    • a cup that is filled with Slurpee

  • Please either upload your photo to OzBargain (My Account - files) or an external service (e.g. imgur) and post in a comment on this page.

In earlier years I used a traffic cone (which is sadly interstate)… as a word to the wise, don't use the hole at the bottom for skulling. The brain freeze is phenomenal.

    Nice

Well my DGTEC tablet from DSE was useless, but at least I could use the box for something: with the help of copious amounts of glad-wrap to make it water-tight ;)

My make your own slurpee at home machine. So it doesn't freeze over in the deep freeze.
Filled to the brim with premium 4am 7-11 slurpee.

    • This is genius.

    • Give him a medal! That made my day :)

Didn't have a container, so made my own out of Lego. The cup didn't fit in the hole at 7/11 but I haggled the guy and he let me get it ;)

This is my first time to taste Slurpee. It may be too much for me. The store manager was shocked when I bring my big steamer pot into store. I asked him whether I can use this container. He felt very helpless. Finally, he agreed.

Haha, that looks nasty in that ghetto pot. No wonder the manager was speechless.

First one for the day, all I could find at work.

Finally after seven litres he was happy (3L milk bottle for size reference)

      Adorable potato head!

I was thinking of buying the biggest bra I could find and filling the cups (after waterproofing them) with Slurpee… but thought it'd be completely un-funny and difficult to carry.

It was punnier in my head.

  • When does this comp end? I presume midnight when BYO cup day ends? (I tend to ask stupid questions)

    When are winrars drawn?

    • +1

Yep will end midnight tonight. If all goes to plan I'd say we will announce tomorrow evening.

Found the biggest cookie jar in the house, which just narrowly fitted through the cut out at our store.

The missus got creative when I got home.

    • Your missus deserves a second upvote.

My last minute idea… click me!

Cut the coconut myself (saved the juice and pulp for later), and broke a good knife in the process. Not so OzBargainly / cost-efficient lol.

Biodegradable cup! BYO'd the straw too - also enviro friendly :) It's made of pyrex glass.

The coconut is wonderfully insulating. Keeps my hands from getting cold while holding and drinking from it lol.

A good use of old light bulbs…

First time in trying to upload photos. The Slurpee mix was so not ready to be used but I went ahead anyway in the spirit of Oz Bargain.

    • Hahaha, love it! I hope you win.

    • Small catch but interesting vessel.

  • +1

    Rice cooker.

I saw the 7-11 staff refused a slightly oversized bucket.

My son and I took our lucky New York Yankees popcorn bucket which was right on the limits of rules. The guy at the counter couldn't believe it and tried to deny- lucky I'd bought my tape measure.
The bucket was originally $12 us filled with popcorn, but it came with free refills until the 7th innings of the game. Bet they never had anyone refill 7 times. My son shared popcorn with people over 3 rows it was a great way to make friends http://imgur.com/ZhVfzRb

    • The 7/11 store dude where I went told me about the types of cups people brought in earlier - the biggest one was what he described as a "champagne bottle" and he gestured to show that it was at least a metre tall and as wide as an average sized person. He was a chilled out guy, seemed to find the whole BYO Cup Day good fun. Enjoyed talking about the different vessels that people brought in etc.

I couldn't see anything in the store to measure our cups against to make sure they were within the limits. I actually went to 2 stores tonight (the first ran out of my favourite flavour, so I went to the second nearest store to get my slurpee fix lol). The first store didn't have any indication of there being a limit to cup size either.

Interesting to hear that some 7/11 stores are more strict than others.

Your bucket doesn't look anywhere near as big as the buckets that each member of a family (of five or six?) had and were filling up well past the brim at the 7/11 I was at… the parents were pretty oblivious to their kids abusing the crap out of the machines :/

  • +3

Yes - one bucket was enough for the four of us and I have 2 three litre containers in the freezer for the holidays. My husband couldn't believe we took this bucket - he wanted us just to take a 3 litre container- but my son just shook his head and said "dad face it we're cheapskates - it's what we do".

    • Ozbargainer in the making then!

Managed to get a couple more 'cups' done tonight
http://imgur.com/hRW5hKW This turned out really well, couldn't get it to stay on my head without falling off though.

http://imgur.com/OqVkHP9 Got this one about an hour ago and ended up getting the good stuff before my brother.

http://imgur.com/CNhxXbw Brothers creation, was meant to be layered but that didn't work so well, he says it tastes good at least though..

    • Ugh, noo! Dishwashing gloves would be gross to drink out of, man. lol
