  • Victoria too…

  • are the codes actually unique or are tehy like hungrys/kfc where they say they are but you can keep using the same code over and over again?

    • yes, unique

    • they are like 10 alpha/numerical codes. it looks unique

  • Where are the details?

guess its time to carb up :p

Ive always wanted to grow my own bread

    • +11

separate and plant each individual slice 30cm apart and 5cm deep, keep well watered and fertilised and in 7 to 10 days you should see your own bread tree beginning to grow

works just the same way for growing a money tree except you use crisp clean bank notes rather than bread

next up in going to try and grow a ferarri tree, wish me luck

Lol. Now I know why the mafiosi bury their dosh.

      • +1

Ferarri's don't grow on trees dummy

        its a root vegetable.

so some people who actually buy the bread could potentially missing out to get the seed?
    unfair..

  • Saw this when I bought my bread at woolies last night and forgot to post. Good deal IMO. Seeds apparently have a rrp of $4.

  • I think this deal is going to have some huge problems. How would they ask for seeds back from someone who didn't buy the bread?

It makes me not want to buy it in the first place as the codes can only be used once.

Multiple claims will be permitted, subject to the following: (a) Only one (1) claim is permitted per Unique Code; (b) Up to two (2) Unique Codes may be claimed per week; (c) The claimant must complete the steps set out in Condition 7 for each separate claim; (d) A maximum of thirty (30) Yates® Vegetable Seed packets are permitted to be claimed per household during the Offer Period; and (e) Unrecognised Unique Codes shall be deemed invalid.

Overall, I'm going to pass on the dubious offer. The marketing department didn't think much about how to execute their offer. I bet someone is going to lose their job.

    • How's that dubious?

      • I think he means too complicated for what the offer is.

    • They possibly could ask for the seed back.
      T&C says

      10) Original Abbott’s Village Bakery® proof of purchase receipt(s) must be retained by all claimants.

And if two claims come using the same code, the legitimate owner would probably be able to prove they have the wrapper and/or receipt.

I must admit I have thought of the possibility of copying a code then making it unreadable,
but that still means someone could possibly miss out, so I would feel too guilty,
and touching a wrapper that someone else could buy is a big no no (I wouldn't like it to happen to me).

the unique code is printed on the outside of the wrapper, in the 'bunched up' plastic opening that they seal up with that white plastic thingy. It's pretty hard to read without actually opening the pack.

That said, they really should be printing this unique code inside the bag so people don't 'steal' and/or redeem them, like mentioned in this thread. It's a poor implementation, imo.

        • Today there were some guys at Tip Top at my local woolworths and I asked them for one from the trolley. Sweet. I hope to get my seeds soon.

I saw someone taking a photo of the wrapper by spreading it wide. You definitely can see it without opening and taking off the "square part". They should have put the code smack bang where the square part is…

    This deal sounds seedy!

  • +1

I wonder if they are the same seeds they bake into their bread? … lucrative proposition

  • Great deal, they're actually 4 packs of different variety seeds in each bag.

Anyone else having trouble submitting the form? I fill in every part of the form (using Firefox 32 or IE) & it doesn't submit, if I'm lucky I get an error message that says "You can’t discover a new species if you don’t fill in your details/code!" :-/

Fixed today, worked first go. Wonder if other people had the same problem & gave up?

      • I tried it at 8pm yesterday and it worked okay.

  • tried one code and website said invalid…. facepalm

    • my code just worked.

    • sorry - does this mean you received facepalm seeds? I thought they were hard to grow directly from the seed!
