    • To be fair, the G3 was only added to the title after this deal was posted

      • Its kool I have changed my post :)

      • Yeah I saw! That's why I didn't report and left it up to OP

        • No I mean it doesn't have that in title now.

        • @TRENT86: no as in when I saw this you had already added it to your title and when I checked back I couldn't edit…

        • @BanSlavery: Ahh ok :)

  • +1

Keep in mind this is the 2GB version which is known to be a touch slow feeling

  • +9

I find a funny thing. When I added all three products into my cart, the price dropped to $409. http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/109782/25333/shopping_c…

    • -1

same.. to purchase or not to purchase

      • +3

I don't think HM will honor this once they notice this. But it's worth trying to pick it up in your local store ASAP. By the way, I'd rather leaving it to those who really want this phone than buying by myself.

    • +2

      It shows up as $408.92
      It's a shame I already got one.

  • -1

If I buy one should i just call up and say process my order? or do I need to wait for them to fulfil it?

  • I might give it a go, got nothing else to waste my time on today.

  • +4

It just worked for me. paid with paypal. Total $408.92 AUD for all 3 items. Now just waiting to see if they do a dick smiths on us and tell us it's a "price error"

  • +1

    Worth a crack!

  • +1

Also ordered - paid via paypal. Will see if this is another "UE Boombox" type fiasco.
Update: Just got an email saying that the order is being "reviewed" by the online team. Hmmm.

    • +2

Well if they don't honour it, they better refund your cash that instant. I would be so angry if they took awhile to refund your cash! But I hope it turns out for OzBargainers!

    • +1

Just got the "we haven't accepted your order" email. Well it was worth a try.

  • +1

Worked for me..not sure hardly normal is gonna honour that

  • +1

I don't think they will honor it but it is worth a try for those that wants it.

  • +1

    Order being reviewed….hmmm

  • +3

Order being reviewed ehh? Sounds like it's dead in the water. On the plus side this deal forced me to get out of my tracksuit pants in preparation for going down the street..

  • +1

    Fingers crossed

  • +1

Is there any laws that covers them to get the items back if they have already handed over the goods when you picked it up and already out the store?

    • +1

Doubt it. You paid for it :P

    • +1

Don't think so. If you can actually get your hands on it the transaction should be complete.

      • -4

It would be funny and annoying if they trolled with us with a "Order is ready for PickUp" email then instores they realise the error and issue a refund! lol

        • +1

Different degrees of funny to people I guess. Wicked sense of humour maybe.

  • +1

If they honour it, seems like a ridiculously good deal. The watch and phone adds up to be just over $700 on Kogan. Not necessarily the cheapest, but Kogan's prices seem to be quite competitive AFAIK.

  • +1

Page not found when trying to add to cart! =(

    • +1

thats for the black one, works with the silky white

  • +1

They only charge me $338 and tell me the LG G Watch and SD card are ready for picking up but without the phone. Anyone else?

    • +3

That is sneaky, means u pay full price for the watch and sd card.

  • +1

I have ordered all 3 for around 408, waiting for pick up notice.

    • +1

Me too but only received confirmation about G watch and SD card. Bank account was charged 338 for them.

      • +1

Still waiting for my confirmation email…sure taking a long time, how long did it take you?

        • +1

My confirmation email arrived about 3 mins after I checked out.(I paid via credit card)

      • What does your reciept say from HN? Does it mention all 3 items?

        • +1

I did not get the tax invoice. I checked my bank account and it was charged $338 not $408. In the confirmation email, only G watch and SD card are mentioned.

        • +4

          @tianyujojo:
Cancel your order - effectively you purchased watch and sd card at their regular price.

        • +2

@oleglap: Just gave their online team a call and was told that it was a system error. Order was cancelled and money will be refunded to credit card in 3 working days. Game Over.

    • Me too, see what happens

    • +1

Hi XXX! Thanks for placing your order with us. However after careful review, we have decided to not accept your order. We apologise for any inconvenience.

  • i ordered one and when my friend tried its showing an error. i guess they found out…lets see what happens. finger crossed.

  • I think they just fixed it.

    • It's only been fixed with regards to the SD card. I tried and my total was $888, and the watch was being charged full price.

  • Not working for me anymore, damn my hesitation!

EDIT, the $408 deal that is. Also cannot get the watch for $1

  • -6

Goodluck with the price error guys

    • +1

lol strong negs… feel like this could've been genuinely hoping people get it

      • +3

Lmao it was.. cos my Canon 600d for $99 was refunded and I can only empathise with you lot.

  • No deal, just receive this

"Thanks for placing your order with us. However after careful review, we have decided to not accept your order. We apologise for any inconvenience."

    • Same. Damn!

