Samsung 8GB EVO MicroSD with SD Adapter for $4.95 Including Shipping @ PC Byte

2500

Do I need a fast, 8GB MicroSD card? Perhaps, more importantly - at $4.95 shipped, does it matter? I'm sure you can find a use for it later ;)

We're happy to present this one-off deal for Samsung 8GB EVO MicroSD in retail packaging with MicroSD to SD adapter included.

Terms and Conditions
* Sale lasts strictly while stocks last or until Friday (3/10) Midday - but probably the former.
* Limit of 10 per customer.

Please Note: We anticipate the possibility that there will be heavy traffic to our website for the duration of this promotion - if our website is slow, please bear with us. Please also note that there may be a one business day delay in dispatching your order due to the volume of orders.

UPDATE 12:22 - Lots of requests for other capacities as anticipated - but we want to make sure we don't overstretch ourselves and we can dispatch the orders we do get in a timely manner, so please give us a bit of time to assess how things are going, maybe give us until around 1:30-2pm so we can see what the number of dispatches is like. Then we can make a call then. Worst comes to worst? We'll probably be around next week :P

Update 1:20PM - added some items, currently locking horns with my manager about 32GB/64GB MicroSD cards, apparently some issues due to low Australian Dollar, I'll keep you guys informed.

Update 1:50PM - Added some Lexar MicroSDs, I know, not the best. Still locking horns about something faster. I'll get back to you as soon as I can, sorry about the wait :(

Update 3/10 10AM - For those who are wondering about stock, we managed to secure more stocks of the 8GB EVO yesterday - that's why we are not out of stock. The volume of orders may mean a slight delay in processing and dispatching your orders though - so please bear with us if your order does not get dispatched this side of the week. Sorry I couldn't do much for the other capacities :( You have until midday! Happy shopping! :)

ADDED ITEMS
Sandisk 32GB Ultra SD Card for $20.95
Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 for $129 + shipping.
Lexar 32GB Class 10 MicroSD for $18.95 - retail pack, MicroSD to SD adapter included, limited stock available. Please note this is not the edition with the USB3.0 Card reader. (Out of Stock :( )
Lexar 64GB Class 10 MicroSD for $38.95 - retail pack, MicroSD to SD adapter included, limited stock available. Please note this is not the edition with the USB3.0 Card reader.

He's locked himself in a meeting to 'consider it' - I'm not hopeful :(

      • TELL HIM WE ARE HIS BEST CUSTOMERS AND THAT HE WILL BE GIFTED THE FRUITS OF A THOUSAND DRAGONS IF HE APPROVES IT.

        • Will you be harvesting the fruits to present to him?

        • @eug: maybeamacy only signed up for the private massage :P

        • Are they sorta like the fruits my puppy makes, just bigger?

      • reading maybeamacy's PM? or digesting/decoding the messege?

confusing the manager will not help better deals.

Is this good for Raspberry Pis? Anyone used them?

Edit: never mind, found it on http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards.

Waiting for the 32gb for $10 again.

  • Thanks Rep. Got one. Not sure where to use as already have 2 Sandisk Extreme SD for my camera and my phone does not support addition card.
Will wait for a good deal on 32 GB for the Tablet as it has 16 GB now.

Just curious to ask the background of the name of your company: OZB Enterprises Pty Ltd
    Was it inspired by OZB?

    • +5

Sady no gaggy, in the early days the company was named something similar - Oz businesses or something. It was the Australian retail branch of an international chain which has since wound down operations overseas. The company, more or less, fell into disuse a few years ago - except being the legal backened of MemoryCity. When MechKB and PC Byte started up - the company was revived and it was decided that the name would be changed into something more suitable, so they simply shortened old name and added Enterprises on to the end.

It is true that we are a lot on Ozbargain though - even back in the MemoryCity days :P

  • Is he still in the meeting? Tell him to come out and I'll send you a joint massage.

    • He's out… he's not budging atm :|

      • maybeamacy's sweet PM doesn't work…….

        but nice try maybeamacy

joke aside, thanks for your effort Roland

        • OMG he didn't budge for the last deal either, what a mean man :(

        • +1

@maybeamacy: To be fair, I think we'd lose a lot of money if he wasn't around :P

  • Ordered a couple for some Pi's. Thank you very much

  • Ordered Lexar 64 GB micro SD. Roland, does it have any warranty? Not sure how good it is as compared to Sandisk.

    • +1

      that lexar is class 10 10mb write……..

lexar used to be famous, should be fine.

    • Yes, Manufacturer's Warranty - Five year limited.

  • +1

will the lexar 32gb be ok for a GoPro hero 3+?

    • +1

I am also curious for an answer to this. If someone in the know could kindly inform us not so tech-savvy folk it'd be greatly appreciated.

