Picked up a Vodafone prepaid mobile recharge yesterday and was surprised to have a 15% discount pop up! This offer isn't being advertised in the catalogue so seems they are flying under the radar this time around. Not sure if this is nationwide but works in Vic. Hopefully the collective power of Ozbargain can provide us with confirmation on this offer elsewhere

That's the most likely explanation of Woolies unadvertised discount on a different Vodafone product - competition.

i think they are different products. Recharge customers need to keep their number and Starter Kit requires new activation.
Yes, they are different products, as I said. But it's likely why Woolies is selling discount Vodafone recharges.
With a Starter Pack, you can keep your number by porting out to a different telco's $2/free SIM & back again. On Data, you don't need to bother with that.
But only applicable if you have no credit, Vodafone to Vodafone call credits etc to roll over! That's why I was with Vodafone so long - too much credit to change.
If you use Yatango for the port - you get 600 min calls, 600 SMS, & 1GB DATA for free. So by buying some $9 Starter Packs from Coles & porting via Yatango, you get a good deal & keep your number. On OzBargain it's all about the deal, as long as it suits your circumstances.

Really satisfactory solution with Voda. 'For myself' the electro 1each $40 will amount to 1.5GB base (recharge in August: bonus 0.5GB) + 46*0.35 giving a total 17.6gb-ie equivalent to t$ old ipad deal except multiplied by sixfold weeks on a ¾G 850ntwk. (telstra's only lasted 3gb/wk in wifi-Mf60)
The only thing to top this then is return of -20%@Coles; like in November & repeated in February. Then I shall get two on -5% group myer giftcard PLUS, I am hoping.. $20/-18.1% fly buys coupon.. due shortly from my infrequency at shopping.
