  • Thanks for my first laugh of the day… WTF is a "luxury computer"?

  • Not a Bad price though, looking at their Gaming systems,

  • Not really that much of a bargain, but considering they build the system for you, it's good for those people that aren't so technical and just want a working HTPC straight out of the box.
With the $550 off it makes it a pretty good deal.
Without it, it's a bit too expensive.

  • "Nirv are currently running a spring special with $550 of all system. Ends tomorrow."
    You mean off, surely! ;-p

  • Not a bad price for an i7 I bought 6 months ago with the discount. would buy one if I need - not at the moment.

  • I configured one machine - and you can get a monster at 2,500 AUD - yes, it has teeth along with the muscles.
However, the most expensive config was over 14,000!!!!

Someone got a lot of bonus this year!

But a good deal for those who do not want to buy their own components and assemble the PC from scratch.
    +ive from me,
    Cheers,

  • Cheeper to just get a friend to build a compter and pay him 550$ lol

  • their base gaming computer is pretty cheap - $665 for E7500/2GB/9600GT/500GB HDD/TT Case + PSU/Vista Ultimate/Home Delivery…just not sure what brand the PSU is, but even if it is generic, it's cheaper than the sum of parts at MSY.

    • +1

How did u you get it for $665? mine comes up as $749 minimum

  • -2

+1 from me. To all those who said its cheaper to build, think again, unless your time is worth jack shit (driving to MSY, wait in the line, compare prices etc etc, yeah I've been there, done that), this is a good price.

Edit: Just bought one, thanks for sharing. Also with the Windows Vista Ultimate, its a full retail version that can be resold later one should you decide not to keep it. I rang up and confirmed this.

  • Deal - thanks to OP

  • it okay..but not a good deal.. compaired to others in the market… as it doesn't include screen or keyboard at the strt price…

  • Okay, not great but okay. Haven't heard of them before though.

  • yer, what the hell is a luxury computer? that's hilarious.

almost as bad as Asus promotion slogans:

    'Rock Solid, Heart Touching'.

    Seriously? WTF

  • What is a heart touching motherboard by the way?

"Show me on the doll where the motherboard touched you"

    • Perhaps Heart Touching = 240v Earth Leakage! :p

  • Just called them. The OS doesn't include free upgrade to Windows 7. If you want that then you need to pay full OS price so extra $120. I think www.ibuypower.com.au might work out better, plus it comes standard with 3 year warranty and Wolfenstein game. If you put code in as PCPP162 you also get $50 off at checkout. They seem to give you more info on the system setup page as well like what brand the hardware is. Not much difference between them though.

$99-$349 to OC your system. hot damn.

  • I like the $1 windows vista ultimate deal, dont need but yeah.. ibuypower is kinda expensive as it is IMO.

    • What's there to like about it? The cost is simply built into the overall overpriced systems.

I don't like it at all, it means that you can't buy a system for cheaper if you don't want the OS.

  • Hmm I think I'll build my own luxury pc.

  • sorry but 'of' is spelt 'off' - by the tenth time i read it i couldn't hold back.

  • Compared to dell's prices… these are pretty good prices… at least you can get a quality system from these guys/girls (also they provide a warranty)

  • Lol they charge for overclocking. 1 search on google is free. Compared to Dell, it is good. Without the $550, don't even think about buying from here.

I just recieved this email from them, but I placed the order on Tuesday. I also checked my online credit card statement, no refund has been given. Before this, I have rang them 3 times to confirm my order, each time I was not given a proper reply. Very dodgy people, will not deal with again.

Unfortunately we have not been able to recover your order. A refund has been issued to the credit card used to pay for the order. We apologise for any inconvenience.

    • the nirv of them. If you have a mate, you can ask them to cobble a PC to your specifications and they could probably do a better job, especially since the socket 775 intel chips and boards are going to be made EOL and thus cheaper :)

thanks for the suggestion, I'm an IT professional and have worked as a computer technician in the past, so I'm capable of building my own system but the thing is I just didn't want to waste my time going to MSY, wait in the line, build it, install the OS etc, just to save a few dollars.

The system I ordered only costed $400 after the discount and that was including delivery and Vista Ultimate. So I figured if I sell Vista I'd get the system for about $200 delivered to my door. "If its too good to be true, well, it probably is".

    Just received same email…..
I have the exact same experience as you citybargainhunter, rang multiple times gave CC details over phone. Transaction had been processed recevied email stating the amount for the order, have screen shots proving the price on that day including the order total.
I guy i rang this morning said they were editted by myself and the email i recevied is editted aswell.
QLD law doesn't help much in this case however the company is NSW so am looking at that avenue.

    • +2

Wow, that is rather disgraceful of them to accuse you of making the screen shots up. Hope you pursue this as far as you can go; dodgy companies like this don't deserve to be in business.

    • +1

wow, that's very low of them to say that kind of thing to you. I sent them an email when I ordered the system but no reply, that's always a bad sign.

  • +1

After pursuing them with the Department of fair trading for NSW, they are apparently going to honor the 609 HTPC I ordered. They have already taken my money and so far no proof of a refund!

No one should ever deal with this company or the owner Michael Shruhan ( Alpha1 computers) aka Marco

I hope the Mods here at ozbargain read this and blacklist this site from ever appearing here again.
