  • So can I get $300 worth of iTunes credit for $125? Using both coupons? (fingers crossed)

Is there a limit to the number of iTunes credit you can buy with this deal? There usually is.

    • +1

The $25 off coupon excludes ITunes cards, so I think your out of luck!

    • -1

      Read exclusions

      • +1

Hi! Actually, my question was asked before the post was edited to include the exclusions. Serves me right for commenting too soon maybe?

        • +1

          O my bad, sorry!

  • Free delivery on the iTunes card?

    • +1

      Nope $2 Delivery

      • Edit: Ignore me. Quoted postage cost when you type your postcode in isn't correct - the $2 sign only showed up for me at the top of the checkout.

  • +3

Its Dick Smith, so goodluck to those 'participating'

    • +8

Dick "we will cancel your order eventually but thanks for the short term loan and money for our 1300 number" Smith.

  • "Exclusions: Gaming Software, Gaming Pre-orders"

Looks like this is the new norm concerning recent DS discount codes :(

  • The dual core pendopad is on clearance at coles stores for $49. It was even down to $29 a month or so ago.

    • I looked in 3 Coles stores for a PendoPad, and all they had was the Quad-Core KitKat Pendo Pad for about $125 (or something like that).
I just want a cheap tablet so that I don't need to take my Surface Pro to Melbourne and back.

  • Can't use the 20FOR10 for iTunes giftcards…is that only me?

EDIT: never mind just saw the time whooooops

  • +2

No way in HELL these iTunes cards will be honoured/verified/avaiable. There is my pessimism.

  • Looks like Mr Dick is on cashrewards now!! Savings all over the shop!

  • -1

Are their real iTunes cards or just to get users to visit their website?

  • one per account for the itunes card??

    • As far as I can tell yes. That would be better so more people get a chance

  • -2

just tried by adding an itune card and " 2 x Jackson Horizontal Double Adaptor with USB charging outlet" it still shows full price $25.96 even though its included in 2 for 10 deal? did i do something wrong?

    • Yes it starts at 3pm est

  • Are you able to use the $10 gift card from the previous deal which was purchased for $5?

    • +2

Dunno, give it a go and let us know when it's live :)

    • +2

You mean you got one? Why do I hear the 'Golden Ticket' song playing from Willy Wonka…

    • My cc has been charged for that but on my order there is no billing or delivery address. I also have not received an invoice.

It would be good if it was an e-giftcard instead.

    • yes :)

    • Thanks. You reminded me to use the $10 gift card I got last time.

  • Go nuts guys, you can buy up to 5 with the code lol.

    • all gone.. cant checkout….

  • i was able to place 4 X $20.00 iTunes cards for $40.00+$2 delivery

    hope they dont cancel it

  • +2

Once again it crashed, a waste of time, done with these deals now

  • +1

The 2x wall charger and double adapters aren't coming up as $10, it's still $~25.
I also have iTunes cards in my cart

    • yep also the $10 accessories are coming up as "out of stock".

  • +3

"Plus get any of these items for $10 with any purchase" .. I don't see these going down in price to $10 in my cart (specifically the wall adapter/usb thing).

    • ditto

  • Crashed at final confirmation screen. Fail.
And no longer recognising that promo code.

    • This. Got all they way to final confirmation but kept getting errors about postcode, and some random JS errors (undefined). Now doesn't work.

  • I just went through cashback website and Dick Smith Website crashed.

  • Worked fine for me, thanks!

  • +4

I got charged by paypal and used up a gift card- but the final page crashed.

    • ^ same, final page crashed. i'll wait a few days then paypal dispute I guess.

  • Managed to get 2 itunes cards for $22 bargain!

  • The Dick just emptied my cart automatically :@

  • Worked for me too.. thanks OP..

  • I think those 2 for $10 are actually 2 for $10 EACH/
Removing the iTunes cards and using a normal item yields:
    Discount: -$4.14
    making them 2 for $20

  • it's working for me, are you guys using IE?

  • +1

Just ordered 5 gift cards payed via PayPal received paypal confirmation money taken from credit card but have no confirmation from DSE via email or in my dse account. Not looking good….

    • Exact same thing here. I ordered 3.

  • Seemed to be able to get 5x $20 cards for $50. (Look in bottom right under the delivery thing and it will show you how much it subtracts as discount from the total. It still shows the cards at $20 each on the order quantities).

Put order through, went through paypal. Had to fiddle with checkout a bit (probably because I'm running noscript), clicked confirm on buy and the site goes to a blank page but paypal sent me an email saying they made the payment so chances are it worked.

    Positive for now.

    • kept going to the blank 'placeorder' url as well .. gave a few refreshes / resubmit form .. and I got an email too … hopeing just the once and not 3 times now.

      • Seems like everyone else is having the same issue with the blank page so it wasn't just noscript.

        Not looking so hopeful now.

But at least that's the reason why paypal gets some money off the top. Because if anything goes wrong, you'll get your money back and not that much time lost so oh well.

Looks like I'll have to rescind the positive soon enough but we'll see.

Got charged by PayPal and got a receipt but the DS site crashed and got this message

"PayPal gateway has rejected request. A successful transaction has already been completed for this token (#10415: Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details)."

  • +5

so it appears i've paid via paypal but the transaction hasn't gone through… awesome…

    • +2

      Yep same :|

      • Same :/

  • I added 3 itunes vouchers and it said $30.. then at payment checkout it said $60 again, dodgy

  • Ok, so DSE have taken my money again… lets see how long it takes to get it back this time haha….

