Not trying to be negative, but 60% off is a usual 'deal' with TMF… although, depending on what article you read or the link you are given to click, it can range. Reviews are varied and are mixed.

I've considered subscribing over the last few months, thinking the 60% off was a one-off thing, but after clicking through some separate articles (read:propaganda) they make you go through before giving you a link to an article that's already out of date, the discount seems to be more prevalent than DSE putting eneloops on sale…

    • Go with FN Arena or Intelligent Investor, better analysis and report.

  • I took up one of their $299 for 2 year deals a few months ago and so far enjoy their work. The website is pretty good, the member forums are well managed and have reasonable discussions with the staff jumping in to answer questions etc. I know these deals happen often, but I think it is worth the cost and good value.

Has it paid for itself yet?

      ..voted into parliarment

      • Ain't it the truth. Bring on 2016

  • Well it is normally tax deductible if you buy & own some shares, and yes I have bought some shares they recommended. My dividends for the year were more than the price I paid.

That doesn't really answer the question. After tax, brokerage fees and the subscription fees, did you have more in assets than you would have had you not subscribed. I.e. more than you would have received interest in the bank; more than you would have had you invested it some other way.

    I think ive seen $49/yr before….

    • Seen the US version being offered at this price. Not the local one though.

      • Do you get access to the us stuff with a local sub? And vice versa?

      • Even on online subscription… Australia are charge more than US counterpart.

  • It's always on sale for this price. Wouldn't consider this a deal.

  • This isn't a deal. I get a spam email once a week offering me this.

    • Lucky - or maybe unlucky, you. The fact that a subscriber has 30 days to evaluate whether it's useful, then can cancel at any time and get a pro-rata refund suggests to me that your comment regarding its merits as a deal are unconvincing.

      • You miss the point. Those terms are basically available at any time, so it's not a 'deal'. Sure, the fact that you can get a refund might make it good value, or a good idea, but standard pricing - even if good value - is not a deal for Ozbargain purposes.

        • According to them it's an offer BELOW their standard price. Feel free to take them to the ACCC if that's false. Meantime for anyone who wasn't aware of the offer it's obviously a good deal, assuming they have an interest in market opinion and comment.

        • Herzy, You're right this is the usual discount price, and the reports they provide are not at the level of FN Arena or Intelligent Investor. Motley fool is being smart about appearing in google searchs a lot, but IMO other services as the mentioned above provide better information. You can try for free (without providing credit card details) each of the services for free and see for your yourselves. At the end of the free trial all the services will offer you a "special deal" to continue.

  • Does anyone know if individual subscribers receive anything unique? Or is it just the same thing between all subscribers?
In theory, couldn't people just buy 1 subscription in a group of 10 people?