    • same here :( : (

    • Same…
They could have included a reason on their boilerplate response - Maybe something like "We made a stupid mistake AGAIN" :p

  • Not working anymore for me, my total was $888. I gave up, anyway thanks OP.

  • Got a cancellation mail ..damn it..

  • Just received email, order has not been accepted.

  • -3

Is anyone going to email them and try and get them to change their minds?

    • +1

lol, seriously? Forget it, it is not going to be honoured. It was a pricing error. You will be refunded, the end. Don't like it, how about you send an email? :)

  • +2

lol i got a call saying to I want to still process the order at the correct price. Apparently someone had called customer service and advised them of the error roflmao

    • +6
    • +3

Wow, that is some serious butthurtness right there. Can't believe someone would do that!

  • +5

Starting to think HN and other desperate stores do these 'price errors' to whip up a bit of OzB and bargains frenzy as free advertising. Being constantly reminded that HN still exists for next to zero dollars in marketing budget is a great ROI, then again their reputation as a shoddy IT backoffice system is firmly in place like DSE.

Dick and Hardly need to merge and be Hardly Dick Normal or something.

  • +1

    Damn professionals.

    Cheers,

    DH

  • +1

Yeah a weird pricing error. Once you added all 3 you could just keep adding stuff, I added the Samsung galaxy s4 and it only added $150 to the price. HN needs to fire the online pricing guy

  • +1

someone from HN called me and said they will refund.

We need people to pass the IQ test before signing up OzBargain account - the mole who called HN and informed the pricing error I am telling you.

    • Whoever it was, you are a pathetic sad human being.

  • Because they would have gone through with the transaction if no one had mentioned it

  • hmm so wait… is this still a good deal?.. a friend was saying that the g3 is exp a few issues… is this true?

    • Still a decent deal for the trio

Issues I have heard are screen dimming after long use of brightest setting and resource hogging app

Possible laggines due to so many pixels

      • I also think that 2k screen is bit too much for a smart phone.

  • Is this still working? I'm only getting a discount of $78, to get it to $888.

    • In store only

  • Sister and mum went in-store to buy a set each. I've been helping them set up everything and it's a decent enough deal. Neither the phone nor the watch have the greatest battery life - and the phone tends to over-sharpen text. The watch and Android Wear is pretty tedious to set-up because out of the box, the G3 comes with 4.4.2 and I spent quite a while updating/uninstalling/reinstalling a bunch of crap just to get the watch paired.
Overall they're pretty happy - my mum's coming from an old Nokia phone and my sister from an iPhone 4 so it's definitely an upgrade for them.

    • +1

Picked up mine yesterday for $408. Absolute bargain. Friend of mine couldn't.

      • How did u manage to pick the phone up? I ordered online and chose pickup in store. The online team (or system?) only sent the watch and SD card to the local store with full price. After a conversation with the local staff and their online team via phone, I had to cancel my order as they said it was a glitch of the system and refused to honor it ($408).

  • +1

Just luck I guess was quick to order n pick up.

    • you bastard.

      thats awesome.

    • what time did you order ?

  • +1

    Hey all,

I actually went through the transaction for the LG3 smartphone, LG watch and Sandisk MicroSD card purchase.

Like you guys, I got the transaction under 'review' letter, and subsequent cancellation and refund, including email confirmation.

I emailed them at the time, that I would not be accepting a refund. Receiving no direct response, I called Harvey Norman customer line on 02 9763 6891.

I queried the transaction, and told it was a 'pricing error'. That was decision from 'management'. I therefore informed the service rep that despite the 'reasoning' or 'excuse', they were obligated to honour the transaction, which I'll detail in a sec.

Furthermore, I got a call from a rep at Harvey Norman on 02 9201 6239. They asked me if i had gotten a refund and email confirmation, which to i replied yes.

I let them know, that I had sent an email regarding the matter, which they ignored. That I had contacted HN Customer line, and had stated the same reasons that I believed they were obligated, by law, to not only honour their price, but as importantly, actually honour the transaction fully paid for.

They also seemed to be calling to make sure we got the refunds, and had no intention of honouring any obligations, or appeasing an aggrieved and slighted customer.

    Go To: https://www.accc.gov.au/contact-us/contact-the-accc/consumer…

    • complete your contact details
    • briefly outline the nature of complaint

My letter, which you can guys can use as a template, editing it for accuracy and relevance, details the following reasoning for my complaint to the ACCC.

    Copy, and attatch a:

    1. same/smiliar relevant written letter detailing said complaint,
    2. a copy of your receipt receipt
As the automated system only allowed me to add [2] documents, I sent the written as rtf, and the receipt as pdf.

