This is the newly released Kindle Fire

Unfortunately as Australians, we are paying $15 more than Americans for the same Tablet.

International Customers can only buy from the link provided (i.e. for $114)

I quite like the idea of a 6" Tablet as it feels more like a book when reading kindle eBooks in bed

Enjoy

  • Finally something to read all these kindle books on

Hmmm. 5 gigs of usable storage, no SD card expandability. Quad core but budget Mediatek processor, no cellular or GPS. Won't be competing against tablets or phablets but could be a good alternative against the other cheaply made ebook readers with lousy 480 x 800 displays.

its supposed to be a budget kindle under $99 for Americans. Australians have to pay a premium as usual.

  • I'm sure it will be @ DSE soon and then they will have some sale on. Glad there are new ones out though

Hold on, 6" tablet? That's smaller than my phone ☺ (Xperia Z Ultra)

      Congratulations.

Doesn't your phone cost like 5-7x more? grin

Comes with free unlimited cloud storage for photos taken with the tablet. I wonder how they know if you've taken it with your tablet? Couldn't you just copy a bunch of photos onto the tablet and get them uploaded via the tablet?

problem is the Fire OS which is heavily locked down version of android. the cheap price is subsidized by tablet throwing ads at you at every opportunity and not much you can do

Actually the cheapest US prices are with Special Offers enabled, the ones without Special Offers is US$20 more.

I believe the o'seas versions are without Special Offers so actually it's not that bad a deal! Almost the same price as the US versions (well for Kindle HD 6" and 7", not for HDX 7")
