Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 4.0 for PC @ BitsDuDour $9.95USD Approx $11.70AUD

50

Good discount for some handy software, great for all those of you who purchased SSD's recently :)))

What's not to like about solid state drives? They have no moving parts, run cooler, and are amazingly fast compared to the traditional platter-based hard drive. So what's stopping you from making the switch? If you're nervous about migrating to an SSD and think you could potentially destroy all of your data, you'll find courage and reassurance in today's discount software promotion, Paragon Migrate OS to SSD!

*Paragon Migrate OS to SSD lets you perform quick, safe migrations of Windows and data to solid state drives and traditional hard drives. With Paragon Migrate OS to SSD, you'll be able to transfer a live operating system to your nifty new SSD with no adverse impact to your work, and retaining all partition information. That's it - you can say goodbye to those days of buying and formatting a new drive, then following the tedious process of reinstalling your OS and all of your applications.

Of particular utility is the program's ability to migrate your Windows installation from larger hard disks to smaller SSDs in an intelligent fashion. Just pick and choose which files and folders to exclude, and Paragon Migrate OS to SSD performs the migration once you're within the disk space limitation. The result - a fully functional, SSD-based computer that's faster and cooler than ever before!*

    Nice post beast.
But gee I dont know, Ozbargainers actually cracking open the wallet and paying for software.

    • When that can't make a working backup with their new Windows 8/8.1 machine running a UEFI bios, then they may have to pay :))) Full price as they missed the discount haha

A nice piece of software, but it's really niche, and you're recommended to do a clean install of Windows for a reason.

Would rather buy myself a meal to enjoy while doing the process than paying for the software unfortunately.

    • +1

Agreed, although this may be a good deal for this software, in the vast majority of cases you are better of reinstalling Windows

  • No need to reinstall if you are already vigilant with backups and updates :)))

  • Just download an iso for pmagic, burn it to disc, watch a youtube video and voila.

    • UEFI? WIndows 8? haha

      • OK fair call on UEFI, it could affect some people who may need to open their BIOS and turn it off (although if they are cloning I dont see why), but Windows 8? What?

I'm sorry, I just don't know what you are on about.

        • It was regarding the 'secure boot' cloning issues, there are only two companies certified to do this. Paragon is one of them. I thought ~$10 was good value to save me the headaches when another W8 UEFI upgrade job comes along. Maybe it would save others hours of their time too, but no, it's useless stuff, correct?

Have you cloned a machine on Windows 8? With secure boot etc enabled? Many people have cloned their machines & later discovered that the backup they made is not able to boot once it is restored. Unusable. But you guys know that, you know everything, haha.

The Factory restore disks aren't always easy to build either. At least not in the state the OEM PC's are sold. Full of bloatware etc, that tends to kill the backup media building process.

So I will say sorry for posting this non-deal, it clearly isn't a bargain in anyones eyes. Useless. That's it, like the useless units like the people that troll these forums posting only negative stuff. No wonder there is not many posts made on this site.

Most of the negative comments are assuming it is just going to be a generic cloning process which is easy and free. They love to state the obvious, so good luck to them with their wonderful ways, making the world a better place haha. Just help yourself and not others, is that the motto in this country? I certainly think so. Enjoy that, it must feel good. Just like calling someone names back in the school days :)))

I feel like I have wasted my time and energy posting on this site. Lesson has been learnt. Thanks for teaching me a valuable lesson.

I will save my help, for my friends, at least they appreciate it. :))))

          @beastontheroad:
          Hey Beast,
I for one learned a thing or two from your post and what you have written above. I had no idea about the UEFI issue. Actually its the first I have heard of it. So appreciated here and I bet many many others too.

        • @beastontheroad: I can see your getting upset so I'm just gonna say, I never gave criticism unless I didn't understand what you were saying (which to be fair up to this point consisted of "UEFI? Windows 8? haha")

@voolish: It was regarding the negative comments here in general, sorry.

        • @King Tightarse: Thanks, I just can't understand the negative approach many people have.

The UEFI issue is just another new headache for many people when it comes to backing up/cloning Windows 8, as the OEM builders use the secure boot option. That's why I posted this deal as this cheap software supports the UEFI cloning.

Secure boot a great feature as it stops any mods to the OS during the bootup when the Anti virus is down.

  • There's so much free software around to do this, it'd be a shame to have to pay!

Most SSD drive manufacturers seem to have a free program, along with the partition manager and partition copy software people. First stop for me would be (and was) the drive manufacturer.

    • Try the Free options on a UEFI machine running Windows 8/8.1. So much knowledge on this site lol.

    This is a useless purchase.

FREE software abounds that does this

    http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

    http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-softwar…

The SSD manufacurers also offer FREE software to do this.

    • UEFI Bios? & Windows 8/8.1? These words are not important to you I'd say. Those free programs will not make a working backup image that can be restored to another drive on Windows 8/8.1 with UEFI bios AFAIK. Correct me if I am wrong. Unless of course you are happy with the fact that you cannot boot on the newly created drive.
