the 64GB from the same seller is $391.85 as well.

  • Good price, but I'm waiting for the nexus 6.

    • +4

I was waiting for this to go below AU$400, or the nexus 6 to get officially announced. Too slow, Google…

      • +9

Why not get both, would still be cheaper than an iphone 6 ;)

        • +9

          ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

          wipes tear

          ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

          deep breath

          ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

          iphone 6! good one!

  • +4

Is this the one running Cyanogenmod?

    Edit: wow I can't read.

    • +4

Incorrect! I have the Chinese version and it works fine. On Vaya and able to access 4G network.

    • +2

Absolute bollocks. it will work fine.
      http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_oneplus

also, there's owners threads on whirlpool where people with the chinese version have been showing awesome speeds on 4G on various networks.

      • -6

Yes, but what about if you travel overseas. All I am trying to do is to inform people that there is a small risk if you buy this version.

        • it has more chance of working overseas than a lot of other phones sold in Australia? The only stuff it's really missing is a few US specific 4G bands. Which might bother some people, but not me.

        • -6

@salem: Yes, you can see I haven't done my research which is why I said MAY, I never said it won't work in Australia, which is why I listed the 4G bands. All I am doing is trying to inform people that there is a small risk to buying this, it may not occur in Australia, but if you travel overseas you could run into some problems. I have may some terrible investments from deals I found on ozbargain in the past due to not being informed well enough. Why am I not allowed to inform people about issues that may arise????

        • +1

          @triviums:

you negged the deal based on hypothetical small risks that you didn't bother to research the truth of? Maybe you should have just asked questions instead, to raise the potential issue and have it clarified for you?

        • +1

@salem: People are so lazy that a 30s google search is unbearable versus spouting nonsense.

Just look at all the moronic questions in the original ebay thread. Same questions over and over, most of which are answered in the title post.

Anyway, the most common 4G frequencies in Australia are all covered by the Chinese 1+1.

          2100Mhz – Telstra, Optus (Tasmania)
          1800Mhz – Telstra, Optus, Vodafone
          900Mhz

And by December 2014 there will be plenty of 2600Mhz 4G as well.

          http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_frequencies

        • -1

@Telios: Sorry I made a mistake, but I wasn't being lazy, I am looking at the phone at a global perspective and at a global perspective, there are some issues such as warranty (which I think won't be a issue in this case due to it being sold by someone with 28,000+ feedback) and 4G. Yes I made a mistake that it won't work in Australia and I am sorry for that, but I am trying to promote a perspective that just because Australia is an isolated country doesn't mean that issues such as 4G won't effect people when traveling. Do you know how many complaints the ombudsman receives that are so minor compared to this?? Yes it may not effect the majority of people, but it will effect some, again I am sorry for the negative post, that was my mistake.

  • +3

Thanks OP - am sold. Not super fussed about 4G but good to know it's there. Will be getting one in black as soon as cashrewards is back online!

    • +3

Glad I could help. Thanks should really go to eBay though! :)

  • +2

    got one. thnks!

  • Hi guys. .. im still confused in deciding which mobile phone to buy for around $400 which has better battery life and camera compared to other phones within same price range. Appreciate if you can help.

Does this one got better battery life and camera than Samsung s4 or S5 and LG G2 or G3 or Nexus 5?

    • From what I've read:
Better battery life? YES, everyone raves about the OPO battery life.
Better camera? Probably not better than S4, S5 or G3. probably on par with Nexus.

  • +1

damnit i just bought this from oneplus! couldve saved me ~45!

    • I did the same and am still waiting for it to arrive.

Ah well, you can still save money on something else!

  • oops reposted comment

  • Got a 16GB. Awesome deal.

    Thanks OP!

  • -6

Cyano looks so plain and boring. :(

    • +2

      Seriously?!

      • -4

Yes. It's ugly. It's so simple, there's no style.

        • +3

Lucky android is completely themable and you can change the launchers and add all sorts of widgets, etc. At least on an open android phone like this. Some other brands it might be a lot more difficult….

        • +1

It's so simple?! Haha it's vanilla android with a whole bunch of extras!

I think it looks great :)

  • +3

OnePlus is a great all round phone.

Battery life is a lot better than the Samsung S4 or Nexus 5 (have used both). I'm a relatively heavy user and get a solid day and a bit out of the OnePlus.

Have been using mine for 3 weeks now and love it..

    • -1

      any cons?

      what about the pros?

