  • just received updated order status for 2x 64GB,

both have been dispatched from the warehouse

    • Still nothing yet on my front :( and ordered on Sunday morning, when did you order yours?

      • I ordered 2 white 64GB after 6pm on Sunday. Got the notifications this morning.

      • Ordered my 64gb white first thing Monday morning

  • Ordered a 64 gig black model on Monday afternoon. Got this message at 8pm tonight.
"We sincerely apologise for the delay, the order is now being processed and will be dispatched next week."
No new information but an update nonetheless.

    • I ordered around 6:30pm on Sunday and have not heard anything from them the message about the 1-3 day delay on Tuesday.. :(

    • so would you leave a neg..cos they lied about 1-3 days

      • Well my initial Sunday order had a date range that went to next Monday for delivery. Add 3 days on that and you're at next Thursday. So I wouldn't be negging until next toFriday if it hasn't arrived.

I'd expect a Monday order to be a day later than all that.

  • Does anyone regret buying this?

I been reading about it not having

video stabilization, which means blurry videos

    • Not many phones have video stabilisation or optical stabilisation so it's not really a big issue. It's not a leading class camera so I don't expect much from it. If it's better than my Xperia Z Ultra's 8MP camera then I'll be happy.

      • it also has mono speakers…

        not stereo

        • +1

so? many phones still have mono speakers, such as the Galaxy S5, G3 and Nexus 5. The only really decent sounding phone is the HTC One (m7 and m8), which coincidentally does have stereo speakers.

        • @beaver2233:

          really?

          I didn't know that

          how about iphone?

does stereo sound better and louder on the htc?

        • @tyler.durden:

          Nope to iphone.

"There’s still just the single mono speaker on the bottom, right where your hand goes when you’re holding the phone in landscape mode."
          http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/16/6155009/apple-iphone-6-plu…

        • @salem:

does stereo sound better and louder on the htc?

I guess stereo won't make too much difference unless they are speaker on both sides like htc..

They should have put stereo on OPO on the top and bottom end (not the bezel, so it won't need to increase bezel size)

would have made the sound better

Here's video of the speaker compared to htc

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri7oMyarFzI

          ===

also which phones have video stabilisation?
          iphone 6?

does that mean if the person recording is moving, the video would be blurry
but if they stand still and record a moving object, it won't be blurry?

        • @tyler.durden: if you're referring to OIS (optical image stabilisation - hardware), the iPhone 6+ does have it but not the iPhone 6. The nexus 5 also has it, not sure bout the other flagships though. It basically just reduces the effect of shaking (as opposed to software stabilisation). So if you have a steady hand anyways it shouldn't matter too much, though yes, it is obviously better to have it than to not.

  • Anyone know if the charger will be official au one or using the chinese one with an adapter?

    • +1

It came with a US charger and an adaptor.

      • that sucks,

if u hang your power outlet
it will make the charger more bulky and easy come off

        ===
        why us charger?

I thought it is chinese version?

        ==

        does using an adapter mean
        -increase charging time?
        -more risk of fire/damage etc?

        • Not sure why they include the US one in the Chinese version. It's just a standard USB to microUSB charger which are pretty common. You are right though, it tends to get unplugged more easily than Aus chargers.

        • @neil:

But USA is 120v so it needs step down transformer which would increase charge time a a bit?

Did u buy yours during eBay 15 sale or how much u paid?

        • @tyler.durden:

Did u buy yours during eBay 15 sale or how much u paid?

          ~$399 delivered

But USA is 120v so it needs step down transformer which would increase charge time a a bit?

No. Most phone chargers are capable of charging natively in both 120/240v. I usually charge overnight so can't tell you how long it takes.

    • Oneplus don't even make an AU charger.

      • damn!!!

        • would the nexus 5 charger work fine for the oneplus one without any problems

        • @uuz: The cable can plug into USB ports so I don't there would be any issue

Not sure if it charges slower though…

I wish it was USB 3. More faster charge and speed

        • @tyler.durden: I read in whirlpool that the cable thickness does matter for quick charging.

  • Btw anyone recommend any good value cases and screen protector

    Is tempered glass protectors good?

    • My post from page 1:

This is the Case/Screen Protector I got after doing a lot of research. Case below seems to be the best for the One (lots of reviews) & great reviews for the Nillkin screen protector too.

Diztronic TPU Cases for the OnePlus One

      https://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=104_10…

US$9.99 + US$6.16 shipping to Aus, ended up being $15.15 with the discount below.

