    Interesting deal. Thanks op. .

    Mmmmm $1483 for a new 6D! Tempting…

  • hows tamron 90mm VC for canon mount? been eyeing for it for long

    • I have the Nikon mount. It's excellent !

    • Have the Nikon too.. Love it!!

    • +1

I had the original 90mm SP and it was brilliant. As the basic design hasn't changed significantly (just been 'tweaked' over the years) I would buy one of these without hesitation if/when they bring one out for the Sony E mount so I can use it on my A7….

      • but older version doesnt come with VC am i right..?

        • The VC version is internal focusing too whereas the older ones extend. Image quality is excellent on both, especially for the price.

    • I have the older non-VC version on a Nikon mount. It is a fantastic macro lens but totally unreliable AF for anything at medium distance to infinity (very hit and miss AF with portraits, but when it's a hit the pictures are excellent!). I have had 2 copies - an older one with an aperture ring which I sent back as it was not working right, and a brand new one with no aperture ring. Both copies had the issue with AF at medium distance to infinity. I was hoping to use it for double duty as a 90mm prime. Kept it for the macro which I'm thrilled with.

    • While we're on the topic of macro lens; are there any other good alternative 1:1 macro lens for Canon mount (can be any brand)?

      • heard sigma 105 is good, but the downside is its weight…

  • thanks ! besides using it for macro and portrait..what do u use it for ?

    • That's all u want it for.

$2254 for the d750 vs the $2600 from Diamonds. Tempting

  • I think I'll finally get the Olympus body cap fisheye lens.

      Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS is $167

      • I find 50mm a bit long for everyday use unfortunately. Absolutely the best value for portraits though!

      • Bought that last night.

      • Aww bought this lens on Monday for $199. Great lens though!

      • Not any more - they jacked the price up overnight :-(

    • nice, i'm tossing up between the 30mm and the 19mm which is $156 also..

      • I have both. 30mm is a bit sharper. But 19mm is a much better deal because wide angle 2.8 of this quality is not usually cheap.

2.8 is a bit slow for a 30mm lense (even a cheap one)

In the end it depends on use… personally i think 19mm on APS-C makes much more sense as an only lense option

        • I have Sony 16mm F2.8 but I find it a bit too distorted on the edges,

        • @blue_panther9_9

I have the Sony 20mm F2.8, it is a great lens that I have it on my camera nearly all the time. Reviews said the edge distortion has improved a lot on this 20mm over the 16mm one. I like that fact that it also takes fish-eye or wide-angle converter lens just like the 16mm F2.8.

        • @blue_panther9_9:

I have that too.. worst prime lense I've ever seen. Not even sharp in the centre. Performs worse than most zooms I've seen

Sigma 19mm f/2.8 is far, far better.. more like a real prime lense.

  • Are DigiDirect one of the retailers eligible for the current Canon cashback?

    • Yes

Anyone know when they'll be getting any stock for the A7s? Been waiting for weeks.

    • +1

This week, or next the latest, was there last weekend when they said stock will start to arrive this Monday. I picked up mine from Micheals today.

  • A D810 looks good at that price.

  • Damn. I bought a Canon 16-35mm f4L IS off eBay for $1130 just a few days ago. Would have preferred Aus stock for $20 more.

  • is there an email with t&c s?
please post the t&c or email link

  • Olympus 17mm f1.8

wonderful lens, best price out there at the moment. Never leaves my em1.

    http://www.digidirect.com.au/camera_lenses/olympus/micro_fou…

    • that was $356.90 (factory packed but new) delivered without the 15% discount on their ebay store.. i knew i shouldda gotten it! D:

care to share some pics you took with it?

      • not mine, but you can see the versatility here https://www.flickr.com/groups/mzd17mmf18/

        • thanks!

and sorry drb i just realised i was talking about the 45mm f1.8 not your 17mm f1.7. mind wasn't aware @ 4am in the morning :P

  • Now they put on a sale!

Either way, the N1 lenses I bought were all cheaper at Teds 15% Nikon lens sale anyway. Hope everyone gets a deal though :-)

  • Aww man so tempted to pick up a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Canon Mount

    Sale price: $689 (less GST - $626)

    Some comparison pricing:
    CameraPro (AU Stock): $783
    DigitalRev: $869
    DWI (HK Stock): $906
    B&H: $899 USD =~ $999 AUD+postage

For whatever reason, local Sigma stuff generally seems to be cheaper than import.

    • Was one click away from the Sigma 120-300 f2.8. Yum.

  • Any coupons around?

  • Have people bough from this store before? How are they?
    Recommended?
Assuming it's all Australian stock and warranty given they have a store front.

    • +1

yes they are good with loval pickup options

  • I have just attempted to put one in a basket for EOS6D, the final price shown is $1,663.00 which is 10% of the $1,848.00

TRS and Cashback should equal $1,311.81.

Anyone has suggestion regarding EOS7DMk2 vs EOS6D?

    • Wow that's an excellent price..

Depends on your priorities - obviously the 7Dii will be best if you are in to sports/wildlife. 6D is great for portraiture/lanscape.

    • Suggestion…

I have recently made a posting regarding purchasing this camera at TEDs (Sorry I don't know how to hyperlink to my own comment)

I wonder if TED would like to price match this. It's worth a try.