  • Bought! Now I have two. Probably the last serious eBay deal we'll see this year.

Waiting for nexus 6 and new moto x but probably overpriced.

  • One Plus One has some really decent specs … unfortunately it doesn't seem to have a must have feature for me - wireless charging. I know, it isn't totally necessary, but I have grown to love the convenience of it (and not wearing out my microUSB port..!)

    • You can hack it into it with a little trickery and minor soldering and completely voiding any warranty. I'm wondering how long I can handle going back to plugging in after nearly a year and a half of Qi on my nexus 4….

      • +3

People really need to get their Shit together and just make wireless charging as ubiquitous as the micro usb. Been waiting for this since Beyond 2000 was on tv

        • It's unbelievable how every single phone has a major feature missing or a bad functional decision made…

  • Great phone. Great deal. I paid nearly $100 more than this and I'm still happy anyway.

  • +1

Cant seem to log in to ebay. anyone having this issue?

  • Only thing I am worried about is support from OnePlus team, I read and heard horror stories of them not responding to queries/hardware support issues.

I would fork up the extra $60 and get a Z2.

  • Bought one thru mobile browser. It was a hassle lol. Thanks op

  • +1

Couldn't resist - damn you OzBargain!

    • me too, even though I am using Nexus 5. Damn!

  • Purchased a 64gb in black, thanks!! First android phone after several yrs using iphones :)

    • What made you switch back?

      • Have been interested in trying an Android phone for a while just to see what they're like to live with. Also wasn't impressed with Apples new iphone 6 offerings.

        • I find that really interesting. I would have thought for someone that is already in the Apple ecosystem and that is looking at large phones the iPhone 6+ would tick most/all boxes. What is it that let you down in the new iPhones? (really curious, cheers!)

        • @ory_zm: If the regular phone sized iphone 6 had a 1080 display and the better camera etc I would have probably just gone down that path, the 6+ was tempting but the price is too high in todays market and I'm not sure I'd like owning a phone that big. The OPO is a good cheap way to try out android and a large phone at the same time :)

        • @botlfed: aha, the price. Yeah I understand your reasoning. I was expecting them to release an adjusted iPhone size no idea why they stuck with that weird form factor.

how chinese version differ to international?

    • Firstly, the Chinese version has ColorOS on it as default, this is due to the play store not being available in china (From the listing you can see that the seller has opened it up and put Cyanogenmod on it which is what the international version has). Secondly, from what I know so far the phone is incompatible with the US 4G networks, so don't buy this if you plan to use it in the USA.

      International 4G Version - LTE: 700 / 1700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600
      Chinese 4G Version - FDD-LTE:2100 / 1800 / 2600

Also just a note that lower frequencies penetrate walls easier than higher frequencies (Optus/Telstra currently use the 700Mhz band)….

  • -1

BTW, for people buying off international sellers, is there any issue with just buying an Aus adaptor for it?

  • I put my order in last night for the 64gb black version. Looking forward to giving it a go!

  • Must…. Resist…. jks bought 64gb white. Great deal for $380ish after cash rewards too

  • I take it, it's the Chinese version. Is there anything bad about that? Language issues with software etc.

    • -1

I thought the Cyanogen mod version was the international version.

      ColorOS is the Chinese version.

My guess is that this is the international version, just like buying it direct from OPO minus needing an invite.
Also having local warranty is a massive plus. Not having to send it back direct to OPO.

      That's my understanding anyway.

      • +1

The only place to get the "international" version (really a USA focused version) is via Oneplus directly. Anywhere else, regardless of OS installed, will be Chinese version. If it comes from somewhere else and has CM11s on it, it means the seller flashed it on there for you.

        • Yup, you're right. Chinese version and DWI flashes CM 11.

    • +1

The Chinese version I bought from DWI came with ColorOS which was in English. I flashed it to Cyanogen as its a vastly better OS.

The differences between the versions are the 4G bands, which have no effect in Australia.

  • From looking at it. It seems the seller buys the Chinese version and flashes it with Cyanogen…and therefore you get the best of both worlds I guess! Im not sure but at this price, it just seems to good to be true.

  • Can someone comment on One plus One phone quality and warranty issue compare to Samsung S5? Try to convenience my Mrs to buy one of these instead of Samsung S5.

  • +1

Bugger it, Black 64gig bought and being delivered either this week or next. Fantastic value for what seems to be a fantastic phone. It's replacing a 4s so the jump is going to substantial lol. At this price, if you don't like it, reselling it and recouping your money won't be a problem either. Win, win all round!

