Vodafone $50 Red SIM only plan—$35 for the first 6 months via Dick Smith

90

30% off access fees: pay $35/month for a Vodafone $50 SIM only Red plan, for the first six months.

Only need to connect for one month minimum, so it's great for taking advantage of Vodafone's $5 Red roaming deal, if you're travelling overseas.

This is similar to (but not the same as) an earlier deal that was exclusive to existing customers—this one's available to new customers who sign up at Dick Smith.

T&C:

Offer end date is 28.10.2014 (unless extended) Personal use by new approved customers only. Discount applied to account as monthly recurring credit. Min monthly spend for bills 1-6 is $35. From bill 7, min monthly spend is $50 ($50 Plan). Must connect for min one month. Recurring monthly access fee charged until the end of the month you cancel. Any remaining credit owing to you is forfeited if you cancel before bill 6. Not transferrable, redeemable for cash.

Might use this and xfer to $25 p/m

  • It would work out cheaper to become a Vodafone customer by taking up this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160064 then taking up this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158268

It would work out $40 cheaper over the 6 months and you end up will a free 4G Pocket WiFi device.

    • That deal requires that you have an existing POST PAID service with Vodafone.

      • Just join a $10 Postpaid 1gb Broadband… or a $20 Postpaid Mobile, those cheapest one and get the $25 deal

        • Can't find the $10 post paid broadband

          Mind sending the link?

          Thanks

          @tychiang82:

How to get the above deals + the red sim ?
          10 bb + 20bb (free pocket wifi) + 25 red sim?
Seems over spent compare with 35 dicksmith deal

The $10 MBB is not available as a single connect
The $10 plan MUST be a second service so your idea wouldnt work.
You would need to be on the $25 Sim Only (loswest option, there is no $20 Sim only plan anymore)

    • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160064 link has no post, the post has been deleted, may be from the rep ??? who doesn't wants us to get the better deal. would you be able to tell us what was on that deal please ?

Any Vodafone store will match this deal, if mentioned in store.
While the offer is "exclusive" to DSE if a Vodafone store is closer to you then just go in and tell them you want this deal.

    • Not all of them, took your 'advice' I walked into a Voda store, asked the if they could match the DSE offer, the guy didn't even try to, even when I tried explaining it to them and just tried to push me towards a lesser plan which was $35 dollars.

I'm guessing this was one of those franchised stores, you'll have to go to one that's not or like me just find DSE and do it directly.

      • Ditto. I tried this on with my local Vodafone store on the Sunshine Coast and they didn't want a bar of it, and referred me to my local DSE who were more than helpful in closing on the DSE deal.

    • Do you know this for a fact.

Its 50% off if you go through Vodafone as a post paid customer with 300 minutes for international calls and 3GB data. Better than the boost and amaysim.

    • Sounds like a good deal. Please elaborate, how much would it cost and how would you do it?

      • $25 per month for six months. Normally $50 for the red plan, you can do a monthly Sim only plan with them. Might have to be done as a post pay which is what I have had to do. Hopefully this helps

I'm an existing customer on the $35 dollar plan and want to take this on for 6 months. but its only for new customers… anyone got any good ideas how I can still get the deal in any way?

    • Port out to another provider using a $2 sim, then go DSE and port back to vodafone

  • Thanks for that. I picked up this deal; the guy in DSE said that all the staff are switching across to this as well. I guess it means that calling each other will be cheaper :)
