    LG G3 for $140 extra.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161181

    Pro:
Faster CPU, better GPU, 2k Display (can be a con as well) and all this other stuff, bigger display

    Con:
Worse battery life due to that screen

    just consider it.

how bad is bad for battery life? All smartphones are terrible. Have to recharge every night.

I think he is comparing G2 as the G2 can easily last up to 2 days with normal use (G3 might be slightly less). This is coming from using S2, S3 and S4 where they only last me a day (based on the same usage).

        • yep your 100% right, G2 can easily last 1.5-2days general use or just less than 1.5 in my wifes hands..hehe :) so even if this lasts 1.5 days its great …

        • My misses has the G3. She has about 50% remaining by 8:00pm and uses it for Instagram, Facebook, and texting / calling etc. So the screen is on a fair bit everyday, but still has a decent battery time.

        • Turn off the vibration may give you 2 more days ;-)

801 and 800 are virtually the same processor, just newer stepping. There's actually a version of the 800 faster than the slowest 801 version. I doubt you'll see much if any benefit in real world performance, especially when you have to push around all those extra pixel on the screen.

I am still so annoyed 1440p phones exist
the pixels on my note 3 are not even visable when i try my hardest to see them, my eye's focal length can't into that and i checked, that's 14 cm away. sure i aint got nothing on mid to early teens or children, but I think i'm safe in saying that no one really needs something over 1080p. hell, 1080/1200p on a 7-inch screen is still sharp as crap
but no, lets never let this train end.

      • well, that's the point of high pixel density… So that images and user interface can be crisp and sharp

        • +1

yeah, but we already got as sharp as we need it to be. hell, 720p was fine, no one really complained about 720p. I thought 1080p would surely be the end of it, you cant see the pixels anymore, -surely- consumers would see there's no difference between resolutions higher than this.
But no, apple releases a 1080p phone and everyone is going "get with the times grandpa" now there's a lot of things i dont like about apple's phones, but at least they seem to stay away from mindless number increasing upgrades.

        • @Lief1250: you need to know that only LG is paying that game atm, flagship s5 is not a quad hd screen, S4 was full hd and so is s5, nexus is still full hd, the new praised one plus one is full hd, htc one xperia z2/3 all full hd. Quad is a waste of battery life..

      • Exactly why the G2 is often considered better. Cheaper and longer battery and negligible difference elsewhere.

      • Thanks any Kit Kat update yet?

        • Yep, typing this comment from my kit Kat g2

the moto g 2014 hasn't been comprehensively reviewed yet but it's battery is the same as the 2013, and the screen is slightly bigger, so it will probably be a bit worse. but anyway, the LG G2 is the best by far, 11 hours+ of web browsing, the moto g is probably around 8-9 and the nexus 5 is a little under 5.
      check it out here:

    • I saw them earlier. I dont know if reliable.
I contacted them yesterday. They did say they have 12 month warranty but from themselves only.
No reviews as such. So, not sure if they can be trusted.
Their listing indicates it works in australia.
It seems people buy from DWI on ozbargain. Not much info about that cheaper retailer.

  • eBay is down? Tried to sign in to pay for a purchase (after using CashRewards link) and connection times out. Saarrks.

  • They just cancelled my order.

We are afraid that the shipments received were returned back to our suppliers as the packaging has failed our quality standards and unfortunately we are not expecting any new shipments. We sincerely apologize in this regard.

Given the situation, would you like to have the order replaced with another item instead? As compensation, we would like to offer you a 32GB micro SD card.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

    Thank you!

    • same here. I knew something was up when I got an email at 3.30pm saying they'd get back to me within 48 hours with an answer to my question (I didn't have one). Looks like it's off to this bloke:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UNLOCKED-LG-G2-D802-3G-4G-MOBILE-…

      • Careful, these are "new" rather than "brand new" and thus may be refurbs or factory seconds according to eBay's definition of "new".

      • don't know if anyone else purchased off this guy, but be careful they are selling u.s. model ls980 flashed with d802 firmware..

        • How do you check for this?

        • @quop: unfortunately you need to pop the back cover, as nowhere else has the model number.
Symptoms will be that the check for updates May be disabled and 4g reception will be bad to non existent. 3g should work fine though

        • @berserkk: Ok thanks. What, if anything, did you say to the seller? PM me / enable your messages if you prefer to discuss privately.

  • I can't believe they cancelled the order. Can they do this?

  • It's better they cancel if they can't deliver. Rather you chase later. What's alternative?

  • Anyone actually get an update of shipped or anything
