  • Does anyone know if I can sign up under my card, as well as my girlfriend on the subsidiary card?

EDIT: "Please note that this registered Card number is the only Card that can receive the offer. Any other eligible Cards (including those linked to the same account) must be registered separately." on the sign up page implies yes?

    • From what people said last year; yes.

    • +1

I think it depends whether the subsidiary card has a different number - if yes then it can be registered separately, if not you only get one bite of the cherry.

      • Different # so should be good. Thanks :)

Now I wonder if we can both use it at same shops (since it's one credit per shop)…

        • +1

You should be able to go to the same shop one time on each card to earn the rebate.

        • @amelyn:

This was confirmed by AMEX on their FB too. Thanks!

        • @jace88:
I can confirm this as well as it works with my 4 supplementary cards.

  • Make sure you ask if the shop accepts Amex before you go selecting your items. Last time, quite a few shops I went to did not accept it even though they were listed.

    • Yep, not sure if Amex doubled checked this time but last time I found out too late a few times at restaurants . So best to call or ask them before ordering

      • I usually look for the sign or sticker on the window

        • Yep. That's another way

Yeah pretty hopeless - I have been to two places that showed on their map, but who say they don't accept AMEX. I would have though the list was a curated record of businesses that AMEX actually deal with, but apparently not. In which case what's the point of the list at all?

      • Call them up - last year I got two lots of credits because they advertised that they offer amex and wouldnt allow the transaction to be done via amex. One was a Pastacup in WA.

  • how soon can you get the rebate? i had lunch last saturday in a restaurant on the amex list, but still have not received any rebate yet.

    • Got the email within an hour

Made a stupid mistake. Went to the same place twice and spent more than $20 each time. Then realized afterwards the rebate is valid once for each business place. Duh!

    • It happens- you need a subsidiary card :)

  • Has anyone actually got the $5 yet?

I got the confirmation email 5 mins after the transaction, but I don't see the $5 credit even the transaction has been cleared.

    • Took a while, but yes - just checked my account and got $5 credit applied. It wasn't there yesterday…

    • The rebate appeared in my statement after about four days. Yea took a while.

  • went to Eden garden dragonfly cafe @ Macquarie park with entertainment voucher 2for1 main meal deal and paid with amex $25 got trigger for $5 credit!

    $20 bill, happy!

Last year shop small and this august shop small, I visited some shops and restaurants which were on AMEX list but they didn't accept amex card at all, I still got back shop small credit from AMEX. You just have to contact AMEX customer service and they would give you back credit. Please try.

    • but how to they know whether you purchase or not by other methods? or they just trust your words???

    • Did u pay cash or with other credit card?

      • I paid by both because they either didn't accept amex or their internet was down.

        • Thanks. I read about doing this during the last promo. Didn't realize Amex still doing this now. I think one guy even managed to get cash back even showing receipt.

So far went to 3 places that didn't accept Amex so I left. Should have just dined there and kept the receipt lol

        • @Jared17:

In shop small 2013, My partner and I didn't know what to do after having lunch at a restaurant but didn't accept amex. Luckily amex gave me back the credit $10. This time we went to chemists, Japanese restaurant and Newsagency so far. ;-)

For some reason I got a $5 shop small credit through Delivery Hero, after making a purchase from this deal

18 Aug 2014 DELIVERY HERO PTY LTD -$5.00
    17 Aug 2014 DELIVERYHEROAU SYD $28.00

I got the shop small confirmation email seconds after making the transaction but couldn't understand why, I guess they are included for some reason.

  • bought two lots of $20 priceline giftcards at minto priceline if anyone up for this

  • has anyone been to a registered small business on the website but didn't get an email confirmation?

    • I've scored a half a dozen or so $5 credits so far, but I haven't received e-mails for any of them.

      • Oh, cos I got emails for all the other one, except the chemist. Let's wait and see then. Thanks

  • Went to Pan Pacific Perth for dinner and used the AMEX. Somehow they are considered a small business? Don't mind if I do
