GTX770 and not a 970.. at this price is pretty much obsolete.

Sorry, but the jump is just massive.

@Rep: You forgot the Corsair RAM and SSD. And K95 RGB bundle option. :P

Take out the water cooling as that particular piece of kit only achieves performance on par with air coolers.

Not needed either unless you are overclocking and even then the tdp is so low already.

take out the bling LED, swap for a,more versatile and cheaper itx like the silverstone sg01 or raven.

swap out the psu for an sfx form factor 600w.

with these changes you can have yourself an itx gtx970 equipped machine. Can power and accommodate a 980 too.

a plus from me, thanks for the helpful and genuine advice.

Can you order that for me instead :D
      Great post +1

      • Do you need a list of the parts? The sfx psu referred to is a Silverstone. The 980 fits inside either the sg01 or raven, just double check I recall the name correctly by checking the reviews for the card length they can handle. One of the two can accommodate up to 13" but it must be a blower type cooler or it won't be cooled effectively.

        • is that the RVZ01 Raven you're referring to? rather than the RV01-05?

        • Hmm when searching there is a few that come up. I might ring them and ask :)
          Thanks!

Are we able to customise 2 or 3 items in this preorder?

  • Pretty sure these are units that would be used at PAX then sold off at a slight discount

That's what I was thinking judging from the available pickup date, and now that I actually read the OP… :O

"Systems on display throughout the PAX Gaming Expo this weekend, come and play on them at the Wargaming Stand…"

Pretty dodge for Scorptec to be selling used/display computer (albeit over 3 days) as a "discount" on the new prices that it would normally cost. Or is it really just a stress-test over 72 hours done for you by randoms at PAX? :P OR does that mean they'll be showcasing those systems at PAX (the actual pre-builds) which you can then order via Scorptec if you like what you see (and get a brand new build done)?

Also, sourcing the parts individually from Scorptec gives a total of $1700 + $60 assembly fee. So actual price seems to be $1760, not $1799 as claimed. Taking this into consideration it seems to be a pretty big :( when Scorptec is slightly misleading as to the condition of the computer you'll be getting, and the actual savings/discount amount.

(Good opportunity for you to clarify on the condition of the pre-builds you're offering in this bargain, Mr. Scorptec Rep).

      • Second hand makes this a no deal.

  • Before PAX, these pcs were sold for the same price, now they are second hand but still same price.