  • My order failed on the cc processing, but comes up as an order in my history with the status note:'payment review' — no longer able to use the 20FOR10 code…

    • Same here.

      Says it's "Under payment review".

      No Confirm Email either.

I used my $10 gift card as well.

  • Checked my paypal payment email and it said $42 for 2 cards, what the hell?

    • paypal dispute?

    • Same here, even though it was showing $22 for 2 cards prior to clicking on Place Order :-/

      • This is borderline criminal. However the cool headed side of me deduced that the coupon code expired earlier than intended the moment our transactions went through. Which is still really bad. Their IT system must be horrid if these sort of concurrency bullshit happens.

        • I'm not so sure about that. I tried again after I noticed the $42 taken from Paypal and the code was still working then.

  • +1

    PayPal Invoices success:
    Apple iTunes $20 Gift Card
    Item Number DSAU_A8551 $20.00 AUD 5 $100.00 AUD
    Discount
    -$50.00 AUD 1 -$50.00 AUD

    • did you get email from dicksmith? i got paypal email but nothing else. white page after payment

      • Only Paypal.

  • I just placed an order for one ($12), checking out with PayPal and it's said I've been charged but the dick smith page froze giving me a blank page! And no confirm mail too!

  • +1

Got through to payment and tried to pay with CC which timed out.

Got this message when i cleared the cart and tried again "Coupon code "20FOR10" is not valid."

oh wells. wasnt holding my breath.

    • Check your account dashboard!

The voucher may have been consumed already.

    • Ahhhh has changed from "payment review" to "processing".

Fingers crossed it gets accepted and I get an confirm email shortly.

    • Now moved to "Awaiting Fullfilment"

      • +1

        good luck!

  • After faffing around for the past 20 minutes it appears the 20FOR10 is no longer valid :(

  • +5

I should learn not to take part in such DSE offers as they always end ass up.

Processed my order as two orders; one for $12 and a second one for $22.

My CC has been charged these amounts and the DSE orders page shows both as 'payment review'.

Called up DSE customer service which appears to be located in the Philippine's and after being on hold for 20 minutes I'm told that they cant cancel the order as its not showing up on their system.

    Great.

Now more stuffing around to try and get the $22 refunded.

  • Problems for me too. Ordered the iTunes, PayPal seems to be processed, but DSE page froze, and there has been no email forthcoming from DSE.

  • Have one order for 1 card showing in my account on DSE as processing (placed at 14:30:46 ACST, according to paypal), the second order at 14:39 hasn't shown up. Both have only had paypal emails come through.

  • so slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
the page has me logged in
    then I am NOT
    Then my cart is empty
    then theres my iTunes card
Now the credit card has an issue
and I can re enter it or check if its my mistake
    grrrrrrr

  • Tried to order, but failed at the last page.
Now the gift card page shows “404 Page not found”.
Dick has removed the itunes gift card from their website?

  • +1

    3:34PM
"Coupon code "20FOR10" is not valid."
Dick Smith, waste of time as usual.

  • +1

Yeah not going through this again with DSE. Last time it took 3 weeks to get my money back for an order that they said didn't even exist in their servers, yet ebay confirmed that i did put in an order. Did I also mention their customer service is horrendous? Not waiting 30 mins every time just for them to tell me to talk to ebay. Would have been a good deal but then again its dick smith.

  • +3

FYI, I made the mistake of trying DSE again :/ against my better judgement.
Thought how can I go wrong with $10 itunes cards…
Anyways, DSE site crashed when making the order, but paypal went through,
On the bottom of the PayPal invoice is your DSE Order number "Invoice ID: 1004xxxxx". It's not appearing in "My Account" but at least you have an order number to use when calling their "support" line now.

  • For an experiment i thought id try to see what errors came up this time to add to my previous consumer complaint. Final payment screen showed two errors, One pop up window with 'Undefined' and a second one saying some crap about invalid post address. My friend who doesn't do OzBargain tried, and his exact words were:
"I don't think ill buy from DSE again after the sh*t".

    • I got exactly the same error message on Chrome, (and did a screenshot to show the billing/shipping addresses was fully complete). I went back a few times and re-entered the addresses, but got the same error. I have noticed that the amount available on my CC has reduced by multiple x $12. I will now have to wait a few days to see if they actually take the money. What a mess.

      • Exactly the same experience on iPad, just for yups. Seems to be a universal problem with their checkout.

  • Ok wasted time on this… :/ Not impressed.

  • Did anybody seriously think the site wasn't gonna get hammered to a halt by OzBargainers chasing half priced iTunes cards???

    • Most of the complaints are about e-commerce issues, i.e. payments, not trying to access site. Yes it was going to get hammered, prob mostly by OzB peeps

      • Caveat emptor then, eh?

        • Tru dat. I like the old days of the Harvey Norman offerings of 50% off. Walk in and you feel so happy if you get some! Plus i found they never sold out at HN because when the cards were gone they gave you printed codes. That is good customer service.

  • I got a serious case of 'you snooze you lose' - got stuck talking to a co-worker away from my desk (with the items in checkout, paypal showing correct amount, coupon applied) and came back and the coupon rejected upon return… missed it! DOH!

    • +1

I wouldn't go beating yourself up too much, like any of these too good to be true deals (COTD et al.), it clearly got OzBargained, & you might find very few people end up actually getting anything! ;)