Use following code for $1 off: repeatbuyer

Nillkin 9H Hardness Tempered Glass Screen Protector

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271605575598

$10.99 Fast Free shipping/ships from Aus

Received the tempered glass in 2 days, very fast shipping. Still waiting on my case.

      • does tempered glass feel better than the plastic one?
        is it thicker?

        • yes

        • i got it from the same store as milzy, came in 2 days. The screen is just like a normal protector, just a bit thicker.

        • @supaderp: yeah i got one on my nexus 5, awesome, they don't scratch easily like plastic protectors, and feel much better as well. not sure if i'll get one for my 1+1 though; gotta decide whether or not to keep the phone first haha

    • This is the case I got. Cheap and looks fantastic.

      • can put it as a stand in landscape mode?

        • Yep.

  • When telstra upgrades their band to 700mhz

that does mean in the future this phone will no longer work?

or will they continue to offer 3g etc.. and for other providers like aldi mobile etc?

Also, this chinese version will not work in USA network?

    • Chinese version don't support 700mhz - popular 4G class in the US. However, it will work with some carriers that support 1800 or 2300 or 2600mhz. Telstra runs 700mhz soon but I don't think it will matter much since the older 1800 and 2300 will still be used as most 4G mobile phones in Australia dont support 700mhz including the Nexus 5. Anyway, 3G is always offered mate.

      • Also, the 700mhz band that the international version supports is not the same as the 700mhz band that is coming to Australia. So no difference there in 4G in Australia between Chinese and international version.

  • Ordered my Black 64GB version Sunday 6pm… Still no word on shipping yet.
Anyone order the same model after me with confirmation on their shipping??
And if so, did you need to email them anything to get the ball rolling?

    • -1

I think they sold alot but don't have the stock, else it would have shipped already..

    • Same boat - except I ordered Monday morning. Sigh. It's been a whole week. Methinks they have no stock.

      • +1

Maybe you should've hassled them about it. I ordered at 8am on Monday and got a shipped notification email on Friday.

        • Then I shouldn't worry much as I ordered midday Tuesday. No word on shipping yet.

        • @EarthMan:
I ordered late Sunday morning and got the shipping email Friday. But I did send them a polite status update request through eBay on Wednesday, just in case they were shipping to the squeaky wheels first. :)

        • I've sent multiple questions about it and keep getting vague responses (or none). Im attempting it all over again today to try and get a wriggle on.

        • Well I've absolutely spammed them about it on eBay, email, their online chat, you name it.

          Current Status:
          Mon 22 Sep 2014 10:14

          Received by Australia Post

          CHULLORA NSW

        • Still no shipping here either, purchased late on Sunday. Sent them a message over the weekend for an update but haven't heard back yet.

        • @the69thhokage: Yeah I did the same just kept sending messages, And I got the exact same auspost update as you but at 10:17 instead of 10:14 this morning. Unlikely that we will receive it today tho

        • +3

          @Annoying Source:

          10:16 here :).

I honestly don't understand everyone frustrations with deliveries. Assuming it comes in tomorrow, which it's on track to, 7 business days to get the phone after the huge amount of orders they would have received is amazing service.

Heck it took just over a month!! for Kogan to deliver my wife's LG G2 from the last ebay 20% off sale. I'm actually very impressed by DWI's turnaround on this one.

        • @stratbargain: I'm annoyed with their answers to any question I asked was very vague or generic but mostly that the ebay listing states shipped from australia but it is quite obvious that they have been shipped from hong kong

        • Could everyone please tell me which colour and size they bought? and what time they confirmed shipment?

        • +1

@iceblock333: I got the 64gb sandstone black, I bought it at 10:05ish on sunday morning and got the shipping confirmation on friday sometime

        • +1

          @iceblock333:
Got the 64gig black version. Nothing yet.

        • +1

@iceblock333: 64gb silk white. Bought at approx 7:50am Moday morning.

        • +1

@iceblock333: 64Gb Silk White bought Sunday night.got shipping confirm. half hour ago.no tracking info yet

  • +1

I'm assuming that some models are more popular than others… And if that's true… maybe I just need a wait a bit… but if it's not the case… and people are getting their phones flips table…. that's why I'm curious with which colour and size everyone bought.

  • +1

I ordered two 64gb white… Monday 6:00pm ish…..still not update even after sending couple of follow ups…

    • Just got update with Auspost tracking details for one of the two phone i ordered Monday evening…..

      • +1

Urgh, nothing for my Monday morning order. WHEN WILL THIS TENSION END?

        • +1

Oh wow. And like that, shipping details emerge.

