    It's two.

    • I found this amusing.

  • How is this 16gb one compared to Nexus5 or S5?

    • +3

I currently use a 64gb Oneplus (previous phone was a Nexus 5), the main advantage of the Oneplus is much better battery life and better camera.

The added customisability is great too with themes etc. The phone itself is very well built and the OS is as smooth as vanilla Android on the Neuxs.

    • For the price I would go with OnePlus (OPO), unless you get very good deal for the other 2 phones. I have used Cyanogenmod custom rom before and I liked it. Very flexible customisation for someone who wants to tinker and yet good enough to leave the settings alone.

I think the OPO tech specification surpasses Nexus 5, I would say on par with Samsung S5 (which has some extra features and being branded—so does the price!).

Note the storage capacity on OPO can't be extended with external micro SD card. So if you going to store a lot of stuff like songs, videos, docs etc then I suggest you get the 64GB version.

Of course one need to know which one is physically more appealing, eg. phone/screen size. Battery is not accessible (not easy, unlike HTC 1 M8 impossible) so not suitable for someone who wants to carry 2nd battery.

      Blasphemy!
I got the LG G2 from Kogan when you posted the deal, Stella! And now I'm feeling much much guilt for biting the bullet then, even more when I got TWO invites that I couldn't use!

No way you're buying the OPO!
      :)

The s5 is waterproof and has a fingerprint reader whereas the opo does not. There are far more gadgets and cases available for the s5, whereas there is jack all out for the opo yet.

You get what you pay for, but for a great cheap phone cant beat the opo.

You forgot to mention that all the software advantages that OPO has. A Snapdragon 805 galaxy S5 would still eat dust from the OPO in real life performance. If you ever used the OPO you would pick it up even it's at even price as the S5. The only downside is the resell value I guess as Samsung is the new Apple these days.

    • The s5 fingerprint reader is simply a joke, cannot even compete with the one on iPhone 5s.

  • Can you still get all the same Android Apps on the OPO that you can get on the S5 etc?

    Thanks

    • Yes of course.
The one plus one has a more stock android feel than the S5.
Samsung has put an extra "skin" on the original android for their OS and it lags a lot on my gf's note 3.

      Mostly.

Some apps are still Samsung only:

      • Apps like camera silencers (though you should be able to do it manually easily enough with the unlocked firmware on the OPO).

      • NFC-enabled apps, like CommBank's tap and pay - IIRC Android only introduced a universal NFC interface very recently (4.4?), and many apps still use Samsung's proprietary one.

If you care about tap and pay/NFC, then you might want to check if they support the OPO first. Games, music, navigation, etc., should largely be the same.

      • Are you being serious?

Firstly, the one plus one doesn't need a camera silencer as the option Is embedded in the camera menu.

Secondly, the opo comes with NFC so every NFC enabled apps that Samsung can run, opo can run it !

Suggest you do some reading before commenting.

  • Very tempting! But confused.
