WD My Cloud 4TB $299 +Shipping w/$50 Free Gift Card, $50 AMEX Credit & 0.75% CR Cashback @ Kogan

20

I know we are all still living through the trauma from this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/156866

However, thought this was worth posting considering

  1. It is from Kogan and not from Digital River although it is WD!
  2. The best price until now seems to have been USD $179.99 + $14.56 from Amazon https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/151834
  3. At $50 for a TB it is still a good deal compared to the My Book Live Duo fiasco as it has the USB 3.0 option

You wil pay 299 plus shipping but hopefully get the Free Gift Card via email soon and the AMEX credit within 1-2 days. Do not forget to use a cashback website if required.

Free $50 Kogan.com gift card with purchase.
*Only while stocks last. Gift card is valid for 3 months from issue date and will be sent via email within 7 days of purchase. Single use only. Any remaining credit will be forfeited. Only 1 Kogan.com Gift Card can be used per Kogan.com transaction.

AMEX deal

  • Its not $199 if you have to pay $299 for it and get $100 of vouchers.

    • Thanks. Sorted out.

    • AngryMan : I am not sure what you mean by "you have to pay $299 for it and get $100 of vouchers" ?!?

You will get a $50 voucher from Kogan, and a $50 statement credit from AmEx - AmEx don't send you a voucher.
You will end up paying $249 plus shipping (if you are eligible for the AmEx offer), because the statement credit will be applied to the same credit card you paid with - the $50 from AmEx is like an almost instant cashback, NOT a voucher.

Will my photos be safe in this Cloud?

not like WD any more :(

If you stack a discount on a discounted item - sometimes it doesn't stick.

This is not a popular opinion in terms of the acceptance of the situation (because hell hath no fury like a jilted ozbargainer), but it's the way the game that we play on here works. Sometimes they don't stick.

WD is now effectively a "negative meme" on this site, which means it will be customary to witness karma whore by posting similar comments to yours.

  • I bought the 3TB My Cloud. Hopeless software. Very bad integration with Mac OSX. I want to sell it.

So I guess you are "Not Satisfied"? Tell Digital River and they will refund you, perhaps.

I cringed the second I saw WD in the title.

They've really stuffed up their brand image with me… It'll be a long time till I use them again.
