      Done!

  • What do they normally cost? I've only ever paid ~15 for a refill @ kmart…

    • Last time my local Kmart charged $19 but I don't know how much prices vary between stores.

      • Just had a 60L refilled at BigW for $19 also

    • $15 for a 40L or 60L?

      • 60L page 15 on the Coles catalogue. Price beet at Harvey??

  • This is for the refill but I still got a lot of fizz in my 40L. How much for a new 60L cylinder?

    • A new 60L will set you back $45-$50 and I know that BigW did have some that included a "free" 1L carbonating bottle last week when I was in-store (which I have also seen at other stores). When you swap your empty 40L it will get exchanged for 60L as they don't stock the 40L anymore (as far as I know) and should only cost you the $16.50-$19 refill cost. I did that with a Jet Titan model 40L bottle and they didn't care. I find the spare cylinders expensive considering you can get a new Jet Titan machine with 40L bottle and 1L carbonating bottle for $59 at the Good Guys at the moment, and KMart had these for around $40 on special about a month ago. At the $40 price tag it was cheaper to get 2 machines than a machine and spare cylinder so worth waiting to see if something like this comes up again.

  • Is the 100L on sale?

  • I thought some ozbargainers have banned this item for some reason

    • Ozbargainers cannot 'ban' anything.

They can choose not to purchase something, which naturally is their choice.

Some feel that because the Sodastream product is currently produced by Israel (in the Palestinian occupied areas) that they should not buy Sodastream products.

  • FALSIFIED Country-of-Origin Labelling ALERT

SodaStream FALSELY labels its products as "Made in Israel" despite its main production facility being located in Mishor Edomin, an illegal settlement in the Israeli occupied West Bank.
That's why SodaStream is subject to international boycott — http://www.codepink4peace.org/section.php?id=470

Most consumers would never consider COUNTERFEIT products as bargains,
and neither would they consider products with FALSIFIED country-of-origin labels, as bargains.

    • Apparently they bowed to international pressure -

    • Mate. What's with the chip on your shoulder?

On. Every. Single. Sodastream. Deal. You put up the same alert, but never have time to contribute anything else.

The last time a deal came up you knee-jerk responded and [someone told you then] (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/168049#comment-2342585) that the West Bank factory was closing… I'm sure someone as obsessed as you already knew, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

But you still keep posting what you know now to be no longer relevant.

It's ridiculous. Leaving aside the fact that this one (of 13) facility gave equal rates to Israeli and Palestinian staff regardless of nationality, all the remaining factories are inside the non-controversial pre '67 borders of Israel, or in Australia, China, Germany, and South Africa.

The things you puported to care about have changed, yet you still keep posting about it. Why?

Until SodaStream moves its main factory from illegally occupied territory that belongs to another people (an occupied people it exploits), then it is in contravention of truth in labelling laws.

OzBargainers may be interested to know how SodaStream exploits its Palestinian workers at its main factory (located in an illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank).

        Worker Exploitation ALERT
In July, SodaStream fired 60 Palestinian workers on the spot, without recourse or due process. The sacked workers weren't even allowed to collect their personal belongings.

Their crime? — the workers complained about not receiving sufficient food to break Ramadan fasts during night shifts, and noted that it was dangerous to work the machines when they were both hungry and tired (SodaStream prohibits employees from bringing their own food because of Jewish dietary laws).
As a result, the shift manager cancelled the night shift and sent the workers home promising that the problem would be resolved the next day …but the next day, all the night-shift workers received termination notices.

        • I don't see you complaining and boycotting for example Chinese goods, bearing in mind the treatment of the Tibetans etc.

Get real! or … can we assume that you are of middle eastern say, for example, Palestinian extraction, with a barrow to push. Well then push it somewhere else as soon as possible. We would like to seriously discuss items we have a genuine interest in.

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL FORUM as you have been told before.

        • @Reddog888:

Why don't you start a boycott of Chinese products?

This is not a political issue, it's an ethical and consumer awareness issue.
Whether you like it or not, ethics are a growing part of consumer and investment choices. Without the support of international consumers/investors who chose boycotts and divestment, indigenous South Africans would still be living in segregated ghettos and bantustans under a repressive minority regime.

        • @1bug:

No it is the same thing and you are being selective here. It IS political supporting one nation or party over another … face facts. Take the fight elsewhere please.

          @Reddog888:

So what would be your view if an Australian company sacked 60 workers for complaining about an occupational health & safety issue?

Would you continue to buy products from such a company after you were made aware of how it abuses & exploits its own employees?
