Selamat Jalan. "Perjalanan yang aman" is a noun. :)

    • +3

I used this. Is it incorrect?

      • +1

Yeah, Selamat Jalan is the correct sentence.

    • -1

I know selamat jalan is in Malay, but is it the same in Indonesian too?

      • -2

There are similarities in both languages, apparently 30% similar.

        • +1

I'd have thought it's more. I didn't realise until I was in Malaysia and understood so much! (I'm an Aussie who learnt some Bahasa Indonesia in primary school)

      • +1

yes it is the same with Indonesian

  • Wow what an amazing deal. I will be in Thailand for most of February but definitely passing this on to my friends!!

  • -1

$213 total as they have a mandatory $7.50 seat selection fee even when you let them allocate you a random seat. Still a bargain.

But be aware that it's right in the middle of Bali's wet season so you'll most likely get some rain and a lot of humidity during that period.

    • +10

There's a 'skip seat selection' button.

      • +4

My mistake, thanks for clarifying. I was wondering why I got negs. haha

    • +2

you can skip this, yes the button is hard to locate but its there. THis will auto select your seat.

  • Though this is still amazing, I think the steam 19c Dark Souls (even though it was a pricing error probably) beats this out for 'deal of the day'.

  • Terima Kasih TA! keep up the Good work and keep it tight!

  • +4

    Flying with a Boeing 787 DreamLiner….Awesome deal!

  • excellent work TA

  • thanks..

    • +18

      People die here too.

      • +11

About 400 every day, bloody dangerous place!

        • +32

one every 9 days @ Bali = 40 Australians dying there per year
In Australia, ABS stats state that about 140,000 people die here every year.

So I conclude that we should all move to Bali to live. It's significantly safer.

          Case closed

        • What???? This should be on TT/ACA!

        • +6

          @shmahoo:

16,000 per week to Bali which per year is visits of 832,000. SO you have percentage of 99.9951923% of NOT dieing per vist.
With a population of 23.6 and death rate of 140K per year that is a 99.4082193% of NOT dieing if you stay in Aust.

Bali is only .58697% safer :)

        • +4

          @bugman:

Not sure it matters how many visit in total… It would be how many are there on average at any one time.

But taking living advice from 'Chris Farley' is a little ironic

        • +1

          @bugman:
Aren't we looking into the probability of dying rather than NOT dying? With your numbers the probability of dying in Bali is 0.0048077 and here in Australia - 0.5917807. That means your chances of dying in Australia are 123 times higher. Where did I go wrong?

    • +7

I'll go on the 8 days that no-one dies then.

    • Leave on day 8.

    • Pugi Pugi!!
That show on tv was hilarious!
Apparently you get super powers and a "1UP" when you hit the airport.
-Chick on scooter pulls out into moving traffic without looking and gets cleaned up
-& my favorite was the cliff jumper who stuffed her back jumping from a cliff edge into water.
Looked to me like idiots abroad Australian style!
Warning is; if you'd die or get injured in Australia from doing it, then its the same thing in Bali.
The amount of drunk Aussies on scooters having accidents everyday is amazing!

  • Is baggage now free? (surely not)
No matter what I do, all different weight options show as $0.

    • +11

boogie board cases are complimentary (weight may vary with journey)

      • +13

And this can impact on the length of your holiday. Accommodation cost can change too.

  • DAmn - all the $ 99 tickets around Australia Day is gone!

    • I just managed to get them Thursday -Monday around Australia day?

My last bali trip was an utter disaster (spent the whole time at hospital with sick kids - they're not even my kids!) so it's time to change that!!

      • +1

What, you're going to adopt someone else's kids!?

  • Top stuff! Thanks :)

  • +1

    You suck Jetstar…why no Adelaide!

    • Is this to coincide with the new Dreamliner aircraft? If so this is a promotion for those flights, flights from airports with lots of passangers, hence Adelaides omission.

  • +7

if Bali isn't your ideal location, or want to use it as a stopover, can get Air Asia flights out of there cheap.

  • Iam having the same issue with the baggage being free what's going on

    • +6

      You're complaining??

      • +2

        definitely not!

  • +2

im going to bali thanks to you!

  • +12

The GF tells me its rainy season in March, not sure if that's true as she does talk a lot of shit

    • +3

      GF is true http://www.baliguide.com/weather.html
But when it's raining, weather wont be so hot, that's the advantage.

      • About as much as this time of year.

        • I just got back and it was completely dry for 11 days, as it has been for my other Sept & Oct trips.

January to March is pretty much guaranteed rain (although brief downpours) and much higher humidity as it's right in the middle of their wet season.

      • More or less insects though?

