219 price on the Moto G. Site says code is valid 'while stock last'
Feedback appreciated, on my deal posting skills and the website I guess.
edit: shipping costs may vary, I reside in western sydney and the moto g had free shipping, the zenfone doesn't.

Edit: CPU for the Zenfone 5 is Z2560 1.6 GHz. There are two Variants for Zenfone 5 with 16GB Rom 2GB Ram(Chinese Version has the Z2560 1.6GHz while Taiwanese Version has the Z2580 2.0GHz)
in the box edit: moto g came with white motorola earphones, moto charger (not aussie), universal charger socket thingy (makes up for it), and a screen protector.

  • Pretty good price for the Zenfone 5

$188 with "basic" shipping to Melbourne.
Alternative (if you don't want to use eGlobal
$189 including free delivery from DWI http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Asus-Zenfone-5-Du…

From what I can see, the original Zen5 had a 2Ghz processor for the Taiwan market which I believe shipped with the Chinese ROM. The 1.6Ghz processor versions was beefed up to 2Gb RAM and set for the India market and run the international ROM. Have been known to be wrong before (just ask my missus).

      • Mine has a Taiwanese ROM which was shipped from Taiwan via DHL.

      • "phluffed" your honesty is refreshing lol.

      • +3

Eglobal and DWI are the same company.

        • Thanks for that, didn't know.

    • Back to average price when shipping is added. Hence revoked my up vote.

      • +1

It's actually a fair bit cheaper than many places out there. Mobicity for example has been selling the 8Gb version for around $250 plus shipping. Many of the other sites out there are looking for the $200 mark for the 8Gb version.

  • +3

I got a zenfone 6 from buyincoins recently and it came with the Chinese ROM and no Google Apps despite the description saying it was international ROM. Fortunately, there's no check-sum or anything on the ROM, you just download the international ROM, rename the file, and the phone lets you install it.

Also; there are still some bugs with the x86 android. Some apps just crash. VLC player won't run (but other media players do). Some games haven't run for me, and also the Virgin in-flight media player.

      zenfone only 3G?

anyway the moto G 4G is good deal compare to Kogan 4G

      • +1

Yes, Zenfone is only 3G but is dual sim.

      • Zenfone 4G LTE is coming.

    • +4

Just a heads up, VLC player is pretty shit on android, MX player seems to do all the same stuff with a hell of a lot less ram usage/chug.

      • yep, MX player works damn good on my motorola razr xt885, very disappointed with the zenfone 5, going back to my old xt885, battery still last way better than that.

  • Shipping is nearly $33 for me

    • +1

      did you apply the code?

      • sorry was looking at the zenfone not the moto.

    • ooo wow, okay so should I add 'to suburban sydney'? Where do you live?

      • Was looking at the other phone, the Moto shipping is very reasonable, it's a good deal. Newcastle area where shipping is normally the same as Sydney.

  • How do you get free shipping for zenfone?

    • can't sorry, +$29 shipping :(

  • +5

Also on that website they have the Kindle Paperwhite for $119, normally $179 at most retail shops like dick smith.
It also comes with a free case, shipping starts from $19. So $138 with shipping and a case… Pretty good price!

  • Minimum is $29 shipping for zenphone, I have been looking at this vendor, have 3 items in my cart, Samsung Tab s 8.4, Xiaomi MI3 and Zenphone 5, and I can't even combined shipping. So, it will stay in the cart for a while.

  • Anyone dealt with them before? How is their services?

    • +1

I was wondering the same. The offer is tempting but it's better to be sure about the dealer

  • +3

Good price for the Zenphone with local warranty. Bought one for the wife recently, and although she can't believe how big it is (fnaar fnaar) she is happy with it.

  • argh sorry guys, should've tested shipping on both. The difference eludes me atm lol.. thanks for the save moderator guy.

  • +1

I've not had any problems with the Samsung Class 10 microSD card I'm using in Moto G 4G

    • +1

I'll add that, that's great news as I've got a couple of samsung class 10s somewhere..

  • +3

Does not look like they have an ABN or provide a tax invoice. "We will not require you to pay GST for your purchased items in Australia (excluding New Zealand)"
So if they fail to honor warranty then its a bye bye as fair trading will not intervene. Though they claim to have been around since 2009 and have done lots of business.

    • +3

They try to look Australian, but they aren't. This is how they can consistently trample all over Aussie consumer law. Just like their alter ego DWI.

  • I've used them a few times, not bad

Sold me the original Galaxy Note a few years ago and it was network locked. Emailed them with my IMEI and had the unlock code in a couple of hours.

About to buy the Nokia Lumia 630 dual sim off them for about $165 delivered to use when I go travelling next month. It seems to be a worthy rival of the Moto G dual sim, cheaper and comes with the new Windows 8.1 pre installed

  • +2

You guys should check out infocus M810. It was released yesterday by Foxccon.

  • +1

Code WB10 reduces total cost by $10 if total order is over $300 (can't combine codes).

  • is Zenphone any good? I am using Galaxy Note 3, just want to change to something now.

