  • Now DSE have sent me an email asking "Did you forget to checkout?". No dammit, I did not. It's looking like they've taken the money, but not generated orders.

  • order 4xitunes card, got blank screen but didn't realised paypal deducted at that time.

    went back ordered 2xitunes card, got black screen too but this time it showed up in order status.

      also i just found that both my orders have the same order ID, but was charged twice for different amounts.

  • Just got through to DSE on the phone they said there is a system issue and they wanted my order number and contact number and they will call me back by the end of today, he didn't even ask what I was ringing for!!…… I'm not holding my breath for a call back!! I'm glad I had my order number from my PayPal invoice!!

    • I'll emailed DSE, I'll see if I hear anything. I brought 2 cards, PayPal total of $22, so the code worked ok at least.

  • Well, only wanted one. Everything was saying $2 after the $10 gift voucher and I thought I'd pay the delivery fee. But there was nothing under the payment by credit card, so went the PayPal route. When I got back, it said $12 - wtf?

    So I thought I'd go back to the cart and try again. As it turned out, I got charged $12 via PayPal anyway, ignoring the 20FOR10 and received an order confirmation from DSE. Almost 30 minutes on hold later, was told they had a system issue and someone will call me back…

      I wanted one. Paid $10 with DS gift card. $2 with Wish card. Payment /order crashed.

      Tried again. Same details. Same thing happened. But second order deducted $22 from Wish gift card. Sent them an email. Will see what happens on Monday.

      • What e-mail address did you use, or is there a way though My Account (or similar)?

        • I just contacted them from their website.

        • They finally refunded the $10 on PayPal. Just when I was going to e-mail/call them yet again, I recieved the very first e-mail reply from them advising they were to close the support ticket. Huh? A few correspondences later, got the result. After about three weeks.

    This is a very interesting development. I bought 5x iTunes cards for $52 delivered. Dick first calculates total cost at $100. So AMEX must think it is total spend before discounts - WOW!!!

    • Any chance you have previous transactions. Amex conditions are one or more transactions for $100 total.

        Yeah, I'll wait a bit before I dispute. Hopefully they'll sort it sooner rather than later. Quite frankly, I'd rather prefer the iTunes cards than a refund.

        • confirmation email always comes almost straight away, 2 days and nothing. I don't really thing they even have a record of the transaction because it crashed at the end. will see.

        • @aldoduco: You'll find an invoice ID on the Paypal email, so there is some record, FWIW… :)

    Confirmation email just came through for me along with the invoice and tracking number.

        • Okay that's promising will ring them tomorrow if they haven't sent me an invoice.

  • Just rang them, they said that it is a problem with the apple itunes gift cards and they are escalating it and will contact me within 24 hours.

    Sounds odd but said I'm still entitled to the cards which is a good sign!

    • I've sent them 2 emails (once via the Support form on the DSE website), but I am yet to receive any response.

      • Me too. Didn't get a reply for my message to them from their website about duplicated orders.

        Now received two emails saying my orders have been sent. I only wanted one order and the second one charged me full price plus delivery. Grrrrr.

          @amelyn: Rang them. Useless. They can confirm the order is 'awaiting fulfillment' - no idea when.

          They can't tell me why it isn't in my account - as far as they are concerned they can see it so it's fine. I totally expect I'll be phoning them again asking where my order is in a few days.

          Yeah they seem to have off-shored their phone service adding a new layer of confusion to an already totally disorganised mess. They are nice girls but pretty useless. Was promised 100% an email resolving my issue, for sure, definitely, 100%. Didn't happen of course. Phone waiting time is "only" about an hour.

        Calling this number: 1300 660 054 is useless! After selecting the options, the phone call drops off. It is infuriating.

        I called this number the second time: 1300 366 644

        Difference between my situation and yours maybe, is that they sent me emails to let me know that the 2 orders had been sent out. I didn't get an invoice for either order.

        Have you been billed?

        • Only way I can find to use it is to select no options and wait for the operator. Phone system is very busted.

        1004802XX - only paypal email no further communication, hasn't shown in account.

  • Not a peep here. Didn't realise putting an iTunes card in an envelope was so taxing.

    • From my understanding, iTunes cards need to be activated before they become usable. This usually involves swiping them through a machine (like EFTPOS) and a receipt is printed showing the card#, date etc….

      • thats what i thought too, i bought a card from coles recently and they just had to scan the barcode and its done. it was at the self checkout.

        • Supposedly some places/people will give you them for free if you ask nicely enough with a reason.

          They're worthless before being activated.

          Otherwise kids (and other thieves too) would just take piles off them off the display and shove hundreds of dollars into their pockets.

  • My 2 iTunes cards have arrived (I was only trying to order 1), but the giftcards I used to pay for them, 1 $10 Dick Smith giftcard and the balance on a Wish Gift card, has not yet been charged… just waiting to see what happens. :/

  • Ooooookay. Just got 4 shipping notices for the orders that I was not able to put through due to shopping cart errors. Considering I used a gift card that is worth way less than the combined total of the 4 orders, it will be very interesting to see the outcome.

    • Out for delivery notices today. Looks like I'm getting a metric buttload of free iTunes gift cards. Too bad I have a conscience.

    Ordered 5, looks like I'm getting them all no problems. The email was sent to me on the 9th.

    Unexpected surprised to be honest, I thought this deal was going to turn sour.

    Tracking indicates that it's coming from Sydney. I'm in Melbourne.

  • So i have 2 orders, paid twice so 2 paypal emails but they came under the same order number. DS facebook confirmed that they have sent out one package and on their end the order is complete. so now they're saying need to forward my enquiry to another team to trace the 2nd paypal payment.

    • In the end I was told I did not place an order and basically was told I was lying. After many promised call backs and non returned emails I raised a paypal claim which the 10 period ends on the 23rd with no response from DSE so it will be paid in my favour so hoping for me has gone out the window!!

        email 2 - exchanged 4 emails within a 1 hour period, gave all info requested in last one…. then no response (since Friday 3pm)

        • website contact form 1 & 2 & 3 - completely ignored, its been 3 weeks since i sent the first one.
          facebook 1 - as aboved fb forwarded enquiry to another team. been 7 days no response.
          facebook 2 - forwarded transaction id again ( this time both ids) to another team today.

          my problem is i have 2 transactions in 1 order ID. everytime i ask about it the 2nd order they keep saying its sent and closed. Getting very frustrated here

          I am in a very real situation that i may lose my money. so i have two paypal emails but same order number. I received order A but i raised a dispute for order B that i have not received. Dick smith have responded to my dispute order B with tracking info for order A because it looked like i have the same order number. I am not able to respond to paypal claim and now i think they are going to rule in DS favour. what can i do?!

          Can't you show Paypal that it's the same order number and same amount, therefore you've been double charged?

          I raised a dispute for order B, explained everything and put in two paypal transaction numbers. Dicksmith ignored it and now its been escalated to a claim. DS then replied with tracking number for order A. I can't reply to the claim now and paypal will decide the outcome.

          the problem is whenever a DS employee check either transaction number A or B the same order number comes up and they replied its been delivered with the same tracking info. I reply back and it just gets passed to another person and the same thing repeats!

          I hoping paypal can do a decent job of deciding the outome and refund my money.

          finally got it sorted. Amanda from DS facebook page was kind enough to chase down an online team member to give me a call and issue the refund, after a whole 5 weeks after the order! Team member said i had to close the paypal dispute before he can issue the refund. i made him stay on the line! was holding my breath in between closing the dispute and receiving a refund email.