    To The ACCC,

On Harvey Norman Online, I made a transaction, and completed payment for:
    LG G3 16GB Smartphone - Silk White
    Product code: 2681833
    HOT PRICE
Add LG G Watch for $1 More
    1
    $628
SanDisk Ultra Micro SD Memory Card 32GB
    Product code: 198576
Just $1 with any Outright Mobile Phone
    1
    $79
LG G Watch - Black Titan
    Product code: 2671118
    Just $1 with a LG G3 16GB 4G Phone
    1
    $259
    Delivery charge $5.95
    Discount( ) - $557.08
    Total Paid: $414.87

Once selecting the discounted LG G3 smartphone, I proceeded via the prompts in my online cart to add the SanDisk Micro SD card and LG G watch for the further discounted and bonus LG items offered for $1 each.

The promotional price total was $414.87, including delivery. Which, I accepted and paid with by [your payment method].

Some time after, I received an email stating that my transaction was under 'review'.

Shortly after this, I received an email that:

Hi [your name]! Thanks for placing your order with us. However after careful review, we have decided to not accept your order. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Order number: [XXXXXXXXX] Issue date: 20/09/14

I sent an email immediate that I was not requesting a refund, and wanted the agreement and transaction honoured.

After no response, this morning I called the Harvey Norman customer line. I spoke to a lovely representative named [XXXXXX]. She informed me, via consultation with management/supervisor [XXXXX], i was told due to a pricing 'error' the phone cost would be $628, though the $1 additional LG items would be honoured if I paid the full price for the LG G3 Smartphone for $628, plus price for delivery.

I informed her that I would be pursuing recourse through the ACCC, and that on accepting the transaction already, they had a legal obligation, regardless of the reasoning or excuses given by management, to fulfill the order.

So under the provisions set out by the ACCC. I wish the retailer to fulfill their agreement to me, re debit my [payment method] for the previously accepted deal, and price offer under the following:

    Price displays—multiple pricing

Sometimes a business may have two different prices on display for the one good.
A business that displays more than one price for the same good must either:
    • sell the goods for the lowest ‘displayed price’, or
    • withdraw the goods from sale until the price is corrected.
This includes discrepancies between prices displayed through labeling (a price label
attached to the goods or anything connected or used with the goods), published online
and published in catalogues or advertisements.

    Example of multiple pricing
A consumer finds a dining table they like on the website of a furniture retailer. The table is priced on the website at 350. The consumer visits the retailer showroom and finds the same dining table in-store marked at 380. The retailer must either withdraw the dining table from sale until the price displays are corrected or allow the consumer to purchase the table at the advertised price.

I also believe, but would defer to your expertise that Harvey Norman's Onlines' actions may have been:

    Bait advertising
Bait advertising is the illegal practice of advertising low prices on goods that are not really
available or are available only in very limited quantities.
You should only offer goods or services at a ‘special price’ if they are available in
reasonable quantities for a reasonable period. State clearly if the good is in short supply
or on sale for a limited time.

    and-

Offering rebates, gifts, prizes and other free items
When supplying or promoting goods or services, it is illegal to offer rebates, gifts, prizes or
other free items without intending to provide them. It is also illegal to fail to provide them
as promised. The rebate or gift must be provided within the specified time or, if no time was specified, within a reasonable time.

The fact that Harvey Norman completely ignored my email, sending out a generic one cancelling my order, has forced me to contact the ACCC swiftly as the retailer has given me little in the way of options.

I refer to the law, and the expertise of the ACCC to act on the matter. I wish to successfully complete the original transaction as quickly as possible, and will abide by the judgement and ruling recommended or enforceable by the ACCC.

Feel free to contact me, should any questions or details for information arise.

    Regards,

    [signed your name]

    • +1

      I can appreciate what you are trying to do, but how about you take it for what it is, a pricing error which you are now trying to extort out of them. Not that this would put a dent in HN but imagine if this was a small business, you could do some real damage. In their terms they also state the followong , so either way I think they are covered;

      (8) Harvey Norman Online may, in its sole and absolute discretion, accept or reject any offer made by you for any reason (or no reason), including an error in the advertised price for, or description of, the products on the website, or an error in your Order.

      • +1

        Hi snagseb,

The law of the land trumps any sale conditions or disclaimers stated or implied, directly or indirectly, regarding a sale offer or transaction.

So, they can practice discretion all they like, the law is the law.

It is about time as a community, we finally put a stop to these ridiculous and weasely practices, with apologies to any innocent weasels reading this post.

        • +1

Mistakes happen and they're going to sending out refunds, what more do you want? Wish people here would stop contacting the ACCC and get on with it

        • +1

          @zelda707:
First time I have ever contacted the ACCC, for the record.