    • +1

Yes I bought it recently, it's pretty awesome for the price.

  • Zenphone 5 sees to be a great buy, except for the battery life ~ 2.5 hrs screen on time. Otherwise , better than Moto G I'd say.

    • I got one, battery life is very bad, if you are heavy user, unless you can charge it during the day, no way it can last until you get home from work, plus its get quite hot too, also been checking taiwanese forum, a lot of complains too, pay more to get something better, don't waste your money on this one, going to give it to my boy as a toy

Which one is better Asus Zenfone 6 ($287.28+free shipping)with 6 inch screen size + 3300mah battery or Asus Zenfone 5. Size is not an issue for me as i am moving from Galaxy note 3

I'd suggest you to stick with the Note 3 as it is one hell of a beast. But from the reviews, zenphone 5 lags with some high end games , so I'd suggest the zenphone 6, you you really wanna switch.

    • +3

Your Note 3 is a heck of a lot faster than any of the Zenfone series devices. It'd be a massive downgrade actually, in terms of hardware, performance and build quality. The Zenfone batteries cannot be replaced either, but all Samsung phones have removable batteries. That's a major plus.

      • Well I know note 3 is a beast but just want to try something different. I missed that Htc one max deal few days ago and could not find one in the same price. Anyways still thinking. Thanks for your valuable suggestions.

  • Is this Moto compatible with Australian 4G? 1800 band

    • L18 is the most common in Australia, I think. But it doesn't suppor the others used in Australia, like 2100, 2300, 1900 and soon to be 700.
In short, it will work fine in most areas, but don't expect it to get awesome 4G coverage.
2G/3G will work on Optus and Telstra fine.

      • Don't forget poor old Voda too.

Moto G LTE does have issues with MicroSD cards. Not exactly linked to speed, although it does seem to occur more frequently with UHS-1, it does also occur with class 4, 6 etc. Just happens with certain brands and models of SD cards.

As far as i know, this may be software. Android 4.4.4 update supposedly fixes a lot of issues with SD cards (my Samsung 32gb UHS-1 card worked fine on both 4.4.3 and 4.4.4, so i cant test) but some people still have no SD card working. Looking at the Moto commits, it may be due to disabling of 50Mhz (to SD) and using 25Mhz instead by the Moto engineers.

Shabbypenguin at XDA just released a Cyanogenmod ROM which cleared up the problem with one user, who had no success with their card. So this ROM MAY solve this issue. Watch that space.

Indeed I expect a newer official Moto G update to fix this, as there is already enough pressure on Moto G LTE forums about it.

Note: Moto G says 32gb microSD is max supported. But you can use 64gb microSD if you change the format from Ex-FAT to Fat32 (Moto didnt want to pay for the licensing)

    • Have the G-4G. Really hoping they patch this 'bug' very soon. Seems like it slows the phone down somehow…

  • +2

4G Zenphone 5 and 6 had been announced too

  • How good is the antenna on the Zenfone 5? Would it work well in remote areas on Telatra NextG?

  • code doesn't seem to work

    • works as I'm posting now, but you'll probably get a slightly better deal with the new dwi code (if it knocks off like 10)

  • What's wrong with the Kogan phone then?

I'm staring into a cracked screen on my Motorola Defy XT, and apart from exceptionally reliable Skype/online to network calls in Melbourne cbd, i don't care about much else.

Sturdy build quality too i guess.

    • The issue with Kogan phones:
      - Bargain bin parts that are several generations old
      - Kogan are terrible with software, on TVs, on phones - everything from updates to actual optimisation
      - Kogan's customer service is legendary in how long it takes to get a resolution, if you get one
      - They don't receive updates
      - The first generation of phoned ended up being vaporware

I would not buy a phone made by Kogan EVER - I need my phone to work, not to freeze, stutter, etc

Now if you are buying a phone from Kogan that is manufactured by another company, the main problem there is that most of their stock is grey import, and seeing as it is grey import - it's not the cheapest. If I want to grey import something I do it knowing the risks, therefore I want the absolute cheapest!!!

    • Kogan phones and tabs are all rebadged low end devices from international markets like China and India. Their last Kogan Agora phone was made by Micromax, an indian company that makes budget smartphones for the developing markets. Their current 4G Agora device is a BenQ F5, with a 8 megapixel camera downgrade and 8GB of internal memory.

  • Is the deal over? The web site says: There is no such discount coupon.

    • works for me, just tested if it's still active now. Not sure what's up on your end

  • any discount code for Zenfone 5, $32 shipping with insurance is killing this deal.

  • In regards to the Moto G 4G, what's the difference between the version they're selling and the standard version sold here in Australia?

    • +1

as far as I know there are no difference in wireless bands, so looks like the only differences would be:
-what's actually in the box eg. aussie charger? earphones? I don't know
      -price
      -local warranty

Only local store I see selling it would be the Good Guys who have it for $298 plus delivery.

source: dwi spec sheet, good guys spec sheet

edit: good guys have 1 year manufacturers warranty according to the site