        • less mosquito during rainy season I think..
the flies, although not as big as here in Aus (less disgusting). but they move very fast/agile, harder to kill :P

      • +5

GF to friends: "I told him it was rainy season in March, but of course he didn't believe me because he is full of…"

        • LOL

    • +1

It does seem to be the rainy season. January being the peak with some sites saying 20/30 days are rainy. I'd imagine that severely limits what can be done there?

      • stay in private villa with pool for honeymooners, don't need to go out ;)
Ubud will be nice with paddy/mountain view during rainy days
Or take boat to Lombok, go snorkeling

  • +5

Thanks so much TA, been waiting 2 years to take the mrs to Bali. Now finally no excuse. I said if it was ever under $300 each without luggage we would go. But for under $200 WITH luggage, you are the best.

    • Luggage is not included.

      • +3

Even though selected, it doesn't add anything.

    • +3

been waiting 2 years to take the mrs to Bali

This is what makes OzB and all the efforts so worthwhile. Cheers buddy.

  • -7

but you have to goto bali :( would jump at this if it was thailand, or you know anywhere else on the planet.

  • +2

Insanely cheap. I don't know how JQ are even breaking even with 6 hour $99 fares on a brand new plane. It's cheaper to go to Bali than to the Gold Coast!

    • Not if you already live on the Gold Coast ;-)

Promotion of new Dreamliner, with limited seats available. Not everyone on the plane travels at this price!

Similarly, last Boxing Day Sale had $128 flights from Hobart, etc to Japan. So relatively speaking, this deal is a more expensive fare.

    • +1

they need to test the new plane.

      you are the guinea pig.

    • +1

Doubt they're making money even at 'normal' prices, there's just too much capacity on this route. Indonesia AirAsia X joining the party soon too.

  • I can't find any dates with $99 on the leg home to MEL. Am I missing something?

    • I can see at least 20 over Feb & March, Try refreshing

      • Thanks! Wasn't showing them on the mobile site.

        • I noticed that as well.

  • +8

Title should say "Bogan Express Liner".

    • ;-)

  • I'm stuck on the Select screen :(

    • Zz… It keeps crashing on Chrome. I just tried IE and it worked. Just wow, I missed out on my dates :(

  • Would this sell out by 6pm?

    • +1

If it doesn't sell out, I would think your dates may be fairly limited.

  • Nice work, i booked Wed 21 Jan - Thurs 29 (which includes Aus day!) yayyyy :)

  • So, did anyone actually get a baggage allocation? It seems to me that even though selected, you have no baggage.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Booked 19 Jan - 27 Jan 15, hope they honour the free luggage in my booking!

    • So you selected luggage, it showed up as $0. Is there actually a kg allowance listed on your confirmation email thing?

      • +3

I just called Jetstar to check the free luggage and they said it was legit that it was free as it was a promo.

In my booking it only showed free luggage on the return leg and I chose 40kg anyway.

        • I also called, the lady said no free baggage. It would be invalid and that payment would be required for any checkin baggage..

        • I also rang and was told that my baggage allowance was free. I asked for a note to be added to file for future reference. I have in addition taken screen shots.

          Thanks Shootingstar.

        • Rang again, they said they could see my 40kg allowance :)
not counting on it just yet.. but hopefully..

      • When I selected baggage, it said $0, and at check out page the baggage price was included. Went back to the baggage selection page and they have fixed it. No more free baggage :(

  • +2

The awkward moment when you already have non refundable flight bookings to Bali in this period.

Great deal. Going to be a lot of bogans around if you are in Kuta though!

Edit: Just checked and the Jetstar prices for the dates we have booked in Jan are now already considerably more than what we paid for full service flights with plenty of baggage allowance on Garuda. Happy again!

Congrats to anyone who got flights at the deal price.

    • Same boat. Paid 4 times the fare :(

  • Thanks OP

  • thank you, you just made my day!

  • -3

Any cheap flights out of bali?

  • oooh….the website crash???
edit: up again but using chrome

  • +1

Thank you very much TA, booked a week over the Aus Day long weekend.

Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the free baggage so I removed it from the order.

Also it appears no fees are charged with debit mastercards????

  • i picked the $49 package and chose "$25 Flight Rewards Voucher". Do you guys know how soon it comes to me?

    • +1

It will be a few days after you actually fly

  • -1

Nice, can afford to bring a bodyguard to Bali now.

  • Any ideas on where to stay on the island?

  • booked five nights thanks

  • Booked 14th to 21st with family - Thanks Ozbargain! - Specifically Op: tightarse

  • Thanks TA!

  • Why am I not getting that price? I comes at $388 as minimum

    • +1

Are you on mobile site? Same thing happened to me. Go on a computer and you'll see the deals
