  • +7

Can you bring a cup with a hose attached to the bottom that leads back to your house?

  • +3

    Is a bucket a cup?

    • yes, look on there FB page , someone just posted a pic with one full.

  • +1

    How about a Wheelie Bin?

  • +4

    Ute tray FTW.

    • -1

more like fail. You have to get it at least through the door and to the machine.

      • -1

Cos pmupsinep was really going to fill a ute tray up with Slurpee, right?

Or is your analysis of a joke the actual fail?

        • +6

I think he actually believed I was going to ram raid the store.

I don't even know how to respond to him.

  • +3

I've never participated in BYO cup day…

How does it work if people keep going in with large vessels and filling up with huge amounts of Slurpee? Don't the machines run out of Slurpee pretty quickly?

    • +2

Yep. so except for a few lucky people, most will just be left with liquid.

    • There is size limit for the cup. It has to pass through the oval size in vertical stand.

  • What are the limits of the cup?

  • +2

From memory its got to do with something you are able to can carry back once its filled up, also it needs to fit into the store when you get in, otherwise someone you hire a tanker and fill up their pool with it.

    • From memory, my wheelie bin fits your description lol.

    Dear 7-eleven folk,

Please bring back the $1 energy drinks promotion.

    Regards,

  • Obviously this is from a previous year. Note that there is no limit on the length of cups.

    https://www.facebook.com/SlurpeeAustralia/app_51100535225995…

All cups must be clean, watertight, safe to consume from and must fit within the following size dimensions: 230mm (width) x 260mm (height).

    • not sure about that as someone just posted on the 711 facebook page a normal sized plastic bucket filled with Cola slurpee.

      • It depends on the store. Some are very tight about the restrictions, other couldn't care less.

  • That green tub looks disgusting, I would never eat anything from that

    Hello diabeetus!

    • +4

They offer sugar free flavours now, called 'zilched' (as in 'how many calories?' 'zilch'… or something like that lol). They're the only ones I drink now.

and yes, yes - Cancer, here I come.

I will enjoy this healthy start to my day on the way to work

  • Thanks OP. I love BYO cup day

  • FYI, for those doing the Slurpee BYO Cup challenge, we will be running a competition for the most creative cup. See here. Good luck!

Yuck sounds like a food safety nightmare. Everyone bringing in their mangy cups…

  • $3 … so no matter what size cup, 7/11 still makes a profit.

    • I know right, businesses making money and profit. Who would have thought?

      • Its almost like they don't want to go bankrupt! The bastards!

  • I still have some of these in my drawer:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/92914

Perfect container for Slurpee because these bad boys come with additional flavours (banana and apple).

  • Slurpee zombie apocalypse day!
Sweet! The day starts with hordes of people marching to their nearest 711 carying buckets. Pretty soon however things will go sour
people writhing on the ground shouting owww my bwains, closely followed by rainbow coloured spew everywhere.
    BITTER END OF CIVILIZATION.

Heh enjoy peeps but dont Broaden this deal. Only take as much as youre going to drink.

  • So apparently my 7-eleven had a cut out stand with a hole where you check whether your cup is within dimensions.

    • +1

Yes my kids and their friends went with a bucket that was "too big" yet I see photos of exact same buckets on facebook page. Not impressed kids were made to pay full price. (personally i am rejoicing at the fact kids will be diabetes free for another year) I am annoyed at 711 not keeping their word tho.

  • At my local 711 there was 20 college aged guys with buckets and the guy behind the counter said they weren't allowed as they wouldn't fit through the display hole.

They ended up showing the guy pictures of much larger buckets other people had bought and he told them they could fill their buckets. It was awesome. Great promo idea.

    • College age? You live in the USA?

      • There are Colleges in Australia, they aren't 'Universities' because they mostly do training or technical courses.

        • A college is a term for a dormatory in Australia, at a university.
Also some secondary schools call themselves colleges.
In addition places that teach some trades/skills have "colleges", ie like hair stylists.

        • @RI4V4N:

Yet the term is so uncommon that no one in Australia would actually use the term 'college age' as an accepted generalisation. The 3 types of colleges you have mentioned cater for many age brackets.

        • @thorton82

I live in Canberra. Everyone use that as a generalisation. College is where you go for year 11 and 12. Usually at a different location to your high school unless you are loaded.

        • That's a TAFE. In Canberra it is called CIT. Canberra Institute of technology.

  • This is how the Slurpee is delivered.
