Great price considering it has a 970 and an i5!

    • The B85 helps to keep the price down, and it is a Galaxy GTX970, also a cheaper brand GPU, a fair price all up though

      • +4

Galaxy GPUs may not be as expensive with low clocks but they are not a bad brand of GPU. I've used them, solid product.

  • website seems to be down

    • nm, working again!

  • Wonder what the temps would be like, and if another HDD could be added

    • Hey mate, this case supports:

      1x 5.25" Drive Bays
      3x 3.5" Drive Bays/SSD Bays (allow you to mount a 2.5 or 3.5" drive)

Not enough airflow around Videocard I have the same formfactor PC had to heavily modify it to keep my gpu cool

    • The video card is at least a card has a blower style cooler so the heat won't get dumped into the case

    • Won't be a problem if set up correctly. The GPU should be bringing in its own air via side vents and if you have extractor fans your all good. As already mentioned a blower style card is a good idea as well.

A Mini ITX case could be argued to be better than a full sized for a GPU as it can suck cool air directly from the outside rather than pulling warm warm air from CPU/HDD/other things in the case.

  • Nice to see a deal on a small form factor gaming rig!

  • i just had a roughly calculation for each part of this pc at MSY price, it seems like a very tempting offer.

      $211 CPU: Intel i5-4460 3.2GHz
      $88 MB: ASRock B85M-iTX
      $88 RAM: 8GB Kingston 1600MHz
      $132 HDD: 250G Samsung EVO 840
      $441 (IJK) Graphics: Galaxy GTX970-4G
      $19 ODD: LG DVD writer
$97 (IJK) Case: Coolermaster HAF Stracker 915
      $79 (IJK) PSU: SilverStone ST60F-ESG PSU 600W

Total: $1155 + assembly fee - prices from MSY except where stated. Add on delivery from CPL/MSY if you can't pick up. BYO OS which is nice.

Solid build, can't really fault it except for brand/model selection for the GPU/case/PSU but it's really a personal preference and dependent on your budget.

(I was actually stuck in MSY this morning 8D)

  • great little steam and htpc box

  • Not bad, but I'd need more RAM and a Blu-Ray drive in stead of the DVD one. I might have to think about it though.

    • Why would you need more than 8GB?

      • Who wants a gaming machine with only 8GB? My current rig runs 24GB, and it's 3+ years old now.

        • +3

But how often do any of your games actually use more than 8GB? 16 for an enthusiast system fair enough, but 24GB seems a little overboard for a gaming system, unless you are using it for specialist applications that require a lot of ram, or maybe your just trolling and I missed the sarcasm.. :/

        • @Riczter: Once or twice, I don't run virtual memory. With 24GB I don't have any issues and have never pass the 1/2 mark, so long as I'm not running background apps, and that's how I like it. Memory is cheap, why not use the MOBO's capacity.

        • @Ebany: Having over 8GB of RAM is like having a 300L petrol tank. It can be argued that it's useful but it's really not likely to be.

        • @voolish: Only if a person doesn't own a car.

But then the major difference is that cars are not designed to take 300ltr fuel tanks, where as Mobo's are designed to take more than 8GB of memory.

Instead of asking "why a person would require more than 8GB for a gaming machine", maybe you should be asking "who uses their machine only for gaming" …… console users would be about the only ones.

  • does anyone know if im able to add an extra HDD to this?

    • only you can answer that.

you don't need too much tech knowledge to do it.