I know the cost at TED is $1,999. So if they could price match it at $1,663 THEN stack it with the current promo of $100 "Trade-in" (which is a given discount, you actually don't have to trade in anything).

Then the price would become $1,563. TRS and Cash back would make it $1,220.91

Digidirect is a bricks and mortar shop in CBD Elizabeth Street. I am sure next to it is a Teds Camera store.

    • high end cropped body vs mid range full frame, the pricing difference is nearly $1K, where is your pocket sitting?

    • Just did Camera comparison on HERE

In my eyes the 6D slams the 7D Mark II IQ wise. Sure the 7D2 will be faster and better AF but is that worth it?

    • $1463 is the price for 6d with cash back. It is $1663 when you put it in the basket because you have to make the claim through canon for the cash back.

You make your t.r.s claim on the total you spend in store or online.

What do you take photos of? the 7d mkii is fast. Really fast. But for a good all rounder the 6d is great camera.

  • Any info on Nikon cash back?

  • Please add Fujifilm cashback to your post. $200 off the excellet XE2 and X-Pro1 bodies. Ends 30th Sep
    http://fujifilm.claimit.com.au/cashback200

    • Added! And add more details on the post. :)

      Thinking of grabbing X-T1 myself!

  • On the site it mentions all products come with 12 month manufacture warranty.

Sigma lenses should come with a 2 year warranty from CR Kennedy though, is this correct?

    • Yes, it is 2 years warranty from CR Kennedy.

  • Damn… a flash I bought from E-Bay during the 15% off sale is actually cheaper at Digi now :(

    Some good deals here.

  • Can I just add I bought an out of stock lens from Digidirect on backorder during earlier 10% off sale. They honored the sale price and I got it a couple of weeks later. I did this in store though.

  • +1

Thanks for the heads up OP!

I got the misses to pick me up an Olympus 25mm f1.8 mft lens on her lunch break in their Melbourne cbd store.

    • +1

Great lens. I got them when they were released for $400! Now it's only $340 after the 10%!

      • Yeah, I can't wait to have a play with it.

I'm off to Japan for a month next week and was planning on picking one up there, but this price was too good to ignore. I'll put it to work while I'm there. ;)

  • Price for Sony A6000 is good.

  • damn i bought this Olympus E-P5 2 weeks ago http://www.digidirect.com.au/shopping/search?x=0&y=0&viewtyp…
it's half the price of Ted's and Harvey Norman, much cheaper than B&H

  • Nikon d750 pre-order also has the 10% discount. I think it is time for me to get a FX camera.

    • Yes! The price dropped again even further it seems but now it isn't available?

      • I have just contacted them and the price has gone back up and this time it is available for preorder.

        • Still only around $100 more than grey which is still pretty good.

  • visited the store yesterday in melbourne CBD along elizabeth street, was served by 1 black guy who was quite rude in my opinion, has anyone experienced that or am i overreacting ?

    • You are not overreacting at all. Some of the sale person is rude, period.

      • We try our very best to give good service but sometimes the customer and the sales person dont hit it off. At the moment we are offering some of the best prices you can get in australia, for australian stock. During a sale period we get pretty hectic as you might appreciate and we do what we can. As OP has said there are some fantastic cash backs from the suppliers to be used in conjunction with the 10% off… but all prices on the website are with the cashback taken into account.

Our sale finishes tomorrow, so come in or jump online if you want to grab a bargain before its gone.

    • Long story short - many years ago, I had an encounter with the same guy. I wouldn't say he was rude, but I didn't like his pushy style. I've had some dealings with a couple of other staff there recently who have all been very nice.

Unfortunately, this is true in other stores such as Teds (had one good experience, then one so bad to almost turn me off there for life).

  • Damn, I am torn whether to go with the new d750 or a second hand d800e (cheaper by half a grand). Any advice? I love high resolution and a tilting screen. I think I will just toss a coin.

    • A new d750. Brand new aussie 2 year warranty. Unless you are getting a stellar cheap as chips price on the D800e, do you know how many shutter releases it's had?

      • 15000 shutter releases.

  • +1

Digidirect in Sydney and bondi had no stock of Canon 6D so I priced matched at JB Hifi. Love JB Hifi.

  • Thanks guys! Just picked up the 50mm 1.8 for my camera, and a QR for my tripod! Beat everywhere else by a fair margin!

    • Just an update on this - they cancelled my order as I was unable to verify my location - as we're new here. So I asked to change the order to my Dad's name as he had it changed and the response I got from the particular person was "That's too much effort here." Gee thanks… Could a rep please get in touch with me - I'd like to change the name under the order, which I'm sure is possible (it's the same surname).

      • You aren't alone experiencing their customer service, they have one of the worst customer service.

      • Follow up again: Sent through an email to sales and got a reply next day apologising and putting my order through - so props to them for fixing this up and sorting me out!

        • +1

Double follow up: Received my order yesterday!

  • Got the Sony SEL50F18 yesterday and on my way back to office, picked up a sony polarized filter for $30 down from $149 at Videopro/Sony Centre in Brisbane CBD. Very happy.

  • Thanks OP and digidirect. Got a Tamron 24-70VC for Canon 6D. So far so good.
