also, "Note: This product is not compatible with PlayStation 2 games."

      ^is that normal?

      • Dude what do u think is going to happen when u list ps3 at that price???

looks like quite a few people here got one!

    dodgy

    • +1

lol Everyone complains about how COTD does there sales by waiting till u pay for it to get it. Everyone says that it should be reseredwhen u bit it like on this site but now everyone complians about that.

Also u can't expect them to have heaps of these for that much. They prob would have more than what a store would have

  • I got one, i reckon its a pretty good price

  • +1

    ahahah i got mine in

    hehe

    • -1

dodgy, YOU POST THE BARGAIN 11.54, 6 MINUTES BEFORE THE DEAL START! (how you know its goin to be PS3) AND YOU CLAIM YOU GOT ONE.

      DODGY! YOU'RE ONE OF THEM

and guess what..who got the ps3 is for sure one of em.

look at cyrax83, 2 min the deal up and all gone and suprise me he got negative feedback for saying that site dodgy!

      • Nice work moron………..

If u are a member u get the email 5mins before it comes on the site

        • I get my e-mail 10 mins before - and they weren't all sold out until 1:00pm - I got the buy button at 12:38, but was too slow - also, this was 3 days ago…..

  • +4

Damn I got one!!! YAY only $8 shipping too!!! first time i've won one of these stupid limited quantity things!!!
    VERY VERY HAPPY :)

    • Got one too, $8 shipping a bargain!

  • -8

I reckon this site needs to get banned from ozbargain. I think they had 1 in stock

    • +6

yea??? thats why 3 of us got one, good maths there

      • -3

shutup Zawooooooooo, I got damn error messages from the first second

        • -1

How about you shuddup, climb back into your Wahmbulance (driven by a Drama Llama) and drive the hell out of Ozbargain? Whinger.

  • +9

Bettr than COTDs dumb first to pay wins systems

    • +4

100% agree, COTD is retarded, even when you get it in your cart, chances are the site will go down and you'll miss out anyway

  • +1

Missed out. Should have added it to my basket and decided whether i wanted it after lol

  • +3

yep, i got one too $378.98 total.

  • What I just visited 1-day at 1204 and already missed out! Great unexpected sale for sure!

  • -1

Not a bit fan of that site, they have very limited stock, pretty good price.. they would be better selling there stuff on ebay. They have such a crap website too…

  • +3

yep, i got one too $378.98 total. thanks

  • +2

I have secured one as well. I actually had time put one in my basket, recover my password, login and complete the sale with no hassles.

  • +2

    Gone in 3 seconds!!!

I dont mind cause on the weekend I got a Ps3 thanks to a couple of bargain posts here for $522 with 3 games and $115 worth of Myer vouchers.

  • +1

    First Impulse Buyer:

    poit 00h 01m 05s

    lol bullcrap

  • +4

    I just got one!!!
    I visited at 1205!!
Kept pressing refresh until the "all allocated" changed to "Buy now"

    • Lucky you. I was trying the same thing but no luck.

    • -1

lol fail.. I visted at 105 and pressed yes to buy it and nothing in cart came up.

      • +1

i got the same error about three times but kept trying

  • +1

ahahahhahah everyone giving a negative rating is just jealous!

It was a Bargain ps3 delivered for $378.98

  • -1

yeah, sucky deal. if you're are going to have a sale, at least back it up with decent amount of stock. as is, its just a publicity stunt which leaves a bad taste in the mouth of many potential customers.

  • -3

    lol… this is bull shit

1-day should be banned on ozbargain… none of their bargains exist for longer than a few minutes

    • +2

you mean 3 seconds or even 1 second if that

  • +1

see at least it was not advertised for a month prior! Like the Bait-a-thons

  • +3

they probably had 5 in stock. they'd happily lose $200 worth of profit for the huge amount of traffic they get, and pissing off a whole lot of customers too.

    • -6

ahaha nice work nub, more than 5 people have already posted that they bought one

  • +3

These guys are cheats. I'll never buy from them again. They sent me a faulty product and have placed a stop credit on my account just because I was blunt in saying return my money as no one from the customer service responded to my e-mails for several days. i still haven't got my refund and they've disabled my account. Can you beat that?

  • -1

definitely a bait … not happy!

    • +1

did you honestly expect them to have 10,000 in stock to supply to everyone who wanted?

      • +1

Yea lol i think thats what they expected. pfft

      • -1

well not 10,000 but a reasonable amount should be held to fulfill demands … if I remember correctly from my uni days, this sort of action can be fined with Trade Practices Act

        • +4

lol - what uni was that? maybe they need to update their curriculum from 1935….

          • -1

@Mazley: really … well lucky you don't have to go to uni :)

        • Well
          a) What is a "reasonable amount" and
          b) Do you actually know how little or how much they had or sold?

Just because something sells out quick doesn't mean there was a lot of it. Hell ticketek would be getting a class action lawsuit for every big concert they do if the basis for that was that stock/tickets ran out in a matter of minutes.

        • The Trade Practices Act C 1974 doesn't state anything about what's happening here. They had a product on sale for relatively low, it is obvious to a reasonable consumer that there wouldn't be enough supply to fulfill the demand, that would just be unreasonable.
No misleading conduct, as they didn't state anything to the contrary of what was implied.

      • you of all people should not be going off at people for writing negative comments. Look at some of your comments before you judge others.

  • +2

Guys the item is still in stock. If people dont complete the checkout the item will be reoffered. Thats how i got mine. Given the traffic the site is facing right now its possible that many people wont be able to checkout

    • And you know this how?

