Shame these can't be had for as cheap as early this year. Could get a V5-573 i5-4200U (no other significant difference from this one) for $499 in January ($578 from MSY minus $79 cashback).
Good laptop if you want something similar to an Ultrabook without the high price. Thin, quiet, long battery life, but kinda grainy screen.
Note while there's an mSATA slot in these, getting to it (or the RAM, HDD, etc.) requires removing the whole rear cover held in place by hidden tabs, which can easily bend/snap even if you're slow and careful. Result being the cover won't sit as flush after reassembly.
Even cheaper one year ago in this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117039. I paid $679 ( before $79 cashback ) for the older heavier V5-571P with i3 3227u which weighs in @ 2.5 Kg. and all plastic unlike the slick aluminium on the above. On the plus side it is a touchscreen and has backlit keyboard. I still mainly use an older laptop with W7 which I still prefer over W8/8.1.
Hard tell if a $79 cash back offer is available as well on this model or not.. looks like this model???