      • I don't think it will be a problem compatibility-wise but I'm slightly concerned the speed may not be good enough for you to record. As I don't have a GoPro Hero 3+ to test, I'm not sure…

        • thanks Roland - might wait for another deal on a faster card but i appreciate the reply

*edit- i bought the deal anyway lol (but still would like a good 32gb deal)

    • My understanding fullHD is 1980x1080 ~ 2megs
Min recommended speed class 6 . 10 is preferred .

      Should be fine for lexar

  • Thanks Rep, I ordered two.

  • WOuld be able to tell us how many you sold so far :p? I see that there is still stock for 8gb Evo series.

    • I can't say exactly how many we've sold, but I can tell you that we're over half way through your stock and there's still stock left. Hope that helps?

      • Thanks, I was just curious about the demand. I already bought one. At a maximum 10 per customer, I assume you had quite a lot.

  • Is the Sandisk 32GB Ultra SD Card for $20.95 retail pack that comes with the SD adaptor?

    • +1

I believe so - I will need to check with Francesca. It is retail pack but sometimes even the retail pack has variations :|

EDIT: What am I saying - the Ultra which is on sale is a SD card. Thus it does not come with a MicroSD to SD adapter. Or were you referring to an USB adapter?

      • Yes please find out.

EDIT. It's a micro SD to SD adaptor like the Samsung 8gigs retail pack you selling here.

        • Hey mt2000 - the Ultra is a SD card though… why would it come with a Micro-SD to SD adapter? D:

        • @Roland Chen:

hahah doh I am a noob sorry didn't see that lol. Any way just order some 8gigs:)

        • @mt2000: All good! Enjoy your shiny new microSD :)

  • Literally only got 4$ in my bank account, so no go for me :(

    • :( ! We are also very unhappy about this.

  • Just wondering why would people buy SD card. Is it for cameras? I can only think of micro ones for phones tablets.

    • it's typically cheaper than microSDs, plus less fiddly and losable ;)

  • I bought it as a spare for my DSLR.

  • For those who are wondering about stock, we managed to secure more stocks of the 8GB EVO yesterday - that's why we are not out of stock. The volume of orders may mean a slight delay in processing and dispatching your orders though - so please bear with us if your order does not get dispatched this side of the week. Just had the Micro SD card delivered. Unbelievably quick service…..Ordered around 2pm yesterday & delivered by 10am next morning!! Awesome work guys!!

    • +2

Heh, we do what we can :)

  • +1

OP, your web site looks great! Thanks for the deal.

    • Cheers! Appreciate the feedback :)

  • the Sandisk 32GB Ultra SD Card for $20.95 should be good enough for the G1W-C 2.7 inch 1080P Full HD dash cam from gearbeast ya? and it should fit?

    • External Card : TF 32G (not included)

"TF" stands for TransFlash and is another name for MicroSD. The Sandisk 32GB Ultra is a full sized SD Card. So, unless the specs are wrong, sadly it will not fit into the Dash Cam :(

  • :( NO LOVE FOR MY DASH CAM THEN T.T

    • T_T

    • Give Roland something special and I'm sure he can work something out? ;) ;) ;)

      • both of you from "The Bachelor" ?
try to control the flirting here……..
        :P

COME ON ROLAND!! COME OUT WITH SOMETHING :) I AM SURE U WILL SELL ANOTHER 200-300 OF IT ^^

    • +3

      Chill out man :P

We already have a lot of orders that need sending out today, we want to dispatch everyone's order in a timely manner so another 200-300 dispatches may not actually help things.

Besides I've already tried. I wanted to grab the 32GB and 64GB EVO for you guys as well but sadly I couldn't. The currency drop in recent days threw our cost for these out of whack and we just could not offer a compelling price on these.

Trust me - if I could do it, I would do it :P

      • Try harder =P

Damn, this 8gb deal is great, but I really need a 32gb one. 3x actually. Also went back to your previous 32gb @ $7.95 post and made me cry a little inside as I missed out =(

Looking forward to your next 32gb EVO Ozbargain deal though =)

        • Heh - Not sure when we can repeat those prices but we'll see what we can conjure up in the horizon :)

  • +1

So given that the dollar is projected to continue to fall, prices on overseas stuff will probably go up… sad times.

The lexar 64GB class 10 microSD will fit into the G1W-C dashcam ok though?

    • +1

As most of computing goods are imported - the short answer is yes. It could take a month or two to filter through depending on how long it takes to clear existing stock. Also useful to consider for those who buy from overseas.

  • no worries, thanks Roland :)

  • +1

All done and dusted, thanks for your custom everyone! :)

  • tried like 10 times to add the 32gb sandisk sd card to my cart with 5 minutes to go and it didn't work.

    oh well

    • Hey fenrer - can you described what happened exactly? Was there an error? Did you get a pop-up with the two options "continue shopping" and "go to checkout cart" ?

      • clicked add to cart and the spinner kept animating.. didn't get added… will try again tonight at home since the price is still the same.

        • er - I may have 'fixed' it. Let me issue you a coupon in a tick. Can you drop me a PM (or set your settings so that I can PM you?