So, you think it's okay for retailers to break the law, is that what you are saying?

Using the 'mistake' or 'pricing error' excuse, informing or stating to a customer unlawful conditions of sale, is breaking the law.

Not only is HN not a small business, which is irrelevant, as a big company, they should be making sure more then any other retailers to follow the law, and not spread disinformation, and deny customers' their rights.

What the heck is wrong with you? Why does this issue, that has nothing to do with you, annoy you so much you post on a shopping forum?

        • @eBayz: Sorry, i'm not having a go at you, just saying

          1. A price error was found
          2. People took advantage of it knowing fully that it was a mistake
          3. Retailer offers refund
          4. But people still aren't happy because they didn't get their product at a ridiculously low price.

Also I bought the $0.01 Norton Car and was very surprised it turned up, but if they didn't honour I wouldn't be complaining and would've just accepted the refund

        • +1

          @zelda707:

If that was a pricing 'error' and it was 'found', by law they have to honour that offer or transaction, up until the 'mistake' is corrected.

That is, if it only was a 'mistake', 'cause believe it or not, retailers employ plenty of clever and trained personnel, to part people like you and me, with our money.

After missing out on an LG2 phone for about $330ish on eBay last week due to my indecision, during the 15th birthday sale, getting a $220 discount didn't seem that unusual to me, personally.

Though the bonus offer of the LG watch seemed generous, retailers do get rebates from suppliers and franchises. It's the nature of retail to move slow moving stock etc.

So, it was it is. I am just going refer to some one in the know, to make the judgement call. I could care less at the end of the day, but i'm not gonna be pushed around.

        • -1

          @eBayz:

while I admire all your effort, but I'm afraid to say that it's all going to waste.. you're not gonna win this unfortunately

        • +1

          @CVonV:
No problemo. It's a cliche, but i'm sticking to my guns on principal.

I've never done this before, so I am interested of what, if anything, comes of it.

        • -1

I think you are basing your accusations on this being a deliberate marketeting 'scam'? If you could find proof of this then I support what you are doing 100%, but I am quite certain it is just a pricing error, sh*t happens man. Good luck with your complaint, but I really doubt you will get anywhere with it.

        • +1

          @snagseb:

          Do i keep biting? Ugh….ok.

          Yeh, nah.

The complaint is pretty straight forward, and based on Price Display-Multiple Pricing issue.

The ACCC can have at it as they wish, and determine if their has been any other breaches of consumer law.

A bit of googling 'research,' suggests it is not the first time this retailer, or some of it's franchisees, have been investigated by the ACCC.

Might get expensive. Really not worth bullying customers and denying them their rights, is it, hardly no……?

For the record, i'm old school.

You give your word, or shake some one's hand, it's as good as a contract. Would be especially nice if a retailer would actually honour a transaction. It is an agreement between two parties, which guess what..? Is a contract, and it's the law.

Had they discussed the issue, we may have come to a mutual agreement, or maybe not.

But, they gave me no option. Not only did they not inform me of my rights as a consumer, but pretended as if i didn't actually have any (rights as a consumer).

Later's all. I'll keep you posted.

        • @eBayz:

You are surprised one of the biggest electrical chains has complaints again them? Really?

You may be old school but you are not shaking hands with anyone when ordering online. You are dealing with complicated shopping cart software with a massive inventory and you need to accept the fact sometimes people make mistakes, just like when a catalogue is printed with the wrong price. I think you are being quite immature about all this.

  • +1

Why the Neg? Is that you, Harvey?

  • +1

If they honored the deal for 1 person they should honor it for everyone who ordered.

    • Don't worry. I'm pretty sure they are lying.

  • I got a phone call today from harvey norman. Telling me the deal was a mistake and asking if i wanted to buy it at the correct price. I declined, but the money was taken out of my paypal account today anyway. Even after they refunded the deal on saturday. Hopefully it'll take a day or so for it to reverse and get the money back. Otherwise i'll have to hassle them about it.

    • +1

If that happened to me, I would be really, really annoyed.

Contact your payment provider, be it Pay Pal or your credit card company, and raise a dispute/complaint.

  • What the hell. I got a message from paypal that they have taken out $408 from my account. I transferred money from my everyday account to my savings account and now my everyday account has a negative balance and have been charged a fee by commbank. Is harvey norman going to pay that fee off since they shouldn't have taken that money out.

  • +1

Is that the original transaction the other day, or was there another separate transaction?

If it's the original transaction, it won't have anything to do with Harvey Norman, it will be a Pay Pal related payment issue, and you'll have to speak with them.

If it's another or separate transaction to your original one, or a dupe.

    Contact Harvey Norman on 02 9763 6891
Open a dispute on Pay Pal,
    and contact your bank.
