I see $39.95 on their website. How do you get $5 off?

  • will it work for Optus movie rewards?? I have been with Liveconnected for years now, and up until a few months ago it worked. but then they kicked me off :(. been making use of telstra tickets lately but sometimes hoyts is more convenient

    • Was thinking the same thing, I usually get my friend who is with optus to buy my optus movie rewards tickets for me as a gift, but I'd rather have my own account.

    • yes, prepaid works with it.

  • Can you transfer the credit to an existing optus service? Or would you have to port out and port back in?

Hmmm… Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can do the following:

    Buy lots of these sims.
Use 1 sim as your main on some dollar day plan.
Activate another sim, expiry in 6 months.
Wait 35 days. Transfer $10 a month to the main sim (me2u).
    Rinse and repeat.

Anyone on optus who can confirm this?

EDIT: NVM. "Please note: Me2U is not available on My Prepaid Daily, My Prepaid Daily Plus or My Prepaid Monthly plans"

  • I know Telstra prepaid SIMs work but has anyone tried using Optus SIMs to buy Google Play content?

  • Does anyone know if I can use an iPad/tablet SIM in my phone, and just use it for data? I asked an Optus store, and they said no, then they said actually they're not sure.

My situation is I have two phones. I had one on the telstra encore offer, which I add data packs to. Now that I've switched to the freedom offer and they don't allow data packs on the offer, I'm considering using a spare phone for data. I won't make calls or text on it, so was considering a tablet plan. $15 for 3GB per month sounds like it would suit my usage.

    Thanks.

    • Why don't you go for the $2 per day?
"$30 for 30 days when half price for 500 meg a day and unlimited calls and text and 4g so 15 gigs for 30 days." The only con is 500 Meg max per day ( big excess charge ), but you can get up to 15 Gig max per 30 days, plus unlimited calls and text. This is according to "paulaus" comments above.

      • On '$2 Days', as it is now, the 'big excess charge' is simply that another $2 gets lopped-off your credit if you go over your 500MB block. The extra $2 gives you another (one, max) block of 500MB to use within that same 24hr period.

Just keep a close eye on your data-counter, and you'll be fine.

        • Imaging watching a nice video and you have to stop Just in time so you don't overshoot your quota…

        • I am imagining that and it is nightmarish. Just too gruesome to bear.

Glances at clock. It is very close to midnight. People might be mid-vid, NOW!
          Oh, the humanity.

  • Woolworths o'come Optus had of course 45day rollover. Not sure how I'm to trust .5gb-block expiry. or to what end ??; [20mb]expiring hourly so one can't do anything with the net? gee whiz.. network neutrality , reasonable ntwk mgt-n all that jazz :S.

Somewhat disconcerting, given that it's taken to be an 'unlimited calls/all-data 4g thing.

    • Are you high?

      • Bill, I know you "…didn't inhale", but it is very un-Presidential of you to be implying that daver has.

It is true, indubitably so, that like you and Monica, daver + interesting turns of phrase, will always be intimately connected.

So, mate, is Hillary going to run for the top job?
Spill the beans. OzBargainers everywhere are on the edge of our keen-furniture-deal-delivered seats.

Mr.President, why are you on OzBargain, anyway? This is all very strange.

Was it the 'USD' $5 PayPal credit thing, today?
        Silly me. Must be.

        • This is Hillary

        • @PresidentClinton:
          Sorry, Pres.
Counting your chickens AND jumping the gun. Americans…
