Internal Laptop Blu-Ray Combo $38.85+Delivery @Centrecom

100

Found this on Centrecom website. Stock available online, Clayton and Frankston VIC. It's good choice since used on ebay are arround $50. I got mine from Clayton store. The sales person there amazed since RRP is around $80. Good option to upgrade optical drive on laptop or put it on drive enclosure to make it removable bluray.

Edited: I can confirm that this unit fit perfectly on Thinkpad E520 and L420. Any other laptops that use similar drive will be able to use this one as well

  • Will this have Standard SATA and power sockets or a special laptop size?
Would be interested in adding Blu-Ray to my HTPC at this price.

The Sata and power terminals on the drive i took out of my few year old Toshiba laptop do not line up with the terminals on my new Toshiba, that does not have a drive fitted.

Dunno how many machines this will fit.

I have recently ordered one of these pluckers, so i can use the drive with the new machine, if i need to.

  • Can anyone please confirm if the terminals on this drive are same as the ones on this one: http://www.amazon.com/DVD%C2%B1RW-Layer-Drive-Latitude-Burne…

If so I might also be interested in upgrading my laptop drive.

  • can this drive have its regions changed (Blu) an unlimited amount of times?

  • Did anyone else order this? Mine seems to have been used with scratch marks around the mounting holes and a sticker or other indentation mark on the underside where the unit was previously pressed against another component.

Anyone else have this experience or issues with Centrecom?