  • Been interested in grabbing one of these for awhile now, great price too !

Can anyone comment on the pros of the htc one m8 cause i'm torn between the two!

    • Seems the camera and obvious screen size will be the major difference. Also, the build quality of the HTC is quite amazing. Not saying the 1+1 is bad at all, its just HTC got it pretty good.

  • Does DWI seriously have enough stock to accommodate the past 100-200 plus of orders of the OPO?????
Cause I just put my order in and am hugely doubting the stock availability as OPO itself faced supply constraint.

    • Hope so! Hopefully it won't be another #WesternDigitalGate. So at worst, we get our $$ back if they can't fulfill.

      • Already bought a case & tempered glass screen protector.

        It better ship!

    • The number shown on eBay is cumulative from when it was listed? Doesn't mean that that many people have bought that over the last two days.

I have bought cases and screen protector for this so it'd better ship.

      • yes, it is. if you actually take a look at the Purchase History, like the black 64GB, you will realize there's more than a hundred orders in the past 24 hours.

        • I count 70-75 since the 15% off deal started at this current moment.

        • @the69thhokage:

At this time, ebay mentioned 115 sold in 24 hours. Other sellers can go out of stock, but not DWI? Hmmmmm….

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-ONEPLUS-ONE-4G-LTE-QUAD-CORE-…

        • @calbong93: Oh sorry, I was counting the 64gb White version since that was the one I bought.

If Oppomart will sell you like a thousand at like $459 each, I'd reckon DWI has stock for a hundred and/or can probably buy more for <$461 to turn over a profit.

        • @calbong93: The white 64GB has 169 still in stock apparently cos I can add that many to cart.

This is the Case/Screen Protector I got after doing a lot of research. Case below seems to be the best for the One (lots of reviews) & great reviews for the Nillkin screen protector too.

    • Thanks for the link for the Diztronic.
I got the Ultimate Shield tempered glass off ebay $15.30 - discount.

  • +1

I got this flip case for $10. Surprisingly good quality, locks/unlocks the phone by opening/closing case. The seller said it would take 20-40 business days which is ridiculous but ending up receiving it after only 2 weeks.

    • Thanks for the info. Which color did you get? And did it end looking good in real life? From the photos I'm not convinced about anything other than black.

      • Got the brown. Looks exactly as picture. It has that nice brown leathery shoe look to it. Very thin. I got the case on a recommendation from either the One Plus forum or Reddit, can't remember.

  • +4

Cheaper than the current DWI deal.

eBay Seller "morefun_au" has limited stock of the OnePlus One @ $431. After applying the current 15% discount code this comes to $366.35 delivered from HK.

    Absolute bargain.

    • do they ship to Australia? it states for me ask seller for postage rate. or on a desktop site I add in my postcode and states it does not ship to Sydney metro?

edit: ahh shit they must've changed it… i tried earlier, now it seems to state free haha

      • It's free shipping, I can't see Australia as part of the postage exclusion list.

edit: saw your above edit, must be trying to capitalize on sales based on this discount lol

        • haha, I hate you, gonna have to buy it now. Getting a bit sick of my nexus 5 battery life and at this price it's hard to pass up!

edit: bought… :P plus 2% cashrewards, whatever that comes to, it's a bargain alright!

      • Looks like the seller has changed it back….

Hope there is no problem processing our orders

        fingers crossed

        • it must be in regards to the stock levels - as when i looked at it previously there were only 3 in stock and said that same thing. When you posted the link they had 10 available and were able to ship.

        • +1

          mine has been shipped :)

        • @beaver2233: Marked as shipped, but tracking doesn't show anything yet.

        • @nbn: actually yeah, mine shows 'booking arranged', so yeah hasn't fully been shipped yet.

        • @beaver2233: anyone's moved on from booking arranged?

        • +1

just updated now, so may get it on Monday if lucky :)

        • @beaver2233: "Arrived Hub" earlier this morning. Hopefully will get it today.

        • @nbn: yeah nice, mine arrived at 7:46PM on Friday, so fingers crossed! No update since then though. My diztronic case, did however, arrive today.

        • +1

@beaver2233: no idea how it didn't get delivered today. Dunno what it's being doing sitting at the 'hub' since Friday night haha.

        • +1

@beaver2233: Mine is finally delivered early this morning :)
