  • +2

anyone know how warranty claims work with Zotec cards purchased from the US?

  • +3

ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC20C-4GD5 339.99pp comes with a much better cooler

    • out of stock

    • +1

Woah that thing looks like a transformer, that's awesome.

    • Yep I'm loving the new Asus designs. Might upgrade depending on how big of a leap these new cards are from my current Sapphire 7950.

  • +7

All I can say is do not buy any of the new NVIDIA cards in Australia until prices go down. Prices went down before release and it seems all Australian retailers have not adjusted prices.

    • omg your not falcon of logical increments are you

      im such a fan

    • I'm going to buy one from Amazon and one from Australia then sell what ever I get second :P

  • DAM!!! Base Clock: 1976MHz what a beast of a card haha

  • Has anyone recently order a graphics card from amazon? I'm looking at buying one through amazon as locally here it costs about an extra $80. I've never ordered anything from amazon and was wondering about the process involved, for e.g. does the price from amazon get converted into AUD when you order?

    • +4

They should charge in Aud unless you select otherwise. If you select to pay in USD then your bank does the conversion (which might be cheaper).

  • Was thinking about buying the ASUS one when they come back in stock, apparently it's going to be $350 including shipping. Does anyone have experience buying big ticket items like these in terms of warranties and RMAs?

    • +2

May be best to stick with EVGA as they have world wide warranty (paid postage to Taiwan). However I have read that Amazon is pretty good with returns, but it may cost you a return postage to America.

      • Paid postage to Taiwan? How/where. I have a couple of evga sli cards I need to RNA

        • +1

What's ribonucleic acid got to do with graphic cards. :p

  • This is going to be the normal price for this card right? Shipping seems cheap @US$9 for what is a fairly large box.

    • Would be but that will take two weeks to get here (still waiting for a order I made a week ago) better off paying the $35 for express

  • +3

Pretty butthurt that I ordered a R9 290 from the Ebay sales.. hasn't even shipped and this walks over it for less.

    Oh well!

  • That's a pretty good price. Is 970 comparable to 870 and 670 in class? I don't mean directly, but is the 70 series in the same place compared to the 60 and 80 series, for the 900 range?

Hmm this is pretty misleading. The nomenclature makes it sound like a generation leap over the 800 series. They did this before with a few generations actually.

        • +2

The 600, 700 and 800m (there was no standard 800 series) series were all (with two exceptions) running off the same architecture (Kepler) whereas these newer cards are a new architecture (Maxwell). So this is actually the most significant 'generational leap' in a couple of years. They aren't just rebrands like the last few few generations were.

Even if you ignore the architecture change, the performance increase and price (well, the US price at least) speak for themselves. It's a worthy upgrade, and this series will only get cheaper and better over the next year.

    • +3

It would be if 870 existed it doesn't, 670-770-970, its pretty much in the same position except this time the performance boost is much greater

  • Out of stock now OP

    • still says one more in stock as of this comment

  • -1

How much is the final cost including shipping to AUS?

    • Mine was just under AUD$400 with expedited shipping.
