  • "Express Online Groceries"
But I want my groceries home delivered, not online!

Note: Please add "VIC" or "Inner Melbourne" to title as per posting guidelines.

Note 2: Not sure of legalities for cigarette sales online.

Second most expensive item aside from cigarettes is an electric toothbrush for only $118…

  • Prices are 5-9% markup on Coles (and likely Woolworths) online stores.

So the delivery (and personal shopper fee, possibly x2) is likely inbuilt!

That said, this is the cheapest place you will ever find a single carrot for 37 cents delivered to inner melbourne.

  • I've thought of placing an order, but it hasn't thought to arrive yet :/

    No deal.

$5.76 for a 220g block of Cadbury and $37.01 for a 30pack of cans of coke = TOO MUCH, the delivery price is inbuilt into this price.
And after your first order you need to pay for delivery ontop of these prices??

    No Specials either.

What is the selling point of this? A faster delivery window? Big Deal id rather wait a little longer and pay a more reasonable price.

Well, I personally think 37 cents (total) for a delivered carrot is a great deal. So I'm keeping my positive vote! :)

Bugs Bunny will be happy to hear that.

These are the only suburbs that are being delivered to. Maybe the rich people who live/rent in these most expensive suburbs of Melbourne dont care about the considerable mark up of items Grocey Butler appplies. Good luck to them!

    • Agreed, no bargain here, what a rip off.

      • All relevant comments, but we would like to clarify that the value in our business model is:

        • Personal shopping service - Shop for our customers like we would ourselves. We call our customers if something is not available and ask if they would like another brand for example

        • Fastest delivery times in OZ (possibly the world!) of only 90 minutes compared to next day delivery offered by Coles and Woolworths

        • Convenient 30 minute delivery windows compared to 3 hours offered by Coles and Woolworths

So the value is in the service we offer. Our pricing is competitive especially when compared against 7eleven, IGA and Coles and Woolies online.

Give us a try with free delivery on first order! we are new and would love your support!

  • I m not sure what kind of business model you employed…beware giant woolies is coming

    • Beware of the little guy!

  • OP,

Whilst the level of personalised service you claim to offer is admirable, you cant compare your delivery times to just a half dozen neighbouring suburbs to that of colesworth. Also "competitive pricing" compared to colesworth online which in itself is about 7%-9% more than their bricks and mortar stores is not competitive. Your pricing appears to be about 10% higher than colesworth online. What you call competitive pricing, I find borders on predatory pricing. Also, Colesworth do offer their weekly special online. I could not see any specials on your site. You have come to advertise on OZBARGAIN- you are not a bargain. TBH I find your post on this site patronizing. Just because you are new doesnt mean our sympathies should be extended to you. Perhaps you need to advertise this service to your target audience, they might find it less offensive. But good luck to you anyways, Im just one little voice here. Perhaps if you branch out to less afluent areas, and rethink about your "competitive pricing" I may just give you a go.

    • Their business model is to target affluent area in comparison with Colesworth.. it is interesting to see how they survive in the competitions … I dont think they harbour all the groceries in their warehouse (i.e. just reseller with personalised service.

      • I was guessing they send a staff member to the closest major supermarket and add their own markups when invoicing for the service. I am guessing that the person who picks the goods also does the delivery. If the products just happen to be on special, the company makes more profits from the order.

I was tempted to neg the deal as not a bargain but I'm guessing that it is a bargain to their targeted market. Unfortunately very few of their targeted market are members of Ozbargain.

  • would be nice to have a company that picked from a variety of stores and did not mark up prices and the consumer could choose any product they wanted and take advantage of specials from various stores.

    • So how much would you pay for a personal shopper and delivery under such a system?

      • How does 10% on total spend min $20 sound.

  • +1

Nothing! I only order online if it's on special and has free delivery!

    • Same here.