      • and the tracking details for the Second phone has come in as well….BTW Auspost is still not showing them on tracking….I guess need to wait for few hours for systems to update….

Next one will be Brothers phone ordered on Tues Evening let's when we get tracking for that.

  • 64gb Black ordered Sunday a little after midday. No shipping confirmation as yet. Generic type response to inquiries.

Edit: literally just received shipping confirmation just now. No tracking as yet.

  • My 64gb black was just marked as shipped, ordered late on Sunday night. Hopefully I'll see it this week.

  • laaaame. they say my phone is ready to be sent they just need my phone number, so i tell them my phone number but still nothing, what a tease.

    • Why would they need your phone number? That sounds a bit weird.

      • dont know. but i gave them it anyway, and they are AGAIN asking for my number even though i replied twice to their original message with my number, this is poor.

  • ordered 2 64gb black monday morning

just got shipping confirmation and tracking id but tracking says invalid tracking number on auspost :S

    • Mine is the same…Auspost saying invalid……unlike DHL I don't think Auspost is real time tracking so we may have to wait for few hours for their systems to be updated…

      • +1

Mine said invalid all of friday then for the rest of the weekend just said "information received" so yeah Auspost are pretty slow with their tracking

    • they updated the tracking with a new one and its now received by auspost!

  • Happy days… Guess everyone got there emails in a patch… confirmation email that is.
I'm happy and excited for the phone… will give pos feedback

  • I ordered mine (64GB) Tuesday night - and still haven't received anything yet … looks like I'm in for a long wait…
Anyone else who ordered Tuesday or later get theirs shipped yet ?

    • nope

      no emails/messages as well

    • there is a large amount of people who ordered much earlier and havent even gotten notice of it being shipped so what do you think.

    • My Brother ordered his on Tues mid day…he got msg saying shipment is been prepared and tracking info will be sent by tomorrow…..

  • I meant I haven't received shipping notification yet*

    • that's what i mean as well

  • I received my shipping notification today. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow - but perhaps they just bulk lodged to start issuing shipping confirmations.

  • Mine is out for delivery, so it looks like the first batch of people should start receiving them today

    • Same for me. Yay!

    • Mine still says :
Processed through Australia Post facility at CHULLORA NSW
      :(

      • One of my order is saying the same Received at Chullora Mon 13:47 and it is still showing, …btw i order two phone in two orders to max 15% offer and orders ware 1 min apart and the strange thing is one is showing Chullora and second one is no info available….I guess slow AusPost

    • for those out for delivery today, when did you get notification that it was received by auspost at Chullora NSW (also, is that some sort of massive auspost depot?)

      • -1

Read the above comments on this page, it's there.

      • Yesterday at about 10am

      • +2

Correct…as far as i knw Chullora is big distribution centre, from past experience the shipment will go from Chullora to your local distribution centre and ultimately….one of those red post Van or private contractor do the delivery (same time from Chullora to local centre and to your home/office takes one to two days)

  • +2

Mine was delivered At 9:01 this morning just minutes after I last checked the tracking number, fortunately someone was home to sign for it. Now I just need to hope that everything works smoothly when I start using it

    • First! You win!

    • well done…congrats and enjoy ur new toy……

  • -1

I got mine too!! Woohoo!! that was super fast… considering I only received notification of shipping yesterday… There's hope for everyone!

  • +2

just got mine…!yay..shipping confirmation was at 2 pm last afternoon…! wow can't believe they made their estimated shipping time.Leaving for America tomorrow yay..! omg so exciteddd.Currently have the worst phone in the world- a samsung Duos.Proper phone wheeee…

    • Correct me if I'm wrong, but these versions of the phone won't work on US LTE bands right?

      • someone please clarify this…

also does this phone mean it will never work with telstra 4g 700mhz?

what does it mean for this phone?
are we stuck on 3g forever?

what if they kill 3g band?

        • What I have read….this version of phone may not use LTE/4g in USA (3G will be fine)…however most of Oz LTE/4G bands are covered by this version of 1+

        • according to the oneplus one wiki on whirlpool, teltra variously uses bands 3, 7, 8 and 28 for their 4G. 28 is the new 700mhz. The chinese oneplus one supports 3 and 7. As does the 'international'. Neither the international nor the chinese support 8 or 28.

          http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_oneplus

  • Just got my delivered! Can't wait to play with it when I get home from work.

  • +1

Received both of my phones 16GB yesterday & 64GB Black today.

The phone which i received today had some extra items in the packaging, a box of Chinese tea and a Nano sim adapter? LOL

Anyone else received anything extra with their phone?

    • That's not tea…..