I saw that YES BUY it when i clicked it the basket had nothing in it.

  • 5500 Views of the Ps3 page in 15 minutes!

They obviously have a lot of subscribers to there newsletter!

  • +1

I dont think any of you were baited.. lol. Isn't this what 1-day is all about? Getting in and beating the rest? Besides, it seems like most of the whingers only found out about it through ozbargain just now anyway. What's better: a couple of people getting a good bargain or none at all?

  • +3

    dont want it, didnt try.
but people who did not get it- stop whinging. From what I can see, even if they only had a few in stock, they were not advertising it. You missed a sale, its gone, bad luck to all you whingers. If Officeworks just decides to start selling USB keys for $1 without warning, and you miss out, its bad luck, better luck next time. same here

    • OMG Someone with some intelligence! LOL, Totes agree with ya

      • are you saying totes instead of totally?

along with omg and lol… game recognise game

      • lol @ totes..

    1-day Staff says:
Sorry, but it looks like we had a lot of people poised over their mouse buttons to put this into their basket come the 12 o'clock switch-over! If you're really lucky (and I mean really) someone might change their minds and drop one from their basket, so keep hitting that refresh button just in case!

    rofl

  • does this come with HDMI cords?

  • wow according to the site there were 9524 and counting views since it launched!

  • laaaame, if they know they are going to be popular buy like 5000 of them, you know they will all sell out. As i expected they probably bought like 10 and are losing money on them to attract people to the site.

  • +1

so limited stock doesn't make this a bargain? can the same be said for stores with horrible customer service and no postal option? gave a + for the simple fact that this price is great!

    • +2

+1, GOOD price Cheap shipping and several people on Ozbargain managed to buy one.

    • They knew that they would sell at least 5000 units today at that price, but instead bought a few to bait people to the website. Like people said, they were sold out before the countdown hit 0

      • +1

        hmmmmm great argument there,

6 or so people managed to buy a ps3 for $378 delivered and this is not a bargain how?

        • I'm sure its a bargain to the 6 customers who bought them. However, pissing off the other x thousand customers isn't good sales practice.

      • You do realize Microsoft loses money selling ps3's, so the outlets would make very little, you should be so lucky that you had a chance .

        • Lol @ Microsoft selling PS3's.

  • +1

I guess this is the new style of advertising

  • -1

    blacklist site please.

everytime something like this happens it will turn into something nasty lol!

  • +1

Someone apparently named 'Kelvin' bought 2.

Oh well wait a few months and it will be $200. meh

    • Soo what???? what are you trying to say, good for him.

      • +1

        So what?? It says:

"Orders are strictly limited to 1 per customer."

        That's why.

Either he is bs'ing or really got two.

        • He probably made two accounts then, or got his brother or father to buy one aswell.

          • @Zawoooo: Two accounts for the one person? Geez Must be desperate for a "cheap" ps3 or to resell on ebay.

But yea either way good on him and too bad for us losers……. -.-

  • -5

This is BAIT ADVERTISING and is ILLEGAL

We should ALL REPORT TO ACCC

    • Why do ppl always say this? Dont open your mouth unless you know what your talking about. This is perfectly legal! So don't even start this discussion!

      • Legal probably. Dodgy? Yes.

It's like asking ozbargain to host their services on a dialup connection. How awesom would that be! :D

        • I would then just use SGBargain instead. It's a direct ripoff of this site anyway lol

      • So someone like harvey norman can also advertise PS3's for $200 on a 1 page advert on a newspaper and only ever have 2 PS3's on offer?

        • +1

          was this advertised?

      • -2

was going to reply but was hopeing someone else would!

They say this because they are whingers, they missed out on the deal and want to take it out on someone, vent some rage

    • -1

it is not bait advertising dude. bait and switch is where you advertise something at a price, then when you get to the store, its sold for a higher price.

1day sold at least one unit at the price, and they haven't advertised a ps3 for a higher price. meaning your argument is flawed

      • Wow that means Dell have done this many times…

Cheap $29 mouse.. No stock or error.. Then offers it to customer via email for a "special" price of $89. Geez great bait and switch there.

Yet the ACCC did shit all to them.

End result Dell get some publicity and the ACCC cant do anything.

Way of this new advertising life I guess.

        • unfortunatly ACCC does't force dell to honour their deals like they have had to in other countries. In the forums somewhere is a mention where dell had to sell 24" LCDs for like $50 after the court said they were forced to honour their prices.

but yeah, dell have been busted for bait and switch before

      • I am always confused here: If the idea is just to generate traffic, why would a store sell more than one? I guess at least CotD specified quantities.

    • the ACCC is about a useful as spitting on a house fire (that's not very useful in case you're wondering :P)

  • +1

Take a look back at what happened when COTD had their birthday thing with the $200 Wii. NOBODY thought it was fair. I don't see how this is different apart from a handful of lucky people and maybe the advertising. The majority missed out and there was no mention of quantities available.

Well done to those who did get one but it's a VERY dodgy marketing scheme.

    • They did not advertise this like COTD… no dodgy marketing scheme and no bail advertising.
They probably had 100 or so and people were ready to get in on time.

  • i was ready at 12 exactly, but no luck.. its just bait advertising… get a few items to sell at a slight loss.. let the buyers advertise for you… good business strategy, but kinda sneaky and can backfire..

  • yeah definitely lots of whingers in ozbargain. but hey each person is entitled to their opinion right :P
good post! keep up the good work! plus from me
